Now You've Ticked Off Bob Dole!

If you haven't read Bob Dole's email to Scott McClellan yet, it's both biting and humorous.
This line stands out to me:
"In my nearly 36 years of public service I've known of a few like you. No doubt you will "clean up" as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, "Biting The Hand That Fed Me." Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years." (Emphasis mine).
Hmm. Who has switched sides in recent history??? Think he was referencing of David Gergen there?

I always thought Bob Dole was above defending this scandelous, treasonous, cleptocratic administration. Sad how little the Republican party stands for these days. |
|
|
But isn't "everyman for himself" the rallying cry of the GOP these days? Who's to say who is stabbing who in the back anymore? The GOP doesn't stand for anything anymore anyway and seems to be intentionally going out of business in order to win one more White House by forfeit. Hard to figure out who is standing on the high ground these days. |
|
I see you are of the "attack the messenger, not the message camp".
Nobody wants to debate the content of the book? Bob Dole himself says he hasn't read it and never will.
|
|
Bobdole says: "I have no intention of reading your "exposé" because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man..."
So, Bob, McClellan's biggest sin was that he waited to long before turning on his boss? It would have been ok with you if McClellan had made these claims right after he quit the spokesman gig?

I think people are misunderstanding Dole's complaint.
Dole is saying that if McClellan felt that President Bush was lying about the war, that McClellan should have stood up like a man and said, "I refuse to go out to the podium and tell lies to the press."
But McClellan didn't do that. Rather, McClellan chose to tell "lies" to the press. (I don't believe McClellan told "lies," but McClellan b-e-l-i-e-v-e-s he told "lies.")
Also, from what I understand, McClellan doesn't actually cite examples of what specifically was "propaganda." He merely makes general allegations.
I think McClellan is disappointed because he believed he was going to get a lot of job offers following his departure from the White House Press Secretary job, a la Dee Dee Myers, Mike McCurry, Ari Fleischer, Tony Snow, et al.

Sure the president may be guilty of treason but that McClellan.... his telling the truth late.... now there's a crime...THAT's the issue. NOT our treasonous president.
Again, Republican = NOTHINGNESS!! |
|
|
From holding protest signs. This man walked the walk.He made his point,he didn't mince words. He's da man. |
|
As usual, the GOP can't find the right enemy.
Scott McC is the messenger, not the message. The problem is Bush, Cheney and all the little Neo-Con flying monkeys around them.
Find me ONE line in the book. Just one. Then we'll talk. |
|
instead of trying to get into the McClellan mess.
Bob beat who for President? He lost. Bob's words are exactly why the Republican Party is in the mess it is in. It is more about "Looking Good" than doing good. So sad to see Bob in the gutter over such a non-issue related to American Values. Guess the loyality thing IS the most important factor to party line Republicans. So much for what is best for America! |

As usual blinded by the triple L syndrome and BDS. |
|
Dear Mr. Dole, The White House is not the Mafia, employees are not obliged to adhere to a Code of Silence regarding illegal or unethical behavior of their colleagues. Their first loyalty should be to the American people, not the president. |
