Living the High Life
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 11:49 AM
According to gossip columnist Richard Johnson of Page Six, the Obamas aren't waiting to get to The White House to live the high life.  When Barack was at a meeting at the Waldorf-Astoria last week, his wife called room service and ordered

lobster hors d'oeuvres, two whole steamed lobsters, Iranian caviar and champagne.

Sounds pretty tasty -- and pretty expensive.  I guess that's one way of "spreading the wealth around."

Look, I don't begrudge the Obamas their caviar and lobster.  I like lobster, too (caviar? not so much).  It's just that the whole mentality strikes me as typical of Democrat thinking.

In that world view, the "government class" -- those who "care" about the poor -- are entitled to caviar and lobster, although it may seem sharply at odds with their much-touted kinship to "working people."  But "the rich" -- who can afford to purchase caviar and lobster because of their own hard work and talent -- are to be demonized as "greedy," eating lobster and caviar is to be touted as evidence of "excess," and their wealth is to be spread around.

Our Betters
It is little snippets like this one that give us insight into the real Obamas - elitist snobs who want to fool us all into thinking that they are just average citizens.

"I can see no other reason for you to use time notation on every one of your comments."

It makes it easier to find the comment I'm replying to, so you can see the full context of the text I quote. I have a little keyboard macro set up so I can just select the text and the Subject and Comments boxes get filled in automatically.

On threads under the columnist's blog entries, I used to give the commenter's name and the comment serial number, but it turns out that the lousy TW blog support software changes them arbitrarily. So now I just give the timestamp on both types.

Bob Munck, are you a bus driver
I can see no other reason for you to use time notation on every one of your comments. But thanks for keeping everything orderly as that is the main purpose of a blog.

"Mute Point about Cindy, she is a very wealthy woman
Mute Mute Mute"

The Obamas are pretty well off too, from book sales. And wasn't it their anniversary?

Btw, the word is "moot."

The real person
Lately we have heard Obama himself say that he would spread the wealth. I guess that means he will spread our wealth while his wife eats lobster. People better wake up. Obama is only about himself. He cares not for America or our way of life. He is saying anything and everything to get elected. What do you think we will have for a government if he is in the white house and the dems control both houses of congress.

Mute Point about Cindy, she is a very wealthy woman and she does not have to resort to taxpayers money to buy her clothes. Remember the company she owns? Or, have you neglected to mention this, of course you did!

The Obama's have smeared themselves by calling Great Americans Racist! They have done it time after time after time, remember the great Obama Luther King speech? Which, is more than likely to be his head subject on his 30 minute poor me black man speech!
Remember the remark, oh and yes they will tell you I am black? Inciting racism is such a Jackson, Al Sharpton Idea and Obama has found out it works on uneducated americans.
They have done this themselves!

No animal rights sensitivity there
(or crustacean)

Not to mention the vulgarity of being so low common denominator as to be gauche and bourgeois when seeking to lead by example.

If Laura Bush or Cindy McCain was reported to have ordered this way, the press would be hauling out Daddy Warbuck analogies and the plutocrat accusation would be flying. Of course, Michelle Obama is no Laura Bush and doesn't approach the sense or humanity of Cindy McCain.

If this lot got into 1600 Pennsylvania, it'll be Tony Rezko meets Suge Knight.

Michelle Obama is just waiting to show her bling thing.

Who Cares
This should be filed under the who cares department. It doesn't rise to the level of Al Gore or John Edwards.

Obama obviously doesn't care about higher taxes. He can still pay them and eat what he wants. That being said, with a 500 million camapign he can affod it.

Pointless article...
Unless staying at the Waldorf and eating expensive is some sort of abuse of campaign funds.

the bastion of responsible reporting - I mean gossip.

It's hilarious that you guys are left to citing such 'dignified' news sources to smear the Obamas!

Iranian caviar???
That's it! I'm boycotting the Waldorf-Astoria!!!
