Congratulations to President-elect Obama
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 11:21 PM
There will be plenty of time to talk about what President-elect Obama has to do, how he meets the expectations he's raised for his administration, and much, much more.

For tonight, it's enough to say "congratulations."  We are Americans first, and therefore I wish the Obamas health and happiness.  It's even possible to wish them success -- so long as it is in keeping with the best traditions of American liberty, virtue and prosperity.

And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius

Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revalation
And the mind's true liberation

The only silver lining I see...
is that maybe African Americans will finally be forced to admit that they aren't completely oppressed with no possible opportunity because everyone in America is secretly still a racist. Then again...nah, that'll never happen!

Congrats?
There are no congratulations here, only condolences for America. I am saddened for the unborn babies that will die at the stroke of his pen. I am saddened that this country will most likely experience another attack, under him. I am also sad that the left agenda will be promoted, under him.
The only thing that I find to be happy about, is that we get to vote again in 4 years!! Hopefully after 4 years under the Democrats, people will be ready for a real change.

McCain is a man of honor and courage, he truly is the one who should be leading this country.

We can't be Americans first without some
commitment to Liberty, which we apparently no longer have. There is no America. There are no Americans. Just a group of beggared graspers exchanging our liberties for government goodies.

The iron claw of government around our necks is the latest fashion accessory.

NUMA
National Unity...

Sorry ma'am but if McCain had won, very few liberals would be talking about unity and wishing the new President well.

How many years did I suffer seeing "Not My President" shirts and bumper stickers? Well what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Am I Alone?
I don't feel like congratulating Obama. I don't feel like this is a great moment. I feel like people have been trying to dupe us into thinking that we're complete racists if Obama wasn't elected. I feel like this election was a complete referendum on race and not merit or anything approaching objective reasoning.

I'm pissed. This was a president elected upon no merit. Do I sound like a sore loser? Maybe I am. But I mourn.

I mourn for the babies that'll be lost. I mourn our even more tenuous national security. I mourn for economy and the downturn it'll surely take with the crap being taxed out of us.

But wait...we've elected a black president. Yippee skippee. Let us rejoice at this. Not me though. I don't care one wit if he was black. This is horrible for our country because where it'll lead us. Ugh. The movement starts from the bottom. Onwards.

You are not alone...
I am very fearful for the future. I am a college student and we are barely getting by as it is. How will we survive when the Bush tax cuts expire and BO "bankrupts coal" just to name a few of his so called brilliant ideas.

America has a rude awakening on the horizon.

THE OBAMAS
Please someone tell me if they watched "THE SPEECH" of Obama. Did anyone see the dress the woman had on. And this is suppose to be our first lady. Well I know that if she sets the fashions now, I will be making all my clothes.
Obama is a good speaker. But can you believe him.
The people at the field was just mesmerized. I could not believe it.
If Jesus was on stage they would have thrown bottles or anything else at him, but not Barack Hussin Obama"THE ONE". Not in my book. Look at them they are what they are.

So Congratulations.............
So, more than half of my fellow countrymen want to live under socialism. Today, I can survive under socialism. God and America have been good to me and I am entering my twilight years with bounty and grace. As a younger man, I doubt I would have been able to accomplish what I have in the world we will soon live in and for that, I am grateful. Tomorrow I will pray and thank God that I was able to experience America the way I did.

But tonight I will pray for those who will never know the wonder of what they could have been. Those who have fallen so far into themselves that they have lost what they were destined to be. Those who would rather be Socialists than Americans.

They were stopped so short. And never even knew it.
Congratulations.

A Time to Mourn
I am saddened that the majority of Americans have rejected the sanctity of life. To many/most it was and continues to be a non-issue. Germany's execution of millions in concentration camps is but a small fraction of US abortions. But not only 4,000 abortions daily, but infanticide - allowing babies who lived through an attempted abortion are allowed to die after they are out of the womb.

A nation can go no lower than what we have here- in approving, excusing, even applauding and funding this murder.

We are about to see the cup of God's wrath poured out on this country.

Was abortion legal for the last 8 years? Who held office during those years? How about the 6 years before that? Who had the majority in the Senate and Congress then? Was abortion legal from 1980-1992? Who was president during those times?

My point? The republicans aren't going to do ANYTHING about abortion. Babies have been murdered under their reign just as much as they will tomorrow. In fact, Republicans have had control of government the longest since RVW. Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul, and a handful of other senators and congressmen tried several times to ban abortion the only legal, permanent, and constitutional way, and couldn't find any republicans willing to co-sponsor it. Why? Because the GOP wants to keep it an easy issue for them to use to get you to vote for them even when they are socialists.

They have no intention of drowning that prized pig.

So, please, explain to me how this issue is going to be any different than it has been?

I am pro-life, too (and a conservative) but I had no delusions that JSM was going to do absolutely anything to change it.

You want to save babies lives? Start calling your senator and congressmen and asking them to support Hunter or Paul's bills and quit hoping the GOP is actually going to do anything about it with a supreme court (which can be overturned again, obviously, if we can overturn RVW.)

Good Luck!
Good luck to president-elect Obama. And good luck to the USA!

This must be a particularly proud moment for you, Carol. Didn't you and Obama work together?
