I could've used the intervention, OHM
5-6 through the early-evening games, our hostess on suicide watch, and my notional national champs not doing so well. Oh, and something like 8 inches of Gorebal Warming set to cover up the greenery that finally popped up after a winter-long snow cover.

steveegg,

I'm quite familiar with the power of Red; I recall the way the Badgers used then Coach Bennett's slow-down tactics in order to humiliate my favored LSU Tigers in 2000 on the way to Wisconsin's Cinderella run to the Final Four that year.

But M-Kat's Georgia Bulldogs were a pathetic 4-12 in the SEC this year.
How on earth could her team all of a sudden roll to the SEC Tournament title...unless she elicited special favor from God while in the Holy Land ?

If our gal M-Kat wins the lottery next week, or runs off with David Beckham, we're gonna have to start asking questions about her trip to the Holy Land...

Sorry MK
Even though I took Xavier, I did so with the intention of having my poor picking being poor and thus giving the game to the Dawgs. Now, where's Dean Barnett's puppy pic?

OHM, that Dawg surge was simply the Power of Red, most-successfully employed by the Badgers.

4-12 Georgia wins SEC tournament ??

I think someone should investigate the fact that Mary Katharine visits the Holy Land, and then her Georgia Bulldogs who were a pathetic 4-12 in the SEC during the regular season, all of a sudden WIN the SEC Tournament and earn a berth into the NCAAs.
...and as I write this, her Bulldogs are leading #3 seeded Xavier by 9 points at halftime.

You in a pool, jamo?
I'd like to see your bracket (before it burns up on re-entry much like mine, that is :-)
jamo writes: Thursday, March, 20, 2008 10:55 AM
beg to differ
Sorry to make this a personal sports blog but....defense wins championships in football not hoops....pick teams that can outscore opponents and have probable first round draft picks in the line up.....Memphis ... UCLA ... the Tar Heels (not a fan but can't deny their talent) so I say again go Bruins
steveegg writes: Thursday, March, 20, 2008 10:34 AM
Hint; take Wisconsin
Defense wins championships, and nobody has a better defense than Bucky.

It's not quite "Weekend at Bernie's"
They've dropped the video portion. I guess Al Qaeda lost their Max Headroom software.

Thanks for bringing back my musical guilty pleasures (I think).
