I support McCain wholeheartedly, but I think a lot of the ugliness in this campaign is overstated, if not downright manufactured.
In my humble opinion, the percentage of minorities who are "crazy" to see Obama win is pretty small, and probably about the same percentage as "crazy" whites in favor of McCain.
Seems to me that most blacks are excited about this campaign. I can respect that, because so am I! As a conservative woman, I am extremely excited about Gov. Palin's chances to be VP. But, if Obama wins, he will deserve our respect as our President.

I agree. You have actually two different conservative bases. One of which really is more of a cult. You have the true or traditional conservatives if you will, they're ok. They're the typical family values, work hard, do what you can for your fellow man as long as they're on the same political page as us type. Then there's the NeoConservatives, they're fascist, racist, and definitely pro-war. This wing of the conservatives was issued in during the Reagan era. They want to gut the middle class, systematically keep the poor poor, and the rich rich, build the biggest most intimidating military even if it means millions of people starve, they'll spend billions on some half baked hair brained pipe dream like a force field that'll cover the country, than house or feed people that their economic policies made homeless and hungry. If they don't have enemy to fight.... No problem! MAKE ONE UP! Let's wage war on a noun! Liberals (in this case liberal blacks) vote overwhelmingly disproportionately to black liberal candidates than conservatives (even white conservatives) do for black conservative candidates. Compare the voting data for liberal blacks that voted for Obama vs. Hillary vis a vis conservatives that voted for black conservative candidates like Lynn Swann, Michael Steele, Herman Cain and Ken Blackwell. I've been an academic research psychologist for many years. Across this time, there have been numerous scientific studies showing that compared to liberals, conservatives show more racism, more bigory, more prejucie, and less tolerance.
These findings are not the sort of misinformation that you find on Fox News or your right wing literature. It's tightly controlled and highly replicated scientific research. I'll gladly provide references if you are interested. The most recent studies can even localize the brain processes (in conservatives) that may underly your attitudinal problems.
This of course doesn't mean that all conservatives are racists, but many of you are.
