then please stop talking bad about the man's family. They have nothing to do with his record and that is what sane people should focus on. |

I agree with "the truth." Huckabee IS a big spending liberal who is soft on terrorists, Mexicans and abortions. His family is clearly insane and deranged, and if his fat son killed that dog I would not be suprosed if there are other skeletons in that boys closet. Isn't that how serial killers get started? I am not saying that Hucks fat son is a serial killer, but I would not be suprised if Law and Order makes a show about a rich fat governor from Arkansas who covers up for his serial killer son. |

I think people like BigBen are either not really for Mitt or really stupid. Huckabee has plenty of problems to point out like he took money for communtations and pardons, he is weak on immigration, he raises taxes every other day, he is a big government big spending liberal. So people need to focus on the issues and quit talking about Huckabees family and focus on his awful record as Governor. |

president who can unite this country and get some big problems solved. Women actually know that. Are you mormon? I realize it's difficult for them to think of women as intelligent people. Now that I think about it, it would be fun to watch a sexist, racist mormon get creamed by a methodist woman who is huge on civil rights and race equality. Just for that moment of excitement, I might just start encouraging people to vote for Mitt. |
Ron, thanks for proving my point. Not only does Romney look good, but he has more power, money, and social standing then any of the others as well - women will therefore flock to him especially if he runs against Hillary or Osama (oops, Obama).
Romney will take every GOP-woman vote there is. I have a mom, sisters, and wife and all of them are voting for Romney - and I only control my wife's vote. |
Huck looks more like Kevin Spacey. K-Pax is a great movie, but everything else he made is total crap. There's no way I can vote for this man. |
Mitt's sons are also better looking then Huck's. And Mitt's kids never hung a dog and stoned it, and then ate it while their dad was governor.
A president is the ultimate father figure - do we really want a father figure like Huckabee? |
Yes but the Mormons take better care of women than southern baptists. Huckabee's past talk about women will turn more of them off then Mitt's mormonism. Add this to the fact that Romney IS BETTER LOOKING THEN ALL OF THEM - and you have a recipe for success.
Once more people discover that Huck likes to free murdering rapists and his son is a fat dog killer, the more people (man AND women) will support him. Lets stick to the issues folks. |

not likely to support a guy who is closely aligned with what most women today see as a "sexist/racist organization" - and you know democrats will play this up. General elections are won on a plurarity vote, so the republican needs to unite center-right and the democrat needs to unite center-left. The candidate who unites their voters more gets the presidency. Mitt's record and performance yesterday indicates he will have a hardtime uniting the center-right. His record offends just about everyone - not just minorities but people who do not want to make the election be divided along religion, race, class, and gender - a Romney nomination is polarizing in that way. His wife is cute though and I get your point about looks. However, conservatives who are the main republican constituents are not this skin deep. |
We will never win the black or Mexican vote anyway. Why try? We need to be unified and not attack our own candidates because of "rascism"
The other thing to consider is womans vote. Even Ann Coulter says that women will be the reason the Demorats win. And Romney looks better then the others and will attract more woman-votes, therefore he is the best candidate. |
to be a truthful statement. Its the lying about shared moral values and ignoring Romney's baggage that is frustrating me. Romney's good looks won't smitten anyone enough to ignore his racist past, and multiple positions of political expediency. Republicans already have an image problem when it comes to race and class. A Romney nomination will divide this country along racial and religious lines worse than OJ simpson's trial did and worse than Trent Lott's comments were used in the media. Romney's reality is bad all around! His looks and his wife's devotion not enough to make up for his plastic personality either. Its like Gore and that kiss he gave his wife. A little too choreographed, americans won't vote for him. |
Ann Romney is 5'8 and weighs 115. She is a good looking woman. I know Huckabee lost weight but his wife and family are gross. We can't have these people representing us in front of the world.
My vote is for Romney! |
Well, Matthew, the evangelicals were the ones who insisted on opening Pandora's Box when they became publicly hysterical about Mitt Romney not being a Trititarian Christian.
Furthermore, anti-Huckabee conservatives are not saying that Huckabee's religion is a "disqualifier" per se, rather they're saying that THE WAY he uses religion to DEFINE HIS CANDIDACY is a strategy that is doomed to fail in a general election.
His son was a boyscout counselor and when he was 18 he hung and killed a dog. Huck brushed all of this under the rugs and it is much worse than Michael Vick!!!
My vote is for Romney! |

SHOW ME where he has said he is God's choice? I'd love to see where you can prove he said that? I, in fact can prove he doesn't believe this because he said just the opposite in an interview I was a part of. "I wouldn't try and pretend that God wants me to be President, that he's going to vote for me. I think that's something he and I would leave up to the voters," said Huckabee to News Talk 660 KSKY on June 15th of this year.
There are plenty of things where Governor Huckabee and I disagree: national smoking ban, scholarships for illegals, etc. - at least I admit when I disagree. One thing I have noticed is that everyone is afraid to say they disagree with their candidate, why? I don't agree with GWB 100% nor do I agree with my decisions 100% of the time, it seems that dogma is the highest drug of choice for some out here. |
He's not not beng criticized on his involvement in his religion, but on how he is using religion as a wedge issue. He compares himself to Jesus feeding the 5000, and to David. He implies that he is God's choice, and his rise in the polls is an act of God.
His unwillingness to be gracious about Mormonism is all you need to know about where he's at religiously. He was the key note speaker at the SBC conference in SLC specifically designed to trash Mormonism, where he stated he wanted to take back the country for Christ.
He planted the sleazy question to the NYT, and reporter, and denied that he knows anything about Mormonism. He's moved into first place for suspicious candidate on the anti-Mormon push polling mystery.
It's pretty clear that Huck chose the religious strategy because he had nothing to lose and could not run on his record, or character because both basically stink.
Any one of these issues - taxes, immigration, paroles, pardons, foreign policy, big gov, or his liberal poplulist rhetoric, is a deal-breaker for Huck on their own. When combined, it's almost mind-boggling to see where he is in the polls.
What in the he** gives, here, folks? |

It is not his religion or his past as a preacher that should worry people. It is his fiscal liberalism and his taking of cash to release people from jail that should disqualify him from this race. |
