An Invitation I Hope Senator McCain Will Accept

Barack Obama taunts John McCain, saying that McCain didn't say anything negative about him to his face. No doubt Barack hopes to sound tough -- and to put McCain in a box. If McCain says something negative, he's a "mean old man" and if he doesn't, well, Barack tries to paint him as a coward.
But I hope Senator McCain will accept Barack's invitation to repeat his criticisms to his face. Not just the fact that he's been allied with an unrepentant terrorist, Bill Ayres, for many years -- but also the fact that he's happily surrounded himself with other America-haters, including his pastor for 20 years. Even his wife believes America is a "just downright mean" country. And yet this is the man we're supposed to trust to lead this country through the greatest economic crisis of our lifetimes -- and defend us in the war on terror? What, exactly, about America does he and his allies even see as worth defending (or saving)? (As Dorothy Rabinowitz points out brilliantly today, a good part of the clash between McCain and Obama has to do with who we are as a nation.)
So far, in many ways, Senator McCain has allowed the Obama campaign and the media (virtually indistinguishable entities, by the way) to set the parameters of debate for the campaign. They need to start breaking out of that mold, and explaining to Americans -- chapter and verse -- why Barack is simply an unacceptable alternative.
Ask the American people, again and again: How much do you really know about Obama -- given that every scrap of paper that might shed light into his pre-US Senate career is either destroyed or missing? John McCain's long record is an open book. Why isn't Barack Obama's? And is this really the time to take a gamble with the country's well-being?

Amazing not Obama or his so called advisors can not or will not answer a simple question that many reporters have asked him or them The quest is "when did Obama know that Ayers was a home grown terrorist, I have heard this " Mccain does not want to discuss the middle class economy, McCain does not want to do this or that, the question is still unanswered when did Obama know that Aywers was or is a home grown terrorist, perhaps when Obama's wife worked at a attorneys office wit Ayers wife, or maybe when he had Obama elected to distribute moneys to radical school groups I don't know seems that nobody knows, Obama will throw Ayers under the bus with Pastor Wright and the whacko Father who spouts his mouth. Now All of you Obama supporters get together and tell us that do not know" When did Obama know that Ayers was a terrorist? I know about middle class economy I know about Obama saying that he doesn't not The Pastor or the Father even though he got many a earmarks for the 2. |

Why does John have to say anything to Obama's Face. Why doesn't he just admit to his wrong doings? Why does the republican party have to continually babysit and spank Dems for their wrong doing. You are supporting a man who won't own up to what he does. Libs/dems can't accept responsibility for any action, so why now and why does he have to be told? Your party if you had an once of integrity would make him tell all of you! You are the ones trying to get him into the White House, doesn't it matter to you what he does or has done? Obama and Osama have one thing in common, they both know someone who has bombed the Pentagon! Liberalism is the Philosophy of the Stupid! |

unacceptable, why not try to make McCain Palin acceptable. It seems that the McCain campaign has this all wrong. They got it wrong by broadcasting that they were going negative, a clear signal of desperation. It looks like its time to stick a fork in McCain...hes done! |

McCain wont just talk about the economy. This new strategy where he sics his wife and Sarah on Obama and Biden and just sits back makes him look weak and cowardly |
|
Right now McCain is running only attack ads. What does he have left to throw at Obama? Nothing.
When Independents and swing voters see "That One" they don't see all this guilt-by-association nonsense. They see a thoughtful guy explaining his policies in a much clearer fashion than McCain.
McCain's approach to huge problems, like the housing crisis, has been all over the map. He's erratic, foolish, losing, and about to get hammered on Nov 4.
The best part is that he's likely to drag the entire Republican ticket down with him.

Calling out McCain is probably the dumbest thing he could have done. You don't wake the sleeping giant. You let the giant sleep. Now, he basically made it that McCain will call him out for his ties to everything at the next debate. Yes, Barack may have a comeback - but McCain will be able to have his attack heard by about 50-60 million people. Right now, the attacks by McCain and Palin are heard by a very few people, since most people get their news from the MSM.
Barack shouldn't have called him out. He shouldn't of showed his hand (hasn't he done this before), he should have just ignored the statements and kept to his line of - he was a guy in the neighborhood. If you are in the lead, act like you are in the lead. If you think America is the light upon the hill, then act like it. If you think you will be president, act like you will be president. Calling out someone like you want to fight them - "Say it to my face" is childish. If you want to be a child - act like a child.
Makes me believe that Barack thinks he is going to lose. Makes me believe that Barack is going to look like an idiot at the next debate. Makes me believe that this may be the biggest mistake since - Ross Perot dropping out and then rejoining the election - - |

Yes, by all means, McCain should accept Barry's challenge if nothing more than just calling his bluff. If Barry is man enough, and I doubt it, then the two of them, McCain & "that one", can have a "face-to-face", last man standing, no holds barred mud slinger and the country can decide for themselves who has character enough to be our President.
However, I doubt Barry is anything more that rhetoric and will back down if challenged directly.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to have Sarah'cuda challenge Ole Joe to the same "say it to my face" type of debate.
Damn, this is getting good -- I'd pay big to see this brawl! |

McCain's record is out there for us to see: His ties to Iran/Contra, Keating Five, and special interest lobbyists.
While he claims to be against earmarks, McCain has advocated for funds for his state through legislation that would work for his Native American constituents, and therefore basically are the definition of "earmarks".
I can't imagine where Carol is getting her information regarding her claim that Obama's pre-Senate paper trail is missing. Where are the links and documentation proving that point? But, still one has to consider the idea that she is upset over missing documents given the fact that we STILL can't seem to bring the WH to account for over 5 million emails that are PIVOTAL in the DoJ scandals. This administration has been THE MOST secretive in history - even rivaling Nixon. And yet, I don't recall Carol finding this a problem. |

[JOHN ]McCain/Palin want you to cast your vote based on fear while Obama/Biden want you to vote for the belief that things can be better.
[TWO POUND] Actually McCain/ Palin want you to cast your vote because you give a crap where this country goes in the future while Obama/Biden want you to cast your vote because they picked up the endorsment of Hammas last week. |

asking him to hit Obama with everything but the kitchen sink? Or is Mc Cain a coward when it comes to facing Obama in person? |

"It’s not easy to make Rudy Giuliani look like a class act. But both McCain and Palin have managed to do it quite handily. While Rudy (on at least one occasion) had the decency to chide an audience member for connecting Democrats with terrorists, McCain and Palin apparently feel no such compunction. Why do I say that? Because they greet anti-Obama audience-shouts like “Treason,” “Terrorist!” and “Kill!” with silence.
McCain And Palin Make Rudy Look Like A Class Act By Madeleine Begun Kane
John McCain, I sure hope that you’re proud: You and Palin prompt rage in a crowd. Your supporters shout swill: “Treason!” “Terrorist!” “Kill!” Even Rudy would say: Not allowed!" |

and sarah palin and then run and hide. John McCain couldn't stand up to Bush when Bush slandered his family 8 years ago. Dont get me wrong I liked John McCain last years when he was running against Mitt Romney. I thought he was an honorable man. But the man that stands there today is not the same guy. this guy has sold his soul to win the election. Nothing left but the shell of a tired old man.

John Mccain, a man who spent 5 years in a box, being beaten is afraid of talking to Obama face to face? BS, John will talk to anyone face to face, but, it is hard to talk to somebody who lies and deny's on a daily basis. Obama will never admit to his wrong doings, whether he is talked to face to face or in and ad. Mccain, will be accused of being racial no matter what or how he does things. I think all the Dem/Libs out there that have one ounce of honesty will look into everything that is being said about Obama! Dems/Libs won't because they don't want to face the truth about who they elected. At least with Hillary, you knew where she stood! Whether she be good or bad. Dems you should have demanded Hillary be your choice, too bad you had to find out too late that Obama is nothing but a Chicago Thug and you know it! |
