Huckabee Chairman Ed Rollins Unleashed...AGAIN
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 10:19 PM
Earlier this afternoon, our National Political Reporter Amanda Carpenter could help but overhear an animated Ed Rollins in a downtown Des Moines diner.  She filed a story about a very honest Ed Rollins assessing the race in Iowa and the other candidates.

The Drudge Report linked to the story and Fox News' Chris Wallace obviously saw the story and -- half-way through the victory interview with Ed Rollins -- asks him to confirm or deny the story.   Video below -- a good interview goes bad at 2mins15secs.

Congratulations Huck
Good game.

Maybe we'll see you in the playoffs.

Here's The Theme Of The Punditry
"Polls showed more than 8 in 10 of Mike Huckabee’s supporters described themselves as evangelicals."

How is the Huck going to overcome being classified as the "evangelical" candidate going forward. Identity politics will backfire on him big time. I suspect in about 5 days the jeers from the Hucksters will turn to tears as they reflect that it was fun while it lasted.

In states with five or ten per cent evangelical supporters, I wonder how the Huck will do? Let's see if these fantastic followers start opening up their wallets and start pouring in the millions in donations necessary for Huck to compete in the next few states.

My guess is the Huck will fizzle fast. I doubt most Americans will be as gullible as this handful of religious fanatics in Iowa. Frankly I am embarrassed for Iowan's, their credibility with me is now zero.

whiners
Why doesn't townhall.com just announce that Romney won? That's what they believe. The voters don't matter, what matters is who has the most money, and that's Romney. What a sleaze job to report on a couple's private conversation and for Fox to ask him about it. Rollins had the right to get crantankorous.

Huckabee won, get over it townhall.

How Do You Spell Papparazzi?
No biggie here. Rollins said it, figures it was taped anyway, stands by it. Nothing strange here. What is weird is the stalker Amanda Carpenter playing gotcha in eavesdropping on couples. Maybe she wants to be a papparazzi. Now if I could only spell that... Amanda has a big future as a gossip columist with Drudge.

Huck thinks he's Christ, Rollins = Satan
I love Brit's comment at the end. Rollins is a crusty old man, yet he's the perfect henchman for the corrupt preacher with a "positive" message. Give me a break.

Mitt would have won without preachers
Let's see, The Huckster got 34 percent, Mitt 25%. Evangelicals were 60 percent of the caucus-goers this year, compared with 40 percent in 2004. If my math is correct, if we exclude the extra 20 percent which were hyped by the Evangelical pastors to go to the polls to keep that "heretic" (Mitt) from gaining the nomination, the Huckster would have had 22 percent, and Mitt would have won.

Is my math correct? Why must Evangelical pastors be so negative - they don't sound like Christians to me

Secured Defeat
This week has secured Huckabee's overall defeat. It is a shame Iowa was to late to catch on.
