When Good Love Goes Bad

Liberals are upset that Barack Obama's high profile Cabinet choices have been centrists.
It's possible they needn't worry. An awful lot of policymaking is done at sub-Cabinet level, and it's entirely likely that the less high profile appointments will be substantially to the left of those we've already seen.
What's more, if you look at the Harvard classmates with whom Obama has surrounded himself, they are true blue liberals (a couple of them, Tom Perelli and Chris Lu, are very fine people). From his history, that (and even left of it) is the milieu in which Obama seems most comfortable.
All that being said, as I argued here last week, apparently Obama understands that America is a center-right country. And he knows that the left is never, ever going really going to turn on him. To twist an old aphorism, he doesn't need to buy the left a cow, because he's almost always going to get its milk for free.

Go back to your history books and look at the meaning of left wing politics versus right wing and you will see that I merely point out the truth. And global warming is a lie in the sense that CO2 is the culprit which is absolutely laughable but it is another unrelated discussion at best. When it comes to the war on terror, McCain was center right, everything else he was very center left. We had two Democrats running this year. Only difference was one was a Rhino, the other was a Donkey. |
|
"They were both left of center, one more so than the other."
Purely your definition.
"4. Believes in the lie known as global warming"
Heh.
"Also, who's going to pay for the subsidized government health care plan for all Americans?"
I'm long retired, so I'd say: you are. |
|
Since when was McCain center right? Because he believed on fighting a war on terror? This is what happens when you run to incumbent senators in a race for president. You end up with statesman not leaders!
They were both left of center, one more so than the other. For Mcain:
1. Voted against bush tax cuts 2. Supports an open border amnesty policy (Even sided with Ted Kennedy on an immigration bill!) 3. Ran a campaign against ear marks yet voted for the most ear mark ridden bail out bill in the history of the US. 4. Believes in the lie known as global warming 5. Suggested a bailout for bad mortgages 6. Favors a cap and trade system
How much different is this really from Obama? The only difference is that on top of supporting the bailout Obama also wants even MORE ear mark spending for infrastructure! Where's the money for that going to come from huh? You got an answer? And then his insane tax plan which includes raising the capital gains tax! Then the liberals want people to continue to invest in the stock market while they will be taxed significantly more on their profits due to raised capital gains tax? This surely must be some kind of sick joke. Also, who's going to pay for the subsidized government health care plan for all Americans? Have you thought about that one too? |
|
Are you kidding me - "centrist"?
The term must have been redefined when I wasn't looking. |
|
|
|
that does not make John Mccain a liar or dishonorable.
you may disagree with his positions but he is a truthful honorable man.
you do not want to be disabused of your hatred so you will turn on your own first.
there is something lacking about that. |
|
you quote John McCain as saying that he didn't believe Obama was a Socialist....... McCain's judgment is suspect...... He wanted open borders... and illegal alien amnesty... and closing Gitmo.....
Just because RINO McCain says it doesn't make it so...... |
|
can you believe the Dem/libs voted in someone so immoral as to smoke cigarettes?!!! hahahahaha
ex-smoker me as well... |
|
is we knew what we were getting.
what do you think all obama'a talk about bi-partisan was about.
many conservatives got caught up in the radical leftist narrative that was only a political ploy and believed that is who obama was.
dems and liberals knew better.
if we wanted a leftist we would have nominated bernie sanders of vermont.
the week before the election john mccain was asked by larry king if he "really" thought obama was a socialist and he said "no".
he understood that it was simply a campaign ploy. |
|
Tell the truth.. the whole truth.. and anything but the truth.. bob and weave.. " I quit smoking " For the flight time? Or for good ? Such discipline! I knew he was sneaking out behind the barn.. we ex-smokers know these things ! White House.. order in the feebreeze.. and mentos in all corners ! |
|
Hey, what's that smell? It's Bob's desperation. hahahaha.
The country rejected New Coke and chose the Real Thing, that's true. But then Obama, the learner that he is, got the 411 from Bush and changed up a few of his ideas. He's also smart enough to NOT repeat Billy Jeff's and Hillary's mistake of lurching Left outta the gate.
hahahahaha. The Guilty White Libs are still fools. hahahahahaha |
|
Obama was nominated over Hillary based on his promises. He beat McCain based on his promises. Not his experience. Now, he's dancing away from a lot of him promises.
Ah, the fun of it all... |

"Liberals are upset that Barack Obama's high profile Cabinet choices have been centrists."
No we aren't.
"apparently Obama understands that America is a center-right country."
As a result of which the country rejected a center-right maverick and elected the most liberal senator in the history of the universe. Do you even notice when your inane declarations stand in direct contradiction to each other?
There's an interesting graph showing how the absurd talking-point "America is a center-right country" spread among the right-wing talking heads and typing fingers in the hours and days after the election. It shows how you people mindlessly parrot each other, a kind of "Six degrees of Carl Rove." |
|
The Obama Zombies, who played a large role in electing him, are now going to find out how it feels to be double-crossed. To all the overwhelming mass of youth out there that blindly supported Comrade Obama: you are now going to find out how your parents feel..... They feel that you betrayed them by voting for "The One".... |

precedes the performance and you are watching the show through a scrim which, depending upon the lighting, can make objects look opaque, transparent or foggy. |
|
|
Ludacrisp, Louie and Jesse are still waiting for Obama to nominate people who look and act like them. hahahaha. wow, what CHANGE! hahahahaha W looks like soul brother #2 compared to Obama. hahahahahaha |
