More Brilliant Econ Advice from the Hill
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 8:32 AM
We have no savings in this country and are in the midst of a crisis created by easy credit.

So Barney Frank, in arguing for a second stimulus package, says "we have to prop up consumption."

There needs to be a backlash against these people. Those angry men at McCain's rallies need to start storming the Capitol.

Vote Them All Out
Our government is beholden to those who have been bribing them. Throw them all out or expect more of the same.

Palin investigates herself and clears herself of any wrongdoing - shades of Bush. Turns out, there is much there to make any self-respecting state call for impeachment.

By the way, Palin belongs to a Dominionist church full of theocratic lunatics and has a husband in the Alaskan Independence Party, and McCain attends fundraisers for supporters of anti-abortion homicidal lunatics - but it's OBAMA's associations that are "unamerican" and "dangerous"?

At this point
I don't think Barney Frank should open his mouth. He should sit there quietly and pray he gets to keep his job (which he SHOULD not have!)

agree with american sweetheart
Well said. Barney Frank just can't help himself and his comments are so frightening because if he is delusional about the state of the economy it makes you wonder how sane he was the past few years in making the decisons that put us and the world in this place. The good news is that our assumptions that the congress was being run by a bunch of idiots has finally been validated.

The Lord is moving in Judgement upon U.S
I am among many in this country that believe that the Lord is moving in judgment upon the United States of America. We have never sunk so low in our country, we have removed the mention of God from every public place, we tolerate corruption and evil in our leadership, some states have legalized same sex marriage, we have been murdering 3000 babies a day since Roe vs Wade, over 40 million babies. We no longer believe that the Bible is true. America has turned their back on God and any country that turns their back on God will be judged. Blood pollutes the land, our land is polluted, greed is an idol, and God will not share His glory with no man. What happened to us? Our spiritual heritage is rich...
"The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven has ordained" George Washington, 1789 Inaugural Address
"I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessing on deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning... Benjamin Franklin, 1787, Constitutional Convention
"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever" Thomas Jefferson, 1781 Notes on the State of Virginia
"It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness..." Abraham Lincoln, 1863 Proclamation of National Fast

Hey Sherry
Yeah...let's just pray we can get the American people to vote out these people and get some POSITIVE change in the house! Because this congress is NOT working for anyone but theirselves. They aren't representing us and are in shady dealings that help their own pocket.

The rep from my district promised us he'd vote against the bailout and I checked and he did. So Tim Murphy, you get my vote for re-election!

I'm with you A. Sweetheart
I truly believe that there is an underlying rumbling going on out there and it will be 2006 all over again - but in reverse. I also believe that the majority of people out there who aren't blinded by the orations of the Democrat candidate, will go with the more seasoned and veteran candidate. I applaud McCain for bringing up the associations of BO. It is troubling information that sticks in the brain. His reputation has been marred by his own doings. I am from Chicago and for years the response from our corrupt politicans (and we have a host of them) when they get caught in the moment is "I had no idea". BO is practicing this method but apparently not working outside of Chicago.

STORMING THE CAPITAL BARRICADES
Amanda, are you inciting a revolution? But I doubt you meant it that way. I don't want the Feds coming after you.

Also, what's up with calling on the men only? Come on sister girl, grab your M-16 and lead the charge. "You've come a long way, Baby" LOL

Best wishes.

Least we forget
While we are ragging on the current congress, Frank, et al, because we are being led to believe THEY are the cause of this economic mess, let us remember our past congress and our current president.
Make sure you note the date of this news items from the past....2002.

Fannie Mae Pledges Continued Support for President Bush's Nationwide Effort to Increase...
Publication: Business Wire
Date: Tuesday, October 15 2002

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2002

"The Blueprint for the American Dream that we unveiled today is the response to the `homeownership challenge' President Bush issued in June to increase minority homeownership," said HUD Secretary Mel Martinez. "Our partners, representing every segment of the affordable housing industry, are committed to working together to achieve the President's goal of adding 5.5 million new minority homeowners by the end of the decade."

In his February State of the Union address President Bush called for "broader homeownership, especially among minorities." In June, President Bush challenged both the public and private sector to be a partner in his crusade to create 5.5 million new minority homeowners by the end of the decade.

Fannie Mae responded by committing $700 billion in home financing to 4.6 million minority households through 2009.

"Through our ten-point plan, Fannie Mae has pledged itself to an extraordinary set of goals, both to increase homeownership over the course of this decade and to break barriers between underserved families," Raines said. "We will reach out to all who have a stake in closing the housing gaps because together can we bring the American Dream of homeownership more in line with the American ideal of equality."

DID YOU CATCH THE PART WHERE THE FANNIE MAE PLAN WAS A RESPONSE TO PRES BUSH CHALLENGE FOR HIS CRUSADE?

Good offer. She probably needs to get outside The People's Republic of Northern Virginia for a sanity break anyway, so why not come on down and bust some caps.

CORRECTION
I misspelled Capitol in my previous post. Being a right wing capitAlist exploiter Reaganaut conservative, I reflexively spelled it with an 'A'. Talk about Freudian slips. LOL
