Health Care Vote Looms: Where Does Your Rep. Stand?
Posted by: Meredith Jessup at 3:20 PM
The Office of the Republican Whip has just published this comprehensive list of House Representatives who may still be on the fence about voting for or against Pelosi's health care overhaul.  Where does your representative stand?  Contact them through the Capitol Switchboard @ 202-224-2131.

As of today, at least 69 Democrats have expressed opposition to the Speaker’s health care bill. As the bill comes to the House floor, how many Democrats will stand up and vote against a health care bill that raises taxes, cuts benefits to seniors, and spends money that families and small businesses across America cannot afford? Full list after the jump.

When this system gets started, I am going to visit the doctor twice a day for each and every little ache and pain I experience to clog up the system and render it useless. I encourage everyone to do the same if not more to overload and quickly bankrupt the whole system, to get it eradicated ASAP!

It could never happen here.....right Nancy?

Neither could nationalizing healthcare, government takeovers of corporations and banks, a president who defends the Muslims but can't find the time to attend the National Day of Prayer....etc.

Off with their heads.....

THROW the AMISH in jail too - b2slim
Well there is at least something to possibly protect them - there is no CONSCIENCE PROTECTION CLAUSE to protect doctors or facilities from being forced to perform abortions but there is a section to protect people who refuse medical care for themselves and for CHILDREN -
SEC. 301. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY.

For an individual's responsibility to obtain acceptable coverage, see section 59B of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as added by section 401 of this Act). Must go to irs to find out responsibility??
Section 59B (5) RELIGIOUS CONSCIENCE EXEMPTION-

`(A) IN GENERAL- Subsection (a) shall not apply to any individual (and any qualifying child residing with such individual) for any period if such individual has in effect an exemption which certifies that such individual is a member of a recognized religious sect or division thereof described in section 1402(g)(1) and an adherent of established tenets or teachings of such sect or division as described in such section.

`(B) EXEMPTION- An application for the exemption described in subparagraph (A) shall be filed with the Secretary at such time and in such form and manner as the Secretary may prescribe. Any such exemption granted by the Secretary shall be effective for such period as the Secretary determines appropriate. ----- wouldn’t this say it is okay not to seek medical care for your children because of beliefs> didn’t another child just die from neglect from this kind of thing?

Short memories
Rep Weiner D-NY just gave his speech about the bill, he held up a book that is supposed to show how many plans he has available to choose from as a Federal Employee - pretty sizable book. Then he said he wished everyone was able to have these plans - HE FAILED TO POINT OUT THAT PRESIDENT BUSH ASKED THE DEM CONGRESS TO SUPPORT THIS VERY IDEA OF HIS AND THEY TRASHED HIM INTO NEXT YEAR. WHAT A HYPOCRITE, Weiner. One other thing about his rant, he just showed how out of touch and un-educated about Employee Health Insurance Plans he is especially his own FEDERAL Plan - the book of Plans he held up ONLY applies to those FEDERAL Employees in the DC area - many other federal employees only have a choice of TWO OR THREE PLANS depending on the STATE they are in because of few companies doing business in some states - WHY? STATE MANDATES!!!!
UNDERSTAND THIS - STATE MANDATES STILL HAVE PRECEDENCE IN THE PELOSI BILL.
They think they can fool us - we are not sheep.

The Angry gentlewomen
The democratic women are scathing in their remarks about the Stupak amendment - they are screaming mad that women will not have the 'option' to add abortion to their list of public benefits - one of them said women should have the option for this because no one plans to need coverage for abortions. If you don't plan for it why would you need it? I guess it says alot about what they find acceptable behavior. The number of females in support of murder is absolutely astounding!!!!
They are masking the fact that the Hyde Amendment is renewable in A DIFFERENT bill and is NOT invoked in this healthcare scam.
The Stupak amendment is losing. Now SHRED the bill.

Dirty dems
The proAbortion crowd is rallying now in opposition to the Stupak amendment. the amendment would not really ensure no federal funding as it has been laid out. many keep referring to 'womens' rights to abortion when in reality it is mostly girls having abortions.
here is a question for them: We now prosecute people for killing two people when they murder a pregnant female - so why is abortion/murder legal?

Other dirty news, Barney (I didn't know my partner was growing pot here)Frank has the nerve to call Michelle Bachman and the taxpayers outside of the Capitol names and ,mock them. He is the most disgusting piece of garbage on the hill.

The Constitutional Truth on the Matter
"We do not have two political parties in this country, America. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties. Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat.

When I recently asked Congressman James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, to tell me "Where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to regulate everyone's healthcare--, he replied that most of what Congress does is not authorized by the Constitution, but they do it anyway. There you have it. Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights, it doesn't care about the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, it doesn't even read the laws it writes.

America, this is not an academic issue. If this health care bill becomes law, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it, privacy as you have enjoyed it, will cease to be.

When Congress takes away our freedoms, they will be gone forever. What will you do to prevent this from happening?"

Lack of information
L.J. writes: those of you who want to give insurance companies the right to deny coverage for a preexisting conditions should just buy insurance from those insurance companies who clearly state "If you get into an accident or if you have a chronic illness where continuous medical care is needed or expensive medication is needed, we won't insure you." Go ahead and pay the premiums.

If you are only getting your info from the SSM then you don't know that depending on which bill they look at the dems have a minimum waiting period of 6 months for enrollment in coverage if you have a pre-existing condition - if you buy insurance you can get coverage for all other conditions while waiting for your pre-ex period to expire (12 to 24 months depending on your plan).
If you don't have insurance and develop a catastrophic condition there are many programs through hospitals, charities and states.
Best bet, stay covered and even if you lose coverage due to unemployment buy an individual low coverage plan - you then have 'continuous coverage' and avoid a gap for pre-ex clauses to kick in.

Will is one of those who think "the end justifies the means; if you have to lie, steal, cheat, etc.... to win, all's fair in love and war."

I just called the Speakers office and someone answered so they are there today. After the ‘how can I help you’ I stated that I ‘was watching the goings on the cspan coverage and wanted to voice my...’ then I was cut off and the voice mail message came on. I was not rude, loud or discourteous (leave that for the speaker). This shows the true colors of these people - I left a message saying I think they should shred the bill since it does nothing to help the uninsured right now and by 2013 they won’t need it since the current house will be gone and the country will be saved from their selfishness. I said they were cowards who were only acting in their interest to payback the unions and Acorns for the election.

For everyone else, we'll have universal health care. It's a done deal in one form or another. It's one of the major reasons Obama was elected -- that's what people in the U.S. wanted.

Working out the details will be tough and will take some doing but rest assured it WILL happen.

And here's another tidbit: Once enacted it's here to stay. NO ONE will be able to win an election by saying "I'm running on the principle of Healthcare for only those who can afford it." No poor or elderly people will receive it. If elected, I'm taking it away.

Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. People celebrated then. They celebrated diminishing the powers of gov't because they experienced the tyranny of what you think is so wonderful. As for health care "reform"- the current 2,000 page monster does nothing to "reform" health care, and everything to simple limit its availability and increase the cost.

As for me, I have a good handle on homeopathy and holistic medical interventions. My suggestion is that you do the same. This has to happen; you gibbering, spoiled fools have to destroy this country before you come to understand what you are losing.

We need to be watching all actions they are taking and call in or email our opinions and/or concerns on each issue. they just turned down a proposal to add a citizen - yes or no - question to the census. since house seats are allocated by population it should be done by using figures for legal citizens who are (or will be) eligible to vote. We vote to send these reps to DC to act in our interest don't we? Healthcare Control
Of course the issue at hand is control. The elected representatives that have gained the majority know what's best for you and me. They know how to run the car industry and the financial industry. Now they would like to run the health industry. Even though Medicare (government run) rejects more insurance claims than any private insurer, the government knows best. Oh wait, the insurance companies are thieves. How dare they make a 2.2 percent profit in their industry. How well did Medicare do? Wait they just forced me to pay into a poorly run plan that I may never get to use. Kind of rings a bell like social security. Cute name but as a government FORCED option if I could choose to put that money where I want I'd have no worries upon retirement. Instead they predict that the well will run dry there. Oh wait, there is no well it's a desert stream.

Reform by opening up the market place, reducing fraud and abuse, implementing tort reform. I vote yes. Forcing government taxed healthcare at a cost of 1 trillion over ten years. Absolutely not. Those in favor should be ashamed of yourselves for creating that kind of debt for your children.

Utopianism (socialism/communism)
Utopianism (socialism/communism)
The Democrat party is the Utopianism party.
The Party members of course will enforce this dream of a Utopia (Heaven on Earth) by means of an economic tyranny. This is their fallacious Creed: Everyone is equal; therefore no one may own more than anyone else in order to have peace in their Utopia. Of course, the Party Members, the High Priests of Utopianism, are entitled to a little more wealth and perks than the proletariat because of all the study, preparation, conniving, scheming, and work that they must do in order preserve the Utopia from attack by the 20% of the people that make their Utopia function and know, at the same time, that they are being screwed by the Party Members.
Corollaries of the Utopian Doctrine (Religion)
1. Everyone is basically equal in the eyes of the State; therefore, ability and effort are not entitled to any special reward in terms of wealth (except Party Members)
2. Competition is to be de-emphasized in order that no one feels inferior.
3. Scholarships will be awarded according to the political needs of the State and not on the basis of ability.
4. Promotions and rewards in occupations will be distributed according to the needs of the State and not on the basis of individual ability and productivity.
5. Political speech will be regulated in order that the disturbing ideas of individualism, capitalism, competition, Christianity, Judaism, and other religions may not upset the tranquility of the Utopia. The exception to this rule is that Party Members may draw from non-party doctrines certain ideas that they deem of benefit to the State.

60% support public option in pretty much every state.

Where can I see this poll?

The members of congress should support the will of the people, which is clearly for health care reform.

Do you really think the insurance companies care whether you live or die or whether they meet their dollar figures and percentages. I think Pelosi cares more about you than the insurance ceo.

celebrate what!
Tyler,
Two trillion dollars later Big Brother controlling every part of our lives and around the same without insurance, boy am I going to party now.
Now who should I lay off because I can’t afford National Health Care?

You liberals are the one's that needs to pull the tinfoil hat off your head. You are so blind. You really think Pelosi and Reid give 2 shakes about your healthcare your a fool. This is all about the only thing Liberals like Pelupi understand. Stealing other peoples money. TAX TAX TAX. I guess when your a welfare baby like you clearly are, you really don't give a damn about stealing from someone else to pay for another person whose only excuse is laziness.

Stand
My representative stands against the bill; however, being a Republican it doesn't matter. Republicans will not be represented again until after the 2010 elections when they will again be the majority. After that, we will clean up the RINO's and the pseudo Republican representatives.

What happened in 1993? Right wing extremists poured millions into indoctrinating the gullible and it worked. Obama is the man, he won't let it happen this time.

Actually,
it's about health care. Take off the tinfoil hat and come out of your bunker.

It won't come to a vote any time soon. The lying Speaker-of-the-House, the "most transparent House ever," the whack-job San Francisco be-atch, will hold it up. They can't afford a failure at this juncture. I hope they try to vote it through. It'll be 1993 all over again.

BTW. You can't be as stupid as you sound in your posts, can you? You must be posting tongue-in-cheek, right. Just wondering.

For the last and final time. THis bill isn't about health care, is about government control of your pathetic little lemming life. I suppose you like having some loser like pelosi deciding whether you are worth enough to society to justify spending money to save your life. Most of the rest of us Aren't comfortable with that.
Tyler writes: Friday, November, 06, 2009 4:23 PM
Don't bother
tieing up the phone lines.

Health care reform is going to pass and then we can all celebrate!

Health Care & Cap & Trade
This great country has seen many trials and has overcome many obstacles since its' founding; but never has it had such anti American direction since 1776. If Congress and the Senates' appointees are not spineless, then it's time they overwhelmingly Vote Against the current Health Bill. It's their turn to Vote now, but it's the citizens turn next!
