Bringing "Light Unto the World"

British commentator Gerard Baker skewers the Obamessiah this morning in the Times of London.
Watching news footage of Barack's Berlin speech last night, it wasn't just his reference to being a "citizen of the world" (a goo-goo term particularly beloved by the left) that irked me.
Rather, it was the sheer presumptuousness of an American presidential candidate apologizing for his country not having "perfected itself." No doubt, if Barack is elected, we'll all get to do plenty of bowing and scraping before the likes of Germany and France -- with apologies to everyone simply for existing, using energy and (as he implicitly did yesterday) presuming to remove a dictator whom the entire world believed to have weapons of mass destruction and trying to bring a second stable, democratic government to the Middle East.
But he's not president yet. There's a formality known as an "election," and it strikes me that Barack overstepped by seeking to elicit the impression that he was speaking as much, much more than another U.S. senator. How 'bout winning the election before presuming to represent America to the rest of the world?

a liberal. What took you so long Kim? King Lib, you took over an hour! Geez. Oh, that's right, I forgot, most liberals don't have a real job like the rest of us. Must have just rolled out of bed. |

He is a United States Senator.
He does kind of represent the nation to the world or at least he represents a branch that is co-equal to the President.
I find the spectacle distasteful, and I don't really care for Congressional (or Presidential) globetrotting for photo-ops, but I'm not particularly galled by the fact that a Senator opts to speak to foreigners.

...will lead us all into singing the new International Anthem: "God Dam* America." |

died this morning. He was a true light in our world. God speed. |

In orde for Obama paloza world peace tour to get the kind of audience he had in Berlin, he had to provide free beer and a pre-messiah rockconcert from two of Germany's most popular performers. Otherwise, it would have been Obama, 3 men in Lederhosen and a beermaide with too much makeup.
Also, several reports said many, many of the attendees of the Obama paloza world peace tour were stoned and druck. Guess you'd have to be to fall for the Obamamessiah persona. |

When world folks are in trouble, who do they call? they call the United States of America, that's who. Why? Because we kick butt on the world front. You don't have to like us, but when you need us, were there. |

about this guy the more I believe Jesse Jackson's course of action could be an advisable one...he needs no testis. The fact that he invented a need not to visit the troops if said visit couldn't be use to further his political campaign should give mause to anyone thinking about voting for this guy....It really compels one to want to put his pants down and check to see what gender group this amorphous mass of yellow jello belongs to. |
|
When all is said and done, the historical volumes of President Bush achievements will need many books to encompass it...in the case of an Obama Presidency all he would need is one 5x3 white card which will says..."We surrender"

Not only did this guy skewer The Obamessiah, he also taught The New Yorker what satire really is!

one does not badmouth their own country when one is abroad. That explains Obama and Dem/libs in general. i still don't understand why these bright lights don't move to these other wonderful, perfected countries already.
Also, weren't y'all embarassed that Barack went to all these foreign countries, didn't speak their language, and all's he could say was "Merci Beaucoups"? i know i was. |
|
Oslamamessiah blathering the commie mantra,"citizen of the world", all the while making apologist derogatory comments about America, angers the hell outta me! |
|

Has Obama taught his children Spanish? |
