Obama "Heated" Over Born Alive

The Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody is promising a "heated" interview with Barack Obama over "born alive" legislation. Brody snagged the interview right after Obama walked off the stage at Saddleback.
"He got pretty heated when I brought up the Born Alive Infant Protection Act," Brody blogged. "Wait until you see his response." Brody also says Obama said he believe the McCain campaign was trying to scare people into believing he was the "anti-Christ."
The video is supposed to be up sometime later tonight. If it's everything Brody is promising, I'm sure it will be sent straight to Drudge. I'll keep you updated. Here's some background on the latest controversy with this vote.
Update 11:33pm: Brody's video is up. Watch it. The born alive discussion is near the beginning of the second half of the interview. Obama does get angry.
Obama accuses the National Right to Life Committee of "lying" about his vote. (Here's all their documentation, the relevent vote record is HERE.) But if the National Right to Life Committee is lying, why is there an AP news story (PDF HERE) confirming their so-called lie? The story clearly documents a vote in the Illinois State Health and Human Services Committee, which he chaired at that time, against born alive legislation that included protection for Roe v. Wade. This news story is also easilly accessed by nexis. Obama's researchers should know about it, but I don't think Obama knows any of these damning documents exist and thinks he can keep covering up this part of his record.
Excellent interview, Brody. Too bad you didn't get a follow up. The AP story proves Obama is the one who is lying, not the NRLC.

This is an area where most people and legislators have consensus/agreement. Obama did not agree with the majority of the Congress on this issue or the majority of the American people. And, like John Edwards, Obama is calling his detractors liars when there is plenty of public documentation to prove he's the liar. |

The contrast was striking throughout each man’s one-hour time on stage. When Warren asked Obama, “What’s the most gut-wrenching decision you’ve ever had to make?” Obama answered that opposing the war in Iraq was “as tough a decision that I’ve had to make, not only because there were political consequences but also because Saddam Hussein was a bad person and there was no doubt he meant America ill.” But Obama was a state senator in Illinois when Congress authorized the president to use force in Iraq. He didn’t have to make a decision on the war. That fact was a recurring issue in the Democratic primaries, when candidates Hillary Clinton, Joseph Biden, Christopher Dodd, and John Edwards argued that they, as senators, had to make a choice Obama didn’t have to make. And now he says it’s his toughest call.
When McCain got the question, he was able to tell an old story with a sense of gravity and poignancy that he seldom shows in public. He described his time as a prisoner of war, when he was offered a chance for early release because his father was a top naval officer. “I was in rather bad physical shape,” McCain told Warren, but “we had a code of conduct that said you only leave by order of capture.” So McCain refused to go. He made the telling even more forceful when he added that, “in the spirit of full disclosure, I’m very happy I didn’t know the war was going to last for another three years or so.” In one moment, he showed a sense of pride and a hint of regret, too; he came across as a man who did the right thing but not without the temptation to take an easy out. In any event, the message was very clear: John McCain has had to make bigger, more momentous decisions in his life than has Barack Obama.

Their seeing his lack of concern or conscience about leaving babies to die, gives them all-the-more confidence that he will support their own individual brands of moral terpitude.
The very things we are appalled at, are the very things that attract the "special interests" groups that support such a candicacy. Abortion-on-demand, man-to-man marriage, homosexual adoption [influence] over children...etc.
That Obama supports even infanticide [in the name of a woman's choice] assures all other perversions [under his & his Party's administration] will be as likely to be even more than merely permissable; they will be officially condoned.
Don't expect liberals to care about innocent babies being left to die in hospital storerooms. To them it is an acceptable sacrifice to make if their own selfish perversions can be, likewise, allowed. This is the kind of society so-called "progressives" want to make of America.

Warren & Mack had good chemistry. Maybe it was just my imagination, but I thought Warren was antsy and bored with Obama's long-winded responses and impatiently wanted him to move on.
Warren's made his name and fortune getting it right with "holy entertainment." He understands how easily people are bored or lose interest in what you're saying if you can't keep it sharp, entertaining and to the point. |

I flipped between Fox and CNN... then turned off the TV and gave up. CNN trotted out David Gergen and Roland Martin... who were trying desperately to find flaw with McCain. My favorite quote was from the CNN host (forgot his name) who said, "When we come back from commercial, we'll try to talk some about McCain, since we've been spending so much time on Obama". HA!!!

I watched the post forum on Fox news. It was a joke. Carl Cameron... did we watch the same forum? Carl Cameron made it sound like it was a close call. Carl said Barack seemed very comfortable in the church setting. I didn't see the comfort he was experiencing. I saw Barack trying very hard to pander to the right without completely abandoning his liberal views. It didn't happen. He clearly demonstrated that he is liberal. I think Fox was really trying too hard to be fair and balanced, because the final tally was not balanced. It was tilted to John McCain, big time! |

Up til now I have been a nose-holding Mack voter. Tonight I saw a warm, delightful, touching, decisive Mack, especially clear on the abortion issue.
Ann Lewis described Barack as "post modern, nuanced and thoughtful." I saw him to be emotionally detached, rambling, boring, longwinded and evasive.
The smiling, earnest Mack got lots of applause and laughter. Barack, very little. Don't let the spinmeisters tell you Barack did well.

Barry's character references are Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko, Mayor Daley, Saul Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis, Malcolm X, and Farakahn. His judgment is unknown because he can't keep a position on anything for more than an hour, and his experience is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for the sake of argument (and since I admittedly haven't done complete research on the issue), I will accept Obama's response at face value and refer to it as fact. He voted against the bill because it was redundant. It was already covered on a federal level and by a different state bill. Fine. Let's move on.
What the hell is with him playing the constant victim? "Why did you vote against this bill?" It's a valid question! No one on earth knows why he voted the way he did. All he has to do is answer the question. But that is too much to expect from him. He voted the way he voted, he is always right and it is unfair, unethical, slanderous and racist to question him.
Same in context with the interview. Question his policies= personal attacks and everyone is a liar who is out to get him.
Let try this in a way he may understand. Mr. Obama, we mortals cannot be expected to comprehend the depth of your divine and omnipotent judgment. Those of us who are such heretics as to think and not blindly follow your majestic path, have questions and seek enlightenment so that we too can proclaim your greatness. This involves explaining why you have done things that, to us blasphemers, seem completely senseless, ridiculous and/ or against our beliefs. If you would deem to lower yourself for a moment to the bitter, huddling masses; who cling to our guns and religion... please answer a question with something other than, "uuhh...ummm... I have always said... err..." We cannot understand the tongue of The One, especially when you change your answer daily. We are simple people, who were not able to attend college because we didn't qualify for affirmative action. Our deprived upbringing did not include exclusive private schools. |

Will the MSM call him on his statement about abortion rates? He claimed that abortion rates have not declined during the time that Bush has been in office, when rates have fallen to their lowest point since the early 1970s. Granted, it could be argued that the decline has nothing to do with the Bush administration's policies, but that's not what Obama said. He made a gross factual error, and should have known better than to make a claim that is so easily checked. Maybe fact-checking is above his paygrade. |
