Pork By Any Other Name

President Obama is not thinking about a second "stimulus" bill (yet), according to unnamed officials.

Well, maybe he doesn't need to. Because it sounds as though the Democrats are going to throw plenty of the same kind of pork into the "health reform" bill they are trying to pass. Right now, the bill contains funding for playground lights, bike paths, and other assorted goodies.

Once upon a time, Democrats funded such things as part of the Clinton crime bill -- remember midnight basketball?

Moral of the story: There will always be wasteful spending wherever there is government, especially when Democrats are in control. Call it health, call it crime. What it really is: A boondoggle, funded by the overtaxed and underappreciated US taxpayer.

Second Stimulus?
They have only spent $58 billion of the first $785 billion. This is becoming more and more out of control by the day.

First was just to cover the libs long waiting wish lists. Nothing to do with stimulus. Now the country is tanking and they know full well that the first package was never meant to stimulate so they are trying to regroup. What the heck maybe they can pass a couple of trillion this time. They will just keep printing money backed up by nothing. Real smart move.

lesson of the past quarter century
Republicans are equally--perhaps more--inept when it comes to managing government waste. also, small or large, government is inherently inefficient. it is just that small government leaves vast patches of human activity unregulated. and as touching as Republican sentiments towards the goodness of men are, it turns out that the animal appetites produce terrible public outcomes. not saying government is the answer. just sayin' that Reep conceits on this is getting tiresome. esp. fiscal responsibility. you are not comparatively fiscally responsible. on the contrary, your team used the inefficiency of government to justify your own corruption and moral ineptitude.

Sorry...bit of sarcasm in my post. haha I never ever thought of this as anything more than a massive spending spree by the govt. This is like giving your 16 year old daughter your credit card the way they are acting. It must be nice to spend money that isn't theirs against our will.
