RNC Chair On Scuzzyfuzzy's Floundering
Posted by: Jillian Bandes at 5:04 PM
Micheal Steele on Cavuto, talking about NY-23:
The reality is that [Sozzafava] was selected by eleven County Chairman, and there was not a primary process here....As the national chairman, I dont have the luxury of picking my nominees... my responsibility is just to help them get elected.
On the prospects for Hoffman despite Scozzy's slap in the face:
Despite this cynical maneuver.. I think we have a real good chance here to keep this thing going.
On how badly Scozzy's move looks for his RNC:
Is there a little egg on your face in the process? Yes. Is a lot of the base bothered by this? Yes. But it's a local process... [and] parties need to be careful how outsiders come in and dictate [local elections]. Do you want people from New York going to Florida and saying, 'I dont like who you picked?'
On the future direction of the GOP:
The bottom line is this: the party is broadly based. I'm trying to move this party along, embracing everyone.
He used the example of "good ying and yang" to describe the balance between right-leaning conservatism and moderate conservatism co-existing within the Republican Party.

I'd say there's quite a bit more yang right now.

Good work!
Please keep up the attacks on Republicans. "Scuzzyfuzzy," that's inventive! All of you need to step up your efforts to drive the entire Republican party further to the right.

So Steele.....
"As the national chairman, I dont have the luxury of picking my nominees... my responsibility is just to help them get elected"

Should say... a Val get herself nominated....well...... you going to stand behind that statement?

Oh wait.... a Val did get nominated and you stood by that statment.

Take a hike pal.

Hey. Do you think the Justice Brothers will organize a protest if we throw Steele under the bus?
Tazzmax writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 11:47 PM
Sleele was a wimpy loser
from the "get go"!

The RINO powers that be are the direct cause of Steele being selected, ...thought they were being clever and "PC" by picking a minority and ignoring the fact that he was a liberal.

Their "Big Tent" is a crock of BS and no matter how much pandering they do,...they'll lose 'cause they've driven off the conservative base.

GOP/RINOs/ RIP.

Steele's best argument
being...What?

Is Michael Steele running for the "Robert Gibbs of the Republican Party?

"Is there a little egg on your face in the process? Yes. Is a lot of the base bothered by this? Yes. But it's a local process... [and] parties need to be careful how outsiders come in and dictate [local elections]. Do you want people from New York going to Florida and saying, 'I dont like who you picked?"

I don't want some skinny botozed-up Fascist biitch from San Fransissyo, California coming to Illinois saying, "I don't like the Health Insurance you picked" but I'm STUCK with one because the homos out there thinks she's the cat's meow. AND I don't like who they picked!

Don't call me an outsider...you stupid wimp!

Washington's Corrupt Doesn't Get It,,,
The election process was corrupted a long time ago by both parties in order to make sure only incumbants had any chance at elected to office.People today are saying put up who you want.Wer're not going to play in a game with corrupt rules anymore.

So we the people are putting up our own candidates and voting for them. All the progressive rino's are all on the same page,it makes it easy to shoot them all down come election time."

Bingo! What the hell does Nancy Pelosi have to do with Healthcare in Illinois?

I know I sure didn't vote for the biitch.

The American people have the absolute right to get involved in any election when the person getting elected votes on national issues.

RNC Chair on Scazzafava
Steel stikes me as incompetent. Newt and Boehner certainly took their eyes off the ball. What is the so-called leadership of the RNC doing to prevent Dems, ACORN etc from election fraud? What? What!!!???

Conservatives will have to sort things out for ourselves, and support conservative candidates of integrity.
FinalRac writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 7:36 PM
Steele, John B, Newt, RNC, Sessions
Look, these guys above all made a huge mistake. They , at least , unlike the DNC or any Dems, apologized for their stupidity and all , all endorsed Hoffman today. And Doug, will serve with the GOP. Now we need to see the GOP realize that it is a Center-Right Party who will take in moderates if: they will accept Reagan-like views, on history, the Const. , freedom, liberty, and unlike the socialist pacifist Dems who freeze out conservatives and other Center right people like the so called Blue Dogs, the GOP will be the Big Tent Mike wants. Even John Boehner today confessed he blew it and then said he would support Hoffman and his views. And since Babs Boxer today is marking up Cap and Trade without the GOP, the House will have to face that disaster with as many anti-tax and spending people it can garner. Hoffman will be such a one unless the Dems steal that election as they will in NJ. If I were Doug, I'd have lawyers with guns watching ACORN and SEIU not only there but he better call Christie to do the same in NJ.

Steele's got it caught
Steele's ended up with his ying-yang caught in a wringer.
TrickleupPolitics writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 7:05 PM
Steele wants it both ways
He wants to make national money available for use in local races, but says the RNC should have no opinion about the worthiness of the candidate? I don't think I need to comment on that.

And, Reid needs to go down. He is screwing up Nebraska's future along with that of ALL OF US due to his position in the US Senate. I have already contributed to Tark and will do more when I can.
DanNV writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 6:31 PM
He misses the point completely
What Michael Steele fails to understand is that this isn't an issue of outside interference, it is an issue with the Republican Party playing politics over the interests of the voters. The people have a choice Mr. Steele and that is what you and all the rest of the career politicians seem to have forgotten.

We want strong leadership in the Republican Party Mr. Steele but we don't want dictatorship. That is the message from the majority of the American people and any politician who doesn't get it won't be a politician much longer.
coopmeister writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 6:03 PM
Since Scozzafava "withdrew...."
John Boehner "regrets backing former GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava for New York's 23rd district race."

What a man of character!
Virginia writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 5:51 PM
Mr. Steele asked:
Do you want people from New York to go down to Florida and say I don't like who you picked?

Well, Michael, push Charlie Crist hard, and ignore the more truly conservative Rubio, and I suspect you'll see quite a few angry New Yorkers down there.

Push Mark Kirk on us Illinoisans and fail to support a more conservative candidate in the Feb. primary (for example, somebody who would NOT vot yes on Cap and Tax as Kirk did), and you might even see some angry Illinoisans.

Instead of believing MSNBC's description and interpretation of the Tea Partiers, PAY ATTENTION TO THE REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE BASE.

Rasmussen Reports
that other "arm of the Republican party" (is it just me or has the Republican PArty grew an awfull lot of arms lately ?) says 'There are more conservatives than Democrats in America, and there are more Democrats than Republicans." because almost half of conservatives do not consider themselves republicans. Which means there is lot of room to grow on the right for Republican party, by being true to conservative principles, and some to grow on the moderate centre by adding a sprinkle of moderate views.
Rasmussen: "Of all the non-Republicans in the nation, 31% consider themselves at least somewhat conservative while 37% say they’re political moderates."
Bottom line is by nominating a conservative Republican Party almost always wins; by nominating a real moderate (not a far left fruitcake like Scozzafava) Republican party mostly wins; by nominating a granola bowl leftie Republican party loses every time.
Rasmussen again: "Looked at from that perspective, nominating a GOP candidate who supports [any of the left wing drivel] is likely to drive away more voters than it attracts."
CalVRWC writes: Monday, November, 02, 2009 5:27 PM
The fact that
Scazzafava supports the Dem in this race proves that she was not the right choice for NY-23.

And how very wrong Newt was.
