Living With Bloggers
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:45 PM
Very interesting story in the NYT today about how some top liberal bloggers (including Matthew Yglesias and Ezra Klein) live together in DC.  I love how in the picture, they all sort of look alike.  I wonder if they always looked alike, or if that happened after they moved in???

This, of course, would not be for me.  I can't think of any group of people I'd like to live with less than male conservative bloggers, other than say, male liberal bloggers ...

that sparks idea for new cable TV show

I'd like to see Mary Katharine Ham, Amanda Carpenter, and a few other young single hotties of the right wing spectrum share a house.

That's a reality-TV show concept crying out to be produced.

It'd be kind of like MTV's "The Real World" or like the Playboy bunnies show on the E ! channel except instead of flipping back their hair and then making vapid remarks, Mary Katharine, Amanda, et al, could flip back their hair and then quote what Milton Friedman once said about the capital gains tax, or what Natan Sharansky said about freedom.

That would be hot.

I'm sure the ladies are all probably very polite in 'real life,' but just for dramatic structure, we'd have to 'script' some household tension.
For instance, we could have a confrontational scene in the kitchen where Mary Katharine says to Amanda, "Hey chick, in your world does a 'free market system' mean that you feel entitled to drink all of my orange juice and then stick the empty carton back in the refrigerator !?"

And then Amanda could respon with something like, "Well, Mary Katharine, I always thought you were opposed to graffiti, but everytime I turn around there's a 'I heart Peyton Manning' scribbled on the walls."
