Obama's Faux Outrage Over Keating Five

If Barack Obama is so outraged at John McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal, why is John Glenn, another Keating Five member, doing surrogate work for Obama? Obama’s presidential campaign released a scathing documentary on Monday detailing McCain’s ties to the Savings and Loan crisis on the 1980’s. Five U.S. senators were named in the scandal: Sen. Alan Cranston (D.-Calif.), Sen. Dennis DeConcini (D.-Ariz.), Sen. John Glenn (D.-Ohio), Sen. John McCain (R.-Ariz.) and Sen. Donald Reigle (D-Minn.). But Obama doesn’t seem to have any quarrel with Glenn. The former Ohio senator introduced Bruce Springsteen at a benefit concert for Obama in Ohio on Sunday, October 5. He's also done other surrogate work for Obama as well. In August Glenn held conference calls with reporters on behalf of Obama, according to Obama's presidential website. A day after Glenn urged people to register to vote for Obama in Ohio, Obama’s campaign began a multimedia campaign to remind the public McCain was one of the “Keating Five” although he was eventually cleared of all charges. Like McCain, Glenn was also found not guilty of violating any Senate rules.

of Obama, Jr. is "hypocrite". Now it is up to us, his political opponents to make sure the uninformed mass of American voters learn the truth about the "clay footed" demagogue. |
|
"But Obama doesn’t seem to have any quarrel with Glenn."
You do realize that Glenn isn't running against Obama, don't you? |
|
You mean like this faux smear....Go jump off the bridge to nowhere.
You dont have issues to run on...
And by the way the American people have seen the light have you seen the polls SCUMBAGS |
|
Obama. If McCain is such a loser, so is Obama and his supporters. That is proven by Obama, Jr.'s own ads. |
|
about "faux outrage".
But that aside, Palin and McCain want to swiftboat Obama by using a man who did stupid things in the sixties when Obama was EIGHT - then go ahead. Turns out there is a WHOLE SMORGASBORD of McCain/Palin extremist, radical, stupid and anti-American skeletons to dig up over the next few weeks before November's election. KeatingFive is just the beginning.... |
|
McCain is losing control of his campaign. After disavowing going down the Rev. Wright road he's now got a veep contradicting him-- certainly at the behest of his own aides. The Ayers biz is an exaggerated distraction beneath McCain's dignity.
So this is Obama's "tit" for McCain's "tat"-- ugly politics instigated by the "Country First" guy. That's why Glenn's connection doesn't matter. |
|
"If McCain is such a loser, so is Obama and his supporters."
Works both ways. If Glenn is such a loser, so is McCain.
John Glenn is a genuine national hero: first American in orbit and, thirty-five years later, oldest person ever to go into space. Also, USMC fighter pilot, 59 combat missions in WWII, 63 in Korea, six Distinguished Flying Crosses, 19 Air Medals.
McCain, not so much; he was one of 600 Americans who were prisoners of war in Vietnam, but nothing since. |

You call McCain's twentysomething missions over Vietnam "not so much" when compared to Glenn. Now do us all a favor and compare Obama's military record to McCain's record! I'LL WAIT FOR YOUR REPLY ON THIS ONE! |
|
"Now do us all a favor and compare Obama's military record to McCain's record!"
Obama wasn't in the military. I'm surprised you didn't know that. |
|
|
That's my point Bob! Also it's good to see you think flying 20 something missions over Vietnam was "NOT MUCH"! How many did Obama fly agai......oh yeah, Barry was above military service! That's for dummies like John Glenn and John McCain, right Bob? |
|
"That's for dummies like John Glenn and John McCain, right Bob?"
Glenn's formal education was interrupted by Pearl Harbor, but those early test pilots and the original Mercury astronauts were very much involved in the science and engineering of their craft. He's now a professor at Ohio State. |

What about your "not much" remark Bob? |

"What about your "not much" remark Bob?"
What part of it do you not understand? |

to have served in Vietnam. I know this because I'm former Navy, and I'm 51, and went in AFTER vietnam. In fact, it was an all volunteer military at that time, still is. I don't have an issue with someone not serving, if they are of the age where service was not required. Not big wars going on, etc. |
