lefties' Fear of a Rush Limbaugh Planet

Mike LeP, I don't think you should be publicly referring to any race of human beings as "trash."

I'd also add that if the lefties weren't worried about the stunning influence of Rush Limbaugh, then they wouldn't be desperately trying to push legislation ("Unfairness Doctrine") designed to run him off the air.

Dems are chicken*hits
They won't go on the only network that's not in their camp because the mean old leftwing moonbat Move.on/Kos machine says so. Why should the GOP give them unfair advantange, I thought Libs were all about "fairness".

"America will never vote for people afraid to face everyday Americans. "

I wouldn't exactly call the Kos/Youtube/Algore crowd, "everyday Americans".
They sond more like the kooky lunatic fringe to me, exactly the kind that never vote Republican. They are not worth even spitting on.

Keep fooling yourself on Rush!

Rush consistently has one of the highest rated "informed" audience. In the last PEW survey only the Weekly Standard and the New Republic had an audience with a higher rated "knowledge."

And fyi PEW is not a Conservative organization.

"Too bad most of Rush's listeners are old fogeys and poor white trash. "

Groan!
Yet another loony left idiot.
You mean as compared against wild eyed left wing crazies and moonbats?
Earth to LePen, even here in very liberal New York City, Rush is one of the highest rated radio shows, and reguarly gave a whupping to Al Frankienstein's "Air America" in the ratings.
Rush's appeal cuts across states, age groups and demographics.
What more juvenille nonsense you to to spew out, sucker?

2.6 million huh?
We have 300 million people in this country, and approx 200 million registered voters.
Plus of course Fox has much higher ratings than CNN, and the Republican debate on Fox had higher ratings than the Republican "debate" on MSNBC and CNN. Plus most of the people who watch CNN are liberals. I haven't watched MSNBC for over 5 years. Most conservatives haven't either.

"Glad to hear the GOP is on the bleeding edge of this new technology! "

Its not the technology, stupid.
Its how many people you reach and influence.
Today, Rush reaches and influences more people every day than any of the 3 big TV networks.
That's what counts.
Despite huge amounts of money invested(inlcluding Al Frankeinstein's failed Air America that even stole money from orphans to run their liberal talk radio), liberals continue to fail woefully in Talk Radio.

That might explain why the Democrats , who appeared on Youtube are busy calling for cut and run from iraq even as we speak

GOP and YouTube
I would be for the GOP going along but not with these guys. To go to these "debates" while warring with your base is similar to going to your daughter's wedding after just telling her mother that you want a divorce. There is just no way anything good will happen. Bad timing. Other than the GOP uber alles zombies who will vote for Elmer Fudd if he wins the nomination, who else will be cheering for the candidates? It's not the venue, it's that the GOP just isn't ready for prime time.

I thought the Dem's youtube debate was in fact stupid. However, rather than stop the format, let’s improve. Rather than have a snowman, let’s have a scientist ask about global warming or lack there of. Let’s have someone who use a gun legally owned to save his families life, ask Rudy Giuliani why he does not believe in the right to own a hand gun.

"Yet most republicans think the republicans should skip the CNN YOUTUBE debate "

This is the difference: Fox News is a bona fide news outfit, with solid, reputable journalists, while Youtube is not even a news outfit, but instead, a site where publcity hungry idiots and bored people with nothing better to do, dump videos of their dogs/cats doing stupid tricks, and loose women post videos of themselves doing the strip tease in order to attract attention to themselves.
There is a big difference.

"Its common knowledge that the Dems are light yrs ahead of Repubs in using the Internet"

And Republicans are light years ahead of Democarats when it comes to Talk Radio.
nd you don't even need a computer or ISP to listen to Talk Radio. Even the most remote good country folks in this country listen to and are influenced by conservative Talk Radio. Might explain why Republicans have swifty overtaken the Democrats who used to totally dominate elections in the South.

"The ratings for the Dems youtube debate were quite high"

Exactly how high?
There are 300 million people in this country, what percentage of the population of this country actually watched it?
And how many consevatives/Repulicans watched it?
How many Repblicans decided to vote Democrat because they saw Democrats appear on Youtube?

"If we dont do this debate, it will come back around to haunt us in 2008."

Tell that to the Demorats who run away from Fox, a bona fide news organisation, with solid reputable journalists like Brite Hume, who for my money, is one f the best TV journalists in this country.
Who are Youtube?
Youtube is but a dog and pony show, chock full of videos of animals doing tricks, and semi-naked women doing strip tease, that is controlled by Google, an algore controlled hard left outfit, that makes over 96% of their political contributions exclusively to the Democratic Party.
The most stupid thing the Republican candidtes can do is give respectability to Algore's Youtube by appearing on it for sme sham "debate"(in reality a Soviet-style, Stalinist inquisition).
It's easy: Say no to the loony left stupid video peddlars: JUST SAY NO TO YOUTUBE

The ratings for the Dems youtube debate were quite high. It would be an opportunity missed if the Reps cancel.

All we need to do to make this debate work is to screen the questions better.

GOP must take the debate
If we dont do this debate, it will come back around to haunt us in 2008. The only 2 people who it will not haunt are Thompson and Newt... but even then the label might stick.

WE MUST PARTICIPATE AND CONTINUE THE GOOD FIGHT!

I don't get it
I don't understand why a sock puppet asking a CNN-screened question over the internet is considered so revolutionary.

I thought it was boring and pointless when the Dems did it. It will be boring and pointless when/if the Reps do it.

Drew writes: Monday, July, 30, 2007 11:52 AM
Why Go
Its hosted by liberal communist news network, CNN. And most of the questions will come from people not serious about the election (i.e. the snowman-American commenter) and the questions are bound to be liberal. Why humiliate ourselves like that. The election is over a year away, I am sure it will be well forgotten by that point.

Maybe conservatives don't want to go on CNN because they don't want to legitimize a partisan 'news' organization.

I'm against it
Because youtube by its very nature is idiotic. Saying that it could be made to look more professional, though a noble sentiment, is not possible. They LIVE for the"zingers" and the "gotchas" and the 20 second soundbites and all that puerile nonsense - it is their lifeblood. Without that they are SOL, they know it and they will stop at NOTHING to get it.

Remembr the Muppetts? When the guest host played "aren't they cute" with the various characters they would cut him of her to ribbons.

On the other hand when someone like Spike Milligan was there it was FUNNY. Especially if you had a bit of a buzz on.
tom writes: Monday, July, 30, 2007 11:35 AM
Turn it around
I see, if Liberals don't want to go on Fox because they don't want to legitimize a partisian 'news' organization, then supposebly they 'Fear' republican pundits who are asking the questions.

Yet most republicans think the republicans should skip the CNN YOUTUBE debate and I suppose it's not becasue they 'Fear' the normal citizens who would be asking the questions.

You guys are pathetic.
RASHUM writes: Monday, July, 30, 2007 10:37 AM
I am for the youtube debate
I am in favor of the youtube debate. However like the Dems going with Chris Matthews and the Reps using Brit Hume; we should avoid the snowmen and only allow legitimate questions. We should make ourselves look more professional.

Reason I am in favor, although Brit Hume and Fox News did a great job, they avoided the real zingers. Someone should ask Giuliani why he has a strained relationship with his son. Someone should ask Fred Thompson (if he is a declared candidate) if he lobbied for abortion.
