Obama: Pay No Attention To The Men Behind The Curtain
|

Barack Obama has selected two men to team with caroline kennedy to conduct his Vice Presidential search.
One, Eric Holder, was instrumental in securing Marc Rich's pardon from Bill Clinton on the last day of the Clinton Administration.
The other, James Johnson, received a series of sweetheart loans from Countrywide, including a large loan at an interest rate below 4% which looks like a gift.
Jim Geraghty, Ed Morrissey and Jake Tapper have the details and the key links.
Obama has been blasting Countryside and its CEO for months. He's been promising a sharp break with the Beltway practices of the past. So in his first week of nominee he finds himself defending old guard D.C. players who represent the restoration of the Clintons without the Clintons. Fine. But spare us the sanctimonious prattle about change.

putting out the stuff that really ought to tick people off. |
|
of this out, it will be incumbant upon those of us who are not Obama worshippers getting it out via local flyers during this campaign along with letters in our local papers.
Obama also has a problem with Blackwater which no one has mentioned yet, but I can wait and hope it will be brought up by the GOP later.
Obama and his paid surrogates won't be able to make a majority us who are "independents" follow along blindly behind him.

"Take the home building company, KB Home. They lost nearly $1 billion last year. But their CEO walked away with a $6 million cash bonus, and that’s on top of his $1 million base salary. And just the other week, we learned that when Countrywide Financial was sold a few months ago, its top two executives got a combined $19 million. Nevermind that Countrywide is as responsible as anyone for the scandalous mortgage crisis we’ve got today – a crisis that’s the source of many of our other economic problems."
So with Obama it doesn't matter that he feels these CEO's have done scandalous things as long as he can have these scandalous people advising him???? Can ANYONE make heads or tails of what Obama says? |
|
said: "We’ve seen what happens when CEOs are paid for doing a job no matter how bad a job they’re doing."
Yep, we sure have seen what happens haven't we? |

political machine rather than supporting what's good for the people:
"The move was decried by many, including Claypool, for what it was: a bald act of nepotism. Despite Todd Stroger's youth, inexperience, and his reputation as a corrupt, machine-style ward boss, Obama not only endorsed Stroger in the general election but heaped praise on him as a "a good progressive" - a claim that no one who knows him could make with a straight face.
In the end, Todd Stroger won election in November 2006. Since taking office as Cook County Board President, however, he has been an unmitigated disaster. With runaway taxes increases and the county hospital system in crisis, Stroger has been busy packing the County payroll with allies at the expense of taxpayers, including more than a dozen friends and relatives making more than $100,000 per year."

Remember that old parody Rush used to do when Hill was called up on the Hill to testify? My brain's in a blender.......that was part of the refrain.
Yup, it applies to Barry's brain too, apparently. This is what happens when you get affirmative action candidates who haven't climbed the ladder of success on their own.
Not that he isn't intelligent enough. It's just really, really hard to be getting crash course on the presidency while running for the presidency.
Somebody needs to pull up that old UTube where Obama is saying: No, I'm not going to run for the presidency. I'm too new. I'm a firm believer in knowing what you're doing and I don't know what I'm doing.
Priceless. |
|
Even this echo chamber doesn't reach as many as we wish it could it is heartening to hear there are others that see through this straw man too.
Question: how does a "community activist" garner the money to buy the house he lives in, drive the cars he drives, and all the other perks he enjoys? Is there a major course of studies in college for "community activism" somewhere? I took the wrong stuff. |
|
that video where Obama is addressing his underage minions at his campaign HQ? Trying to influence and overtake all the blogs won't work. An empty suit is still an empty suit.
As K.G. points out, even Obama knows he isn't fit or ready and you can hear it straight from the horse's mouth.
|
|
|
Obama doesn't pick Hillary, so what? He's still gonna win the election against failed conservative governance and policy, already judged near the bottom of worst. Let the man choose; he'll win, and your failures are Going Down. Can't wait! |
|
and even further I would like to know just what he did do as a community organizer. There are always nuances of what he claims to have done, but I have yet to see anything concrete.
One does have to wonder why Rezko would have called him "out of the blue" when he became editor of the law review.
|
|
when it comes to Obama's support of Stroger. Obama REFUSED to support a candidate who wanted to go against the Chicago political machine and try to enact change, however, he had absolutely NO problem supporting a corrupt politician who was part of the Chicago political machine.
No matter how much you want to say Obama is about CHANGE, the only change he will bring to the WH is changing the address of the corruption and mob from Chicago to DC. |
|
|
Excellent point re McCain and the Keating Five,Comrade. That is just one of the reasons so many of us that post here, do not like or support McCain and why we are so disaffected with the GOP generally. Unfortunately, Obama seems to be surrounded with as many DC scoundrels as Johnny Mac regardless of any rationalizations. Your desire for transparent government is noble and correct. We conservatives seek transparency and clean government by limiting its size and scope, rather than believing in a candidate or party, which is what the founders intended. |
|
|
Obama called the suspension of 30 billion worth of federal gas taxes a "gimmick" and not worth the time. Yet a proprosed windfall profit tax that is scheduled to collect less than 15 billion dollars is great idea to Obama. That lefties is the practical definition of an empty suit. No one says a Harvard degree is what it used to be. |
|
enough to realize that most people are already aware of the Keating 5 scandal? It didn't do anything to him then and it won't now. yawn...
Now why don't the Obamabots be good little minioins and go ask Obama how that windfall profits tax gimmick worked for Jimmy Carter. |
|
|
Who do I have to be friends with. |
|
Of course Obama isn't concerned about the "Preferred Loans" received by James Johnson. Considering Obama got a sweet-heart deal with the help of Rezko - Barack sees this as "business as usual".
Didn't you know, Hugh, there are two Americas?
One for Democrat Senators and the Elite... and the other made of poor victims needing the help of democrat Senators and the elite.
Oh - and prepare yourself for lots of prattle! When a "Christian" leader like Obama votes AGAINST aiding babies who survive late-term abortions, rather, allowing birthed, breathing babies to die without medical attention... EXPECT HYPOCRITAL PRATTLE!
|
|
Everyday it's something new. This is more fun than Days of Our Lives (to which I became addicted back in the days of house arrest due to Carter's gas lines.)
The next cliffhanger is whatever happened to Barack's birth certificate? What deep, dark secret might it reveal? That he was actually born during his mother's 1961 trip to Moscow? That he is really Richard Nixon's (or JFK's) (or Che Guevara's) love child? |
|
K.G., we've gotta see that U-tube, Babycakes! Yowzzzaaaaa....he actually said that?? Play it non-stop until November, Repubs! Shows he may have possessed a modicum of humility a 2 or 3 years ago. Imagine. Before the fainting throngs unhinged his haid.
Eric Holder did the Marc Rich pardon legwork? Oh, I LUV it. Johnson in the kip withj those Countrywide villians?? Somebody STOP MEEEEE!
If pure Johnny Little is too goody to use this, our 527s will. Trust me. :-)

Hugh:
Look at Obama's real profile and juxtapose it with the image he tries to create:
Rev. Wright William Ayres Bernadeine Dorn (sp?) Tony Rezko Eric Holder James Johnson
Apparently liberals are blind to the fact that this is a Chicago-style activist with Marxist leanings a la Saul Alinsky, Noam Chompsky.
The RNC is already putting together a series of ads highlighting all of this which will expose this farce of a man to mainstream American voters.
Incredibly, this election is looking like McCain's to lose.

APPEARANCE. There, I used that word-concept that Dems have been tarring Republicans with for decades. Mr.Pure New Hope Guy is gooey from toe to scalp with shady APPEARING stuff and people.
This is Hardball, Comrade. And, I don't mean Little Chrissy Matthews! |
|
..just grasping at straws. Barack supporters are Messianic. Barack is just another politician. Barack is knows some low-character guys.
Hey guys, our country is in a world of hurt right now. Between the economy and our strategic blunders, America is in a precarious place. We are here, largely, because that is where the Reeps led us. What have you learned from these years of mis-governance to make Americans entrust you with the solemn responsibilities of leadership again? That is what this election is about, and not some guy who is the third cousin of a friend of Barack's half-sister's stock-broker.
Here's the bottom line, and it is why these desperate wheezing attempts to play gotcha with Barack are gonna fail: everyone is morally flawed. You interrogate someone's past, you're gonna find compromising things. You Reeps have been using this fact of ubiquitious human imperfection to assault the character of your political opponents--and for several election cycles now. It has worked. You have been politically successful. But you have been very unsuccessful at governing. This time around, you don't get away with these cheap attacks. This time around, you defend why--at this point in our history--it is better to vote for the "market" party than the "citizenship" party. We all want the market, we all want citizenship, but your way has been a failure. It is our turn now.
There's nothing 'messianic' about it. Messianic is this Ronald Reagan worship. Messianic is the fawning moralizing about GW and the ridiculously unmeasured assaults on Clinton, Gore, and Kerry. Messianic is not a bunch of enthusiastic kids who want to get politics out of the Boomer mire. Messianic is the stupid idea that we can "transform" the Middle-east, or failing that, pave the way for the return of Jesus. |
|
...just that old fashioned process of "vetting" a politician who seeks the highest position in the land. It works great for Democrats when levelling it against republicans----however, it is oddly repudiated in the reverse.
A politician who, prior to March 2008, few people, outside of southside Chicago, knew very much at all about.
A politician who cannot lay hands on his own birth certificate. Or, perhaps can locate it but does not want to. In that case, he can say anything he wants to regarding where he was born---again, evidence that little is known about his background.
A politician who continues to show relationships that are at odds with general wisdom on issues of judgement.
No----there's no "GOTCHA" abouot it at all-----EXCEPT, for teh narrative being spun by Leftists, Liberals, Victicrats, Progressives, Socialists, Marxists and pathetic individuals such as, the marose, boorish, pedantic, "Pathetic Liberal". |
|
...in the redundantly boorish narrative of Pathetic Liberals?
"Stuck on Stupid" is another way of putting it. And that pretty much sums up this persistent catterwaul of this confused, individual. |
|
...my own eyes. Can't believe you guys haven't. I wonder where it is. Can stuff like this be squelched once it's out in cyberspace?
|
|
some place, alrighty. LUV it!
Comrade Bro-Bay...This whole--EeeeekK--"appearance" thing might make sense if I point you toward the Dems still trying to make hay with Keating 5, twenty-five years ago. Too long ago, Dudes, but Bazama's buds are current and recent years. Bummer, huh? |

Loser-Libs analogize about sales scenarios/stories.
OBAMA, the new sales guy on the block. Sells twice as much as Slick Willy ever sold to the American public. Why? Because he's a great actor. Better than the best Hollywood has to offer.
Obama, the new, "fresh", incredibly successful slick salesman who has the ability to pull the wool over the eyes of a good number of lemmings' Liberals. He can't quite close the deal with conservatives though. And that just irritates the crap outta those loser-Libs.
They fight and whine and scream at conservative's inability to "buy" the "goods" from this polit-peddler. It infuriates some Liberals so much so, they resort to RACE-HUSTLING, RACE-BAITING in hopes of, "writing that order".
Yep, it's all a slick sales quotient for loser-Libs. Throw enough crap up against the wall and some of it is bound to "stick". That's their hope. That's their objective.

"GOP Videos Question Obama's Experience - Channel '08: The 2008 ...OBAMA: I am um... a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job and ..."
...but I can't find that video. Maybe somebody can help. |
|
|
Yep Meg, you are spot on. Obammy would disrobe in front of rapists and we would all pay the price of abuse from his being elected. This is a mental disorder of the nth degree and defies common sense and self-preservation. This is the essence of Libtard politics. |
|
|
Patriotic Liberal. Again you assume that it is the republicans who have led us into this state of being while not even discerning that the republicans have followed the libtard canard of politics in the name of bipartisan compromise. Your failure to acknowledge this leftward turn by the republicans is your ignorance shining through your veil of self adulation. It is precisely that the republican majority accepted some of the libtard policies of the leftward stigma, that we have arrived at this juncture. Your libtard solution to right the wrong turn toward leftism is to bathe in more of the policies that brought us here. You are an imbecile to post such. |
|
I'm sure it was just a Freudian slip that Hewitt correctly uses the initial upper case for the name of every man in his posting, yet seems to have mysteriously forgotten how to touch the "shift" key for the name of the one woman.
Figures. |

Briggsy writes: Tuesday, June, 10, 2008 11:52 PM Nothing can top the Dick Cheney scandal.
He chose himself.
Arch says"
Briggsy, what illegal scandal do you speak of? last I knew he was not in jail or even close. Do you know something that Conyers doesn't? Your too easy Libtard!! |
|
Briggsy writes: Wednesday, June, 11, 2008 1:24 AM arch, every scandal is not illegal.
Cheney's selection of himself as VP was just laughably unseemly!
And it really set the tone for the stooge presidency which ensued upon completion of the coup.
Arch says to that"
You are insane Briggsy. One moment you say that not illegal is a scandal and yet you have no similar distinction concerning the breaking of the law by a sitting president, namely Sick Willie. He actually committed perjury before a grand jury. Libtard to the bone you are! |

Perhaps the Mark Rich and Carolyn Kennedy connection will help put the puzzle together? Obviously, Obama has some influencial backing.
The media has already crowned him the heir apparent to Robert Kennedy and tales of Camelot are re-surfacing all the time everyday.
Obama is a liberals liberal and is very much pro-choice and everything else that is to the far left. He has started speaking like a populist and tries to say the things he thinks will get him elected but once the general public finds out about this sheep is a wolfs clothing I think they will not vote for him.
Its the civil rights and feminists and then its the chavez farm workers or the sixties hippie era come alive all over again. Obama the man of our time? The divine Messiah who will lead us to the promised land..............Let my people go!! LOL
Obama...the first Black President....whatever happened to his white half? Then........its the Hillary.....no little girl will ever grow up now without realizing the dream that its possible for a woman to be president because of Hillary Clinton.
Has the Age of the Black Man and Woman arrived? Now we can put old whitey on the shelf and get rid of him once and for all. LOL What a Joke!! |
|
***They fight and whine and scream at conservative's inability to "buy" the "goods" from this polit-peddler.***
Hey, this is America. Don't "buy" Barack's "goods." You never did have a good eye for value. Everyone knows that now.
Everyone also knows that your team will use all means, fair or foul, to win. It is because you are the custodians of unprincipled, undisciplined, disorderly, and anarchic souls. Three decades ago, your team was interesting--even morally admirable. Today, debauched by a quarter-century of disproportionate power, American conservatives are buffoons. The assaults on the acquaintances of Barack is of a piece with that buffoonishness. |
|
Yeah yeah, it is because we aren't conservative ENOUGH. You sound like the Democratic base after the 1980 election.
Start making your excuses, chump. But when you do decide to start owning up to your responsibility, not only will you enter into a type of adulthood, you will find it easier to fix the mess that your generation has made of conservatism. |
|
Obama was chosen by his merits in the company he keeps for a reason. If the Democrats can get an extreme left liberal nominated let alone elected, they are on their way to achieve their goal, set out on from the begining,POWER.
Power and control are the core of their party and Obama is testing the waters more and more everyday. If he survives the corrupt company he keeps he may not be stopped. The beliefs and character of our President is the # 1 consideration in his appointment.
What else would hinder his election ,the issues and his stance on them? Hasn't so far.
Conservatives will have to ride in on their white horse and push McCain into the White House. |
|
If it exists or existed on U-Tube video, it'll be in the laps of 527s prepping their nefarious assault against the first post racial candidate. Can't wait. :-)
Briggs is getting way past her/his(?)Lithium-Electroshock Therapy Need point. Whew. It always tickles me to remember that Dem-Libs tended to like Dick Cheney, right up till he started killing Bad Guy Islamist Butchers in late 2001. From Tora-Bora forward, he and EeeekK Halliburton are the anti-Christs.
Briggsy, it's OK, Little Bro/Sis. Some nice folks at Shady Oaks Asylum are witing for ya. |
|
|
You all sound like Hillary in 2007. It was "inevitable" that she would be President to the point it was "certain" that "destiny" was on her side. Obama has no idea of the public scrutiny headed his way.Unlike the people who frequent political blogs, 90% of Americans don't really know this guy or his wife. Trust me, they will by October. |
|
|
I just love when you Libs bring up the Keating Five. The thing is, you Libs always seem to leave out one little fact. Bob Bennett is on record as saying John McCain did nothing wrong and nothing illegal. Who is Bob Bennett you ask? He's just the Democrat who prosecuted the case. But hey, when did you Libs ever let facts get in the way. Pathetic! |
|
like obambi a lot of attention is he's RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and he's a fool like you, bjob, and we don't want a fool like bjob, running the country, thats why he has our attention.
vote obambi...FOOLS voting for a FOOL.. |

Mr. Patriotic Liberal wrote; ------------- "The assaults on the acquaintances of Barack is of a piece with that buffoonishness." -------------
Acquaintances ?
Oh, you mean his spiritual advisor of over 20 years---the Pastor who wed him, baptized his children, and inspired the title of Obama's most recent book---THAT "acquaintance" ?
Ha, ha, ha.
Or you mean the admitted domestic terrorist who would be on death row if not for silly prosecutorial errors in gathering evidence---the guy who conspired to plant bombs in the women's restroom of the Pentagon---all he did was host Obama's very first campaign event...in his own home---THAT "acquaintance" ?
And do you mean the man whom Obama trusted to do the leg work in helping determine the most important decision of his campaign---determining a VP nominee---you mean, Jim Johnson, the fellow who as a CEO of Fannie Mae, enjoyed zillions of dollars in salary all the while Obama's been making speeches condemning CEOs who make that kind of money as "bad"---are you talking about THAT "acquaintance" ?
And how about Rashid Khalidi, the Jihad sympathizer ? Is he "just an acquaintance" ?
How about Tony Rezko, the convicted felon who steals money, and just happened to go in with the Obama's on their most important financial investment---the purchase of their HOUSE ?
Just how many Rezkos and Ayreses do you have in YOUR life, Mr. Patriotic Liberal ? (I'm afraid to ask....ha, ha, ha.)

So far, Obama has not shown himself to be murderous. That in itself is a considerable improvement. |
|
|
Jim McDougal, who was the main witness concerning Hillarys' financial dealings, died in 1998 of a heart attack he suffered while in solitary confinement in a federal prison, having been deprived of his heart medicine. Who was co-president that year? |
|
|
Obama will not win the November election because he's a black man with baggage. No man of color (or a woman) has ever been U.S. president. It won't fly in "middle America." Not to say it won't happen in another decade, I just don't predict it happening this year - and I've predicted some significant national events that came true. You add to that Obama's radical leftist views, his political baggage with all his dubious former associates, plus his perception as an inexperienced elitist...he just won't win. |
