Huck Does MSNBC
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 11:55 AM
Mike Huckabee garnered good reviews for his humorous punditry on MSNBC last night.  You can watch it here ...

Hey Matt--who gave him good review?
I watched part of it and thought he was milk toast. He clearly was not comfortable voicing his true opinions because when he had a chance he instead expressed rather meaningless, complimentary, mainstream media speak. One got a sense he did not want to offend. Still the politician. Still running for office.

My point is not that he shouldn't be
a politician. He is one. He still is running for president. Everyone knows that and I don't begrudge him that. He is welcome to have aspirations of being president. The point is that a politican makes a lousy commentator. A commentator who cannot feel free to express his true opinions and instead hedges or expresses platitudes is not doing the job he is paid for.

He was the token Republican on that show and they put him against Willie Brown. One would have expected from Huckabee a sharp contrast with Brown. They didn't get it.

I think Huckabee did fine in that interview, however, I did get a glimpse of Keith Olberman at the end of the clip and I nearly lost my lunch.

Does Huckabee offend me? Yes he does, but I reject you premise in what you said:

"I think some of you just feel that because he is from the south he isn't elite enough for your taste. But you need to see through his southern slang and realize there is a real educated, intelligent man who blieves in God and Country who would make a good President and be good for this country in many ways if some of you could get passed your petty prejudices. And some of you call those who don't like O-BAMA prejudiced....it's kind of like the kettle calling the pot black (pardon the pun) isn't it??."

I could care less if he was from the south, north, east, west or anywhere else. He said and did some things in the campaign that I think contradicts your desciption of "a real educated, intelligent man who blieves in God and Country who would make a good President". That doesn't make me prejudice, just perceptive.

Your guy could be from south utah, and I'd still think he was a slime bag. He could have a fancy real degree from a real college with a real course of study, and he'd still creep me out. I don't hate the huckie. I'm just void of any respect for him what so ever.
Qweenmumof7 writes: Wednesday, May, 14, 2008 7:11 PM
Huckie lacks 'gravitas'
amoung other things like class, honesty...shall I go on?

Respect is earned. He has blown it with me and my family. We will either write in a candidate, or vote DNC for the first time. Might as well, the GOP is imploding with folks like Huckie in it's ranks.

Rank.... now that's a word I can wrap my mind around when it comes to Huckie.

Huckie - Honest
Polar oppoisits. Geez, if it's possible, he actaully made Willie brown look good. I'm from CA, and that's pretty darn hard to do!
