HamNation: The Red Meat Awards
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 3:05 PM

I was at the Media Research Center's 20th Anniversary Dinner last night, where the media watchdog group gave out its less-than-coveted Dishonors Awards for the year's worst moments in liberal reporting.

The night was a laugh riot, as it always is, and a celebration of the fact that now, 20 years after MRC's founding, there are many more people in the media criticism game and many more ways to make conservative voices heard above the leftist din of the MSM.

Katie and I had some audio difficulties with my part of the video, so I made a bit of a highlight reel for you from the dinner featuring Michael Steele (running again, by the way!), Pat Sajak, Herman Cain, Mary Matalin, El Rushbo, and of course the heavy hitters of journalism-- Katie Couric and Rosie O'Donnell.

Happy Anniversary, MRC! Check in with MRC's Newsbusters blog for constant monitoring of our friends in the media.

Update:  "It is finished."

Also, Bryan and Michelle totally go to prom in today's Vent. Kidding, it's a cute day-in-the-life of Hot Air.

Funny Idea
These quotes are really funny. And anybody can do it. Anybody can search the archives to pick quotes of people that are funny.

I can do it too: look: you can show a clip of Cheney from 2002 saying that we know EXACTLY where the WMD are. Then you can show a clip of him in 2006 saying that we DIDN'T know exactly where the WMDs were in 2002. That's funny.

Or you could show a clip of Cheney in 2004 saying that the insurgency was in in its last throes.

Or you could show a clip of Ari Fletcher saying that the Medicare drug benefit would only cost $400 billion and then after Congress passed it he says it's really going to cost much more. O that's a hoot!

Actually, you know, when I think about it, it's not really that funny.

Talk about personification of the day.
Just look at the date of the last two post.

Just sayin'

P.S. (looking at the date of my post) Aahhh, nuts!

Hey Shaker...
You sound like the moron that tells your waitress at Denny's that you are a pilot. I bet you go out on dates in your flight suit too. Oh wait, you said you were lonely...no dates for you. I think I can figure out why.

And as for the Michael J Fox Stunt he admitted to over medicating himself to exaggerate his symptoms just for that commercial, and he has admitted to going with out his meds when he testified before congress to exaggerate his symptoms,,

Go Michael Go!!!
Glad to hear Michael Steele keeping his foot in the door. He's exactly the kind of person we need among today's elected officials. I'd like to see Michael debate Rosie O'Donnel - that would be hilarious! He is so incredibly intelligent and articulate, and she is clearly just a blubbering idiot.

So you think these awards are ridiculous? Kinda like the oscar for a documentary, don't you think? Or a nobel peace prize for jimmah kahtah and yasser arafat.

Talk about ridiculous awards......

seldumonde writes: Monday, April, 02, 2007 11:12 AM
Hard Thought:
Or a Grammy for the Dixie Chicks because they are ignorant Bush-bashers. But the best is the Nobel Prize for the terrorist, that's almost too offensive to be funny. So many awards have become so blatantly political, at least the MRC awards are completely honest about what they are instead of pretending to be about the quality of music or film. But of course, libs have no problem with that.

Thank you for providing Rosie a forum
Without blogs like this, only people who watch The View would hear Rosie's political perspectives. Thank you!
