HILLARY CLINTON: A REASSURING CHOICE
Posted by: Michael Medved at 7:23 PM
Hillary Clinton is a reassuring choice for Secretary of State not in spite of her political ambitions, but because of them. Her acceptance of the position makes it unthinkable that she’ll challenge Obama in 2012, but she becomes his natural successor in 2016 when she’ll be 69--- three years younger than McCain is today. Her continued presidential dreams will lead her to prevent a dangerous, precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, and make it much less likely that she’ll push hard for Israel to make dangerous concessions to its terrorist adversaries. Hillary’s chief political base is New York and betrayal of the Jewish state would sharply reduce her popularity at home. Supporters of the War on Terror in both Washington and Jerusalem should feel some relief at Obama’s choice of his old rival to shape his foreign policy.

STANDARDS FOR PRES., GREATLY LOWERED!
So Hillary will look and be more of a Hag as she ages, with her pantsuits and MaCain is old and scarred?! What shallow immature attitudes.
America is going to hell in a handbasket! Priorities are solely lacking. A mystery, unproven man 'O' is elected ovr a respected, tested MaCain! Obama had plenty of time, in future years, to run for the President; while John a sacrificing hero, who has been a great Senator would then be too old, in his late seventys. It was now or never for McCain. We sure have a funny way of thanking the deserving politician?! Instead, a Rookie, with question-able, radical friends and no significant past record of accomplishment wins the prize! How smart is that?! Gambling at its worst! We trust the most important job in the free world to a Novice who can't be believed much of the time! It is obvious the misguided Obama has and always will have to depend/lean on the 'mind power' of others, as he doesn't have an independent mindset! "Cool", his misinformed worshippers call him, I call Obama Clueless!

2 days til Obama has to show proof to
to the Supreme Court of a LEGAL, ORIGINAL-CERTIFIABLY-TRUE-AND-CORRECT, VAULTED, birth certificate proving he was actually born in Hawaii, making him a legal US born Citizen who is eligible to run for the office of President of the United States of America.

If he refuses, he defaults - AGAIN! As he has done 6 times in the past, and the powers that be have let him slide. Were that you or I attempting to perpetrate that type of fraud, we would be behind bars, count on it!

The court case brought by Phillpi J. Berg, Attnorney At Law is in front of Justice Souter who is a Liberal piece of skanky dung, and will no doubt lie, cheat and steal and do anything else under the sun to prevent having to make a decision to force Obama to abide by the Constitution of these United States which says anyone who runs for office of President must be a natural born Citizen.

Sign a petition at the website below to force the Justice to do the right thing, lest he himself be committing fraud and treason against the good people of America, as Obama has already done in refusing to prove his Citizenship status. Unless of course, you don't care that a person who may have been born in Kenya and is not a Citizen will become the 44th President of this great country while thumbing his nose at our Constitution of which all the laws of this country have always hinged on.

the call is yours: Stand up and be counted as a Red White And Blue American who loves this country, or lie down with dogs and allow it to be trampled on by Communists who only want it's destruction for their own sick power.

In the Center
The panic on the right will die down. Then they will be left with actually crafting a conservative position, rather than complaining about the other guys. Clinton, Jones and Gates are not going to throw Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan under the bus and are as good as Bush's current team. Napolitano (she at least understands immigration from the catbirds seat in Arizona) at Homeland Security is as skilled as Ridge was, let alone Chernoff (whose entire career was as a lawyer of all things). The economic team is hand in glove with Bush's current team, and I doubt anyone could find much difference between this group, and anyone McCain might have appointed. And then, Obama and McCain were remarkably aligned on the environment, to include global warming and carbon, and McCain had no more "economic" knowledge than Obama.

So, I imagine where the change that would be different from McCain/Bush will come will be on health care, the Supreme Court, judicial appointments, and some issues of women's rights.

The rest of this talk about Obama having some great socialist agenda always ignored the simple fact that he is very smart. You win elections by governing from the center - not the fringe. And that's where he's sitting.

Yes, the change and hope man Obama is just another politician with a bigger then the rest slick oil salesman mentality/talent! As for Hillary with forked tongue, excuse me Ed didn't you mean to say Obama, not Clinton?! We know what we get with Hillary, with the misguided, illusionist 'O' we will have to learn the hard way. The motivational speech master so beguiled the gullible, smitten press etc., allowing the Novice 'O' to dodge the hard questions, the few times they were even asked! Worse, Obamas duped followers didn't care! What a sad state of affairs! Ex Democrat

No Change Obama
We should be happy. Obama could have nominated a lot worse than Hillary Clinton. But let's face it,the entire idea of change is out the window and was probably joke from the very beginning. There will be no real change of any kind which in my mind is a good thing. But if I was an Obama cheerleader that thought the man was going to turn Washington D.C. upside down, I am a seriously disappointed person right now.

In choosing Hillary,Obama has moved out of the way a big mouth piece in the Senate. She cant oppose him Politicly for to out shine out play the MESSIAH is a SIN of DAMNATION.He now has eliminated her as opposition. Where she would have been a distraction to some of his more leftists policies.By just being a polarizing distraction she would be a Virus to deal with.Obama may have a fear factor surrounding Her Senatorial Clout. She is a very sharp Politician and as the dust settles in a year or two lookout.Democrats do not kill and eat one another as we do,her sins from the Canpaign are forgiven.I think he knows half the Senators in his own Party would be more comfortable with her in his position.Sometimes I think Obama fears those possible alignments. One thing is for certain Hillary is out for herself, her own agenda and self promotion.Could you imagine an alignment on a major issue where she would oppose the Messiah and the maylay that would stir up.Align Republicans with a few Democrats to defeat Obama on a pre chosen issue like a tax increase. She has learned to Talk LEFT work CENTER bash RIGHT the chosen one hasnt figured this out YET.
Hillary is now an Employee of Obamas, he is her Superior she reports to him, answers to him.Now she serves at his pleasure.Maybe do as she is told.Hell how long can that last.LOL

Why Hillary was asked to be SoS - pt 2
So in 2012, I predict Obama-Clinton running against Romney and some old war horse. And unless the economy is still in the tank, or unless Barry commits some major foreign policy/national security gaffe from which he hasn't recovered, his re-election is likely with Hill-Rod at his side.

If that's the case, I foresee an historic matchup in 2016 with two women running at the top of their respective tickets; Clinton and some promising young Dem buck vs. Palin-Jindal. But by 2016, both Palin and Jindal will have had two terms as Gov. (plus maybe two years in the Senate). Unless the Dems finally bring us the utopian vision they ultimately never deliver, a Clinton-weary country will hand over power to a principled GOP who will spend the following 12 to 16 years (first under Palin and then under Jindal) undoing all the damage Obama et al will have done before then. And thank God, at least, Barry and Hillary won't be in the Senate to lead the fight against them. Of course, an unprincipled GOP will had power back to the Dems in 2032, hijacked by the next wave of Fabian-Socialists and neo-Marxists.

Anyway, this theory goes hand-in-hand with another common point of speculation; that is, whether Barry will govern as a pragmatic centrist and alienate his base (the good), or whether he'll alienate the center to pander to his base and take a hard turn to the left (the bad). Well, I tend to follow Ranall Hoven's assessment that Barry will do both and give us the "ugly."
Jamie writes: Wednesday, November, 26, 2008 4:23 PM
Why Hillary was asked to be SoS - pt 1
My theory on the politics of Obama's choice of Clinton for SoS is that he asked, and she accepted, precisely because becoming SoS is her best path to the Whitehouse. And not in 2012. Here's my rationale.

First, Barry is aware that by 2012 he'll no longer need a running mate to provide him foreign policy credentials, so Biden will be worthless dead weight (as opposed to being valuable dead weight now). Rather, he'll need a running mate to appease and appeal to a more traditional Democratic electorate since his "change" mantra will no longer be a relevant campaign premise, especially since that he will have alienated the radical left, the youth, and the minority voting blocks to a measurable degree by failing to deliver on their expectations. Additionally, by 2012, one of Barry's long term political concerns will be the Presidential fortunes of the Party in 2016, knowing that Biden is, and would be, utterly unelectable.

So my prediction is that in 2012, Barry will drop Biden and ask Hill-Rod to be his running mate. By doing so, he'll sure up the traditional Democratic electorate all the while giving the Democrat Party an instant front runner for 2016. And as a bonus, he'll be gaining a former SoS as a running mate, thereby providing him even better foreign policy credentials than Joe "gaffe-a-minute" Biden. And to answer those pundits who have speculated that Hill-Rod as SoS might be a thorn in Barry's proverbial side, Clinton will be on her best behavior at Foggy Bottom over the next four years because Barry's fortunes are hers in 2016. Likewise, if she were to be Veep.

But why would Clinton accept a position in 2012 that she wouldn't have accepted in 2008? Well, for the same reason why she's accepting SoS now when she wouldn't have accepted the Veep nod three months ago-- because in typical Clinton form, her pride will have made way for her ambition (which predictably will be followed by her pride).

was Hillary a good choice
Greetings,

She obviously was for Barack and yet I personally believe that if he had left her in the wind that she would have been blown by again even in the next Presidential Election. My choice would have been Condalisa Rice. I don't think her loyalty was so much with Bush as it is to this country. Hillary was a bad player and even a worst loser. Yet this is Barack's ball game and I'll stand with President- Elect and of course my V-President-Elect Joey Biden.

I am wondering what the meeting between McCain and Obama was all about since McCain is like Bush and Obama is completely opposed to ALL things Bush. Seems like McCain got the first offer and he turned it down and Hillary got the nod. Either way, I am sleeping better tonight knowing Hillary and her Bacca will really stare down Putin, Chinese, Ahmedinejad and Bin Ladin. Bill will be taking donations and charging as a consultant as Hillary consults him on how she should handle the foreign issues - what a family reunion. Bosnia Fire Tested and Ready to lead LOL
Being an executive means, BHO needs to actually execute a direction for the country. The team he has assembled was a team that governed with Clinton at a time when americans believed in government, jihadists were still planning, and wall street was considered a good investment for the future. The old team with old ideas based on old experience lack anything NEW or brilliant to bring to the table as the world turns. And did I mention, Clinton did not have Russia and Iran as an 'issue' or 'bone of contention' or thorn on the side? BHO can listen all the wants and blame bush for his lack of solutions but when his lack of leadership becomes clear to citizens and the outcomes of too much listening and no action make people impatient - he can remember, he assembled an 'old team' with 'old ideas' to solve current problems. And on his foreign policy he showed up with a knife at a gun fight lead by Hillary the Bosnia Sniper Fire tested and ready to lead Secretary of State. SERIOUSLY!

Obama is playing this very cleverly. Hillary is his only serious rival for power within the Democratic Party and he has just made her an employee that he can later fire for incompetence.

Meanwhile, the governor of New York, who needs any support that he can get, will obediently put anyone in the Senate that Obama selects, thereby giving Obama one additional "yes man".

Obama killed two birds with one stone.

He's apparently doing this with other appointments as well.

I appreciate the insight that Hillary's ambition is a plus. This contrasts with Cheney's lack of ambition, which proved a great detriment to Bush's legacy. Free of the constraints that ambition would have placed on him, he had nothing to lose in furthering his goal toward a more powerful, imperial presidency with a shadowy, non-accountable spook-like vice presidency.

Landslide?? uh...don't think so...
I agree with the others that this was NO "landslide" victory for NObama...I believe there was TREMENDOUS voter fraud, for but one thing. I am certain that the Black and minority vote was CARRIED to the polls if necessary, thinking they were voting for a BLACK man (remember: Obama is half-white, and Kenyans are Arabs as well as Africans/Blacks).

Prior to the Economic collapse, McCain was leading in the polls. The Economic collapse is largely due to cr*ppy mortgages made to unqualified prospects, pushed on banks by groups like Acorn.

Also, Obama's "Rock Star" (contrived) quality attracted young people (college age, 18-25) because they have "hearts", but no "brains" yet. (If you're not a Liberal at 20, you have no heart; if you're not a Conservative at 40, you have no brain.)

The election of NOBama was supposed to be about CHANGE. CHANGE we can believe in.

Foggy outcome ...
However one games it, the play for Sen. Clinton appears to take her away from the Presidency.

She cannot play the fifth wheel of the carriage and not be a traitor to the nation. She cannot align with Obama and not carry the soil or taint of any misadventure or outright failure.

If all goes swimmingly along, then she's relegated to her spot as he seeks re-affirmation in 2012.

Expecting to survive two Presidential terms and be relevant to the populas in 2016 is stuff that seems as likely as the predictions coming from an
"8 Ball."

For our country, I'm pleased that she's a moderating influence (maybe) of radical passions coming at Obama from appeasement Democrats.

For Israel, she's a blessing and for Jordan, Saudia, the status quo to boot.

Sen. Clinton would have been better suited to her post in the Senate if she's to be a POTUS someday. Perhaps, she just really does have a sense of duty and is putting the nation before herself. WOW!

I think I need to get some fresh air.

Dick Morris disagrees that Hillary will be a good choice because Morris suggests she WILL try for the presidency in 2012 and Morris predicts the American public will begin hearing things like the Sec. of State disagreed with Obama's policy, or Obama did such and such in spite of the fact that Hillary disagreed.
