Bye bye Alan! Hannity solo, yes!
Ryan01 writes: Tuesday, November, 25, 2008 12:16 AM
Too bad...
Sean didn't leave with Alan. That isn't a political discussion show as much as it is a food fight amongst clowns and clownettes.

Hard to believe
I have watched Hannity and Colmes for quite a while, and sometimes it was hard to believe that Alan could actually take some of the positions he took. Kind of like some of the things that comes out of Goat's typewriter. As Hilary once said, "it takes the willing suspension of disbelief".
Screwtape writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 5:36 PM
Colmes is a humorist..
first and foremost and he does not have the depth of a lot of other liberal pundits. Hannity isn't a whole lot deeper and I really can't tolerate watching or listening to him.

I wish Alan well at whatever he does in the future.

Well, it's for sure you picked the right "handle"!! ROFL

I love debate, but I love GOOD debate!!

Alan did not provide that. He provided stupidity. I hope and pray Fox will hire someone who can bring something "real" to the table.

And BTW...are you actually saying that unless one debates like Alan Colmes, they can't be a Liberal, or a Liberal debater?? WOW...that's quite a statement/thought...

I agree...she is likeable. She is respectable because while I hear her sticking true to her beliefs, I have heard her call out her party when she believes they are in the wrong.

And she at least tries to use fact. Unlike Colmes whom just flies off at the mouth and tries to corner people and twist their words.

Ann Coulter isn't going to have as much fun when she visits the show now lol

To American Sweetheart...
I could NOT agree with you more about his treatment of Gianna Jessen!! Only the most COLD HEARTED and CLOSED OFF human beings couldn't/wouldn't be deeply moved by her story!!

[Gee...that reminds me...a lot of people (not me, but a lot) just voted a man into the White House who would have left her to die also...do you think Alan is cruisin' for a job in O's cabinet?]

And yes, he is a terrible debater...he says things that are really stupid and actually, indefensible...such as you've pointed out with Gianna...GEEZ...what a wicked loser...

Ms. Powers,
articulate, likable, hot.

Michael
Did you see the other night when that man was on whom's father was killed back in the 70s by a radical group? Alan was trying to argue with him that the man who killed his father paid his debt to society and could be pardoned.

How can you argue that to a man whom has living almost his whole life without his father because his life was senselessly taken? HEARTLESS.
The Pet Goat writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 4:27 PM
Doubtful...
...I doubt if there has been a riff. The combo is what has worked.

Now you people on the freak Right don't even have to pretend to hear another point of view.

Before this election, I at least respected that Alan stuck to his belief system. But as the course of the election season went on, my respect for him got lower and lower. Then Gianna Jessen was on H&C and the way Alan treated her was so appalling I wanted to reach through the tv and shake some sense into him. That is when the last ounce disappeared. He honestly is a terrible debater and he says things for the sake of saying them, not because there is any factual basis.

The Style of Colmes
I would like to congratulate Alan Colmes for his picayune style of nitpicking the guests on issues that are just slight so as to not lose ground in a debate. Though he tries to make a point it is lost on deaf ears of logical reasoning.
Alleycat writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 3:43 PM
To Am. Sweethear and Kathy!!
I second BOTH of your posts!!

Alan is SICK of Sean!! OMGOSH!! I have no idea how Sean has kept his sanity sitting next to this buffoon for years!! I actually mean no disrespect to Alan...he is a human being, but he makes NO sense!!

I think when Kirsten Powers filled in form him recently, it was BEYOND OBVIOUS!! My husband and I both said..."Gee, why don't they have HER on or someone like her..."

We are conservatives, no doubt about it. But we like to hear opposing viewpoints...when they MAKE SENSE!! Sadly, Alan often made little sense and was like "White Noise"...

I do, however, wish him well...
Craig writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 3:42 PM
Good luck
Why be hard on Alan. The TV show is far higher rated than the just Sean radio show. Colmes brought out the best work in Hannity. Without him he may become just another raving Rushwannabee.

I like Kirsten Powers though too. That will def. be a good choice.

American Sweetheart  writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 3:30 PM
re: colmes
My two predictions:
1. Replaced with Kirsten Powers
2. His show tanks within 6 months
Kathy writes: Monday, November, 24, 2008 3:28 PM
Thank you God
For answered prayers! Amen
