All Pope All the Time for al Qaeda
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 2:45 PM

We're doomed. Doomed, I tell you:

An Al Qaeda-linked extremist group warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that he and the West were "doomed," as protesters raged across the Muslim world to demand more of an apology from the pontiff for his remarks about Islam and violence.

The Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups that includes Al Qaeda in Iraq, issued a statement on a Web forum vowing to continue its holy war against the West. The authenticity of the statement could not be independently verified.

You guys any thoughts on the whole forced conversion thing?

The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross" saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."

Spill the liquor? Listen al Qaeda, you've already got the Marines on your tail. The last thing you wanna go doing is wasting liquor. It will just make things worse for you.

Also, the FoxNews website totally threw me off just now. Did they warn us that was gonna happen? It looks nice, though it's mighty similar in feel to CNN.com. I don't think I liked the look of the old site as much, but it was more easily differentiated from all the other news sites out there.

Update: "The wages of critical academic speeches is death." Pretty sure that's in the Scriptures.

LGF has pictures of that protest outside Westminster Cathedral in London.

Update: But who was throwing the Westminster partay?

Saladin Rising
"The appeal by Fikret Karabekmez, a former legislator for the banned pro-Islamic Welfare Party, called for Benedict to be tried under several Turkish laws, among them obstruction of freedom of belief, encouraging discrimination based on religion, and inciting religious hatred."

I see Turkey is making a really strong case for entry into the EU--especially considering this comes from a legislator for the Welfare Party, which probably has the most popular support in Turkey, which also happens to be one of our NATO "allies." The charge of obstruction of freedom of belief is so ironic that it's not ironic.

And I misspelled "hallucinogenic" in my CIA post. Dropped too much LSD with Dr Leary.

Why doesn't the CIA reactivate MK-ULTRA
Perhaps the CIA can disperse hallucinigenic agents throughout the Muslim world via KC-135, tap into the right brain frequencies, and broadcast images of Muhammed instructing them to consume whiskey and pork and open up co-ed water parks. You notice that nations with water parks never go to war with each other?

If I could think of one word to frame this whole episode, that word would be "estuary." You know why--cause this is a preposterous issue to arise in the year of our Lord 2006.

Ugh...
I can't stand the new site. I was going to reserve comment so as not to seem reactionary, but I couldn't help it. I finally gave up. I emailed them and let them know the old site was much better, IMHO. Why fix it if it ain't broke???
