Reid Blames Fires on Global Warming

From The Hill:

“One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday, stressing the need to pass the Democrats’ comprehensive energy package.

Moments later, when asked by a reporter if he really believed global warming caused the fires, he appeared to back away from his comments, saying there are many factors that contributed to the disaster.

It wouldn't be so bad if he were just a fringe politician or that it was just a Democratic Party phenomena. This idiocy represents the typical mindlessness infecting the leadership of both branches of the Unified Establishment Party. Arnold and Rudy refer to it as "post-partisanship", you know, like being a a born Yankees fan to the bone but also a Red Sox fan. Probably a Rockies fan too. Always has been. This is perhaps too complicated
... or subtle for Matt Lewis and the other NeoCon boobs here to grasp, but Reid did NOT say global warming "caused" the fired. He said it was one reason for their severity. Do you morons not understand that dry weather creates the conditions in California for these types of run-away wildfires, and that the strong winds that fanned them are also a function of weather? What paert of this equation is so hard for you to comprehend? You see the Democrat after his name, and your brain shuts off or freezes up. I'm not saying his energy policy is the solution, but not every fact has to be viewed through your simplistic, partisan lens...

I want to try to say this with as much civility as possible. Do you see the (D) after his name and automatically start defending him? You read quite a bit into what he said: You say: "but Reid did NOT say global warming "caused" the fired. He said it was one reason for their severity." Sen. Reid said: "One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming." I certainly won't resort to calling you a moron or a boob, but did you really read what he said, or what you thought he meant to say?

He also didn't say global warming caused the forest fires all by itself. His statment and his response to the reporter were completely consistent.

You're absolutely correct. My main issue was with And/but/so saying that he didn't say global warming caused the fire, but made it more severe - which was not what the Senator said.
