A New York Congressional Democrat that actually makes sense?
Posted by: Kevin McCullough at 12:20 AM

3rd World Thermal

Why does Texas have only 1 possible case of swine flu and New York have possibly 20?

Certainly when you look at the numbers of cases in the U.S. that very interesting number stands out.

You know what stands out even more?

How dumb this administration is...

Borders should have been shut within the first 24 hours that it was commonly realized that the cases were getting worse in Mexico. Now over a 1000 have contracted it, more than a 100 are dead, and still our feckless leader does nothing to contain border activity.

You know what one of the really good reasons to have international borders between nations is?

To keep disease from crossing territorial lines... Why do you think they do not allow certain aspects of fresh foods to be brought back from certain parts of the world?

Here's the thing, the open borders cabal (which Obama subscribes to 100%) believes that all the world's problems are ALL of the world's problems. Of course a more stupid thought has seldom been thought.

Dependable, reasonable, and enforceable immigration policy disallows the spread of contamination, disease, and by extension death to a nation's population. National government's number one priority is to provide for the common defense of her people, and according to our Constitution that's BOTH foreign and domestic.

Obama, by trotting out the Arizonan joke (apologies to all my new Arizona College GOP friends) Janet Napolitano, demonstrates no seriousness concerning this outbreak. And she is a national embarrassment -- she didn't even know where the 9/11 hi-jackers came from.

Border enforcement is one of the few things that a large federal government should actually be spending money on. Closing the border at our discretion when a health crisis erupts is not a racist idea, its a GREAT idea.

In other parts of the world they are getting far more picky about who they let in. See the infared temperature guage they are now using in Jakarta above?

And who would've ever thought that the blind Democrats would be the one leading the way... but the credit where credit is due department is acknowledging the ferocious leadership of Eric Messa - D from New York.

Oh and what HAS the administration done in the face of this pandemic...?

Posted some new info about it on their dandy little website.

Good for President Dum-Dum!

Next week... he might try taking a stab at mid-level decision making...

Border control?
Excuse me while I remind you and your little Neo-Con buddies that your failed President failed to control the same borders when there was plenty of evidence that terrorists might have seen those thousands of miles as an easy entry.

Now, three days into a flu scare, and suddenly you would like to rewrite history?

Nice try...

True, Kevin
"You know what stands out even more?

Yes, with each recent administration the idiots who wind up being president keep getting worse. Speaking of worse, you'll be happy to know that HR 1913 has been voted out of the Judiciary committee and may by voted on by the House later this afternoon. You people on Town Hall have really dropped the ball on this "hate crime" legislation and the impact it can have on the First amendment as in the same manner these laws do in Britain and Canada. I guess it is more important to make a big deal about stupid stuff like "the media's secret dinners" and "Random Pop Culture Aside: Why Idol Should Keep Kara..."

Ryan, cry in your beer, elsewhere...
My record on the issue of immigration was never in doubt. Nor did I hesitate to criticize Dem and Republican alike on the terror threat facing us on the Southern Border.

Go read my syndicated piece from January of 2007 where I made the statement that John McCain's career for all intents and purposes was through because of the statement he made to "We The People" on the issue of borders control.

You want to hate me... fine. But at least have some degree of dignity and intellectual honesty about it.

And I don't now who you THINK you are, or you who THINK I am, but let me say this with really small words so that you can follow me. This blog is about - whatever I want it to be about. It's MY blog. If you are disgruntled about the balance of the content that I write about - read something else.

I don't pretend to be any "big deal" on this blog. I write about what interests me. As a musician I have opinions about Idol, as a film producer I have opinions about pop culture, as a patriot I have opinions about politics, and as a human being I have opinions about you...

Though I am a gentleman and will refrain from providing commentary on the final element in that line.

I never questioned your position on immigration. I am aware of it.

For someone who has written a couple of books, you sure don't read very well. My post above was about HR 1913, a federal "hate crimes" law, not immigration.

Hate is a pretty strong term. I see "conservatives" and "liberals" through it around with abandon today. I don't hate you, What I do hate is the ignorance and thickness shown by people like you.

It is easy to see why the GOP is in a decline.

"Why does Texas have only 1 possible case of swine flu and New York have possibly 20? ... Borders should have been shut within the first 24 hours"

Given that the (more numerous) cases in NY were the result of kids coming back from Spring Break in Mexico, you seem to be advocating stranding Americans who happen to be out of the country. That's a pretty harsh step to take.
