McCain Should Avoid Sunday Morning Shows
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:08 PM
John McCain is set to debate John Kerry about Iraq on Meet the Press this Sunday.

McCain seems physically unable to turn down a Sunday-morning appearance -- he's on almost every week -- and this strikes me as a mistake.

While most candidates benefit from any increased "face-time," McCain only benefits when he is portrayed as a "candidate."  For example, he does well at town hall meetings, debates, etc.

Conversely, in my estimation, he loses momentum any time he appears as a "Senator" on inside-the-beltway shows, press conferences, etc.

In fairness, this particular Sunday may be the exception.  After all, McCain does well with the Republican base when talking about the Surge.

But to make this appearance a net gain, McCain can't afford to be "Senatorial" or chummy with Kerry.  McCain should see this as a golden opportunity to really go after John Kerry and the Democrats ...

America already has a powerful third
party in Washington, and they both belong to it!(CFR)......The third party works it's magic within the membership of both legitemate parties just as a lobbying organization does. It's the ONLY way to KNOW exactly what's going on at all times in every committee!

Sen. Kerry has the upper hand.
He holds the moral ground on the Iraq War and he is well prepared to defend his positon and the Democrats. Kerry is an excellent debater. McCain and Kerry appeared on "This Week" last Sunday and Senator Kerry was powerful and very passionate. And, there was no senate speak.
As for the poster up thread, Senator Kerry was the Democrats nominee for President- many believe he actually won in 2004- McCain didn't get out of the primaries. McCain may be a wanna be, but Senator Kerry is just hitting his stride and still maintains a lot of support with Democrats. He even maintains an e-mail list of supporter that is well over 3 million strong.

If he kisses up as bad as Newt did
when they had their "Global Warming" debate, it will be a love fest!.........If he is overboard and overbearing, he will look like a "Grumpy Old Man"!.........I expect the CFR told both of their members the parameters of the meeting.

Expect a love fest
The Johns were Chair and Senior Minority Member of the Special Senate POW/MIA Committee. They crushed all legitimate inquiry and sealed the records to give Hanoi cover. McCain later attacked the good men of the SwiftBoats for Kerry while offering himself as Dem' VP. The fraud and the crook; it would have made a good team.

As Charlie Keating will tell you, "You don't get what you pay for with McCain."

I'm afraid
people will look at the both of them and think: "Well, there are TWO people that tried to be President..."

sigh.
