President Bush Gives Limbaugh Private BDay Party
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 3:02 PM
While Barack Obama was having a secret dinner with conservative columnists, President Bush dished up a private birthday dinner for Rush Limbaugh.

The talk radio titan retold the story on the radio today. Limbaugh ate salmon, french fries with side of ranch dressing, Ed Gillespie had a "large salad" and the President ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. With red jelly.

Everything except the food details, apparently, was off the record.

Ah, come on now Lola C, WindowCleaner,
Scarlet O'Hairy or whoever you are. You are just red-faced jealous and squirmingly envious that no one consults with you about anything because unlike President Bush and Rush Limbaugh, you have never had an original idea or thought in your entire life.

You are the Shakespearean "Comedy Relief" here at Th and elsewhere and we grudgingly thank you for making us chuckle and wretch at your self condemnatory antics. Why you persist in making a fool of yourself in public is beyond comprehension. Just don't waste our time doing it.

end of Limabugh's relevance
I thik it speaks volumes that while Bush is going out the door he has birthday party or rather a wake for Rush Limbaugh.

Meanwhile another meeting was taking place in Chevy Chase with Obama meeting with the real brain trust of the republicans pundit class.

This seems appropriate-republcian pundits will move forward into the 20th century while Rush and Bush will be forever tied together as failures in conservtaive arms.

A ftting epitath indeed.

Rush is the best. He received well-deserved recognition from the "very top".

Talking about parties...
The group included the Washington Post's E.J. Dionne and Eugene Robinson, the Wall Street Journal's Gerry Seib, National Journal's Ron Brownstein, the New York Times Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd, The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan, and MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, among others.

Some of the writers there today are clearly on the liberal side, while others more moderate. Regardless, it's still quite a contrast from yesterday's dinner companions: George Will, Bill Kristol, David Brooks, Charles Krauthammer, Peggy Noonan, and Paul Gigot.

It's interesting that Sullivan -- author of "The Conservative Soul" -- was invited along with the more liberal wing of the chattering class. Perhaps his Palin-bashing during the campaign wouldn't have gone over well with the righties.

I have to admonish you from being a spelling bee marm. This is the comments section of a blog post and nobody is here to write war and peace.

Beside the right wingers ALWAYS resort to attacking spelling/grammar when they know they are wrong and can't come up with anything relevant to say.

Do not be like one of them.
Ronna writes: Wednesday, January, 14, 2009 4:25 PM
Rush's party didn't have a 100 Million
dollar price tag on it like the inauguration the government is throwing for their boy, Obama!!

A little levity anyone?
To change the mood on TH a bit.

Never Choke in a Restaurant in the South!

Two hillbillies walk into a restaurant. While having a bite to eat, they talk about their moonshine operation.

Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, 'Kin ya swallar?'

The woman shakes her head no.

Then he asks, 'Kin ya breathe?'

The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth.
As she begins to breathe again, the Hillbilly walks slowly back to his table.

His partner says, 'Ya know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind Lick Maneuver' but I ain't niver seed nobody do it!'

is costing MY tax dollars, AND EVERY OTHER AMERICAN'S AS WELL! But to call me Racist because I dislike a Socialist running the country is a little overbaord don't you think? Even for a Kool Aid drinking, braindead, liberal loon such as yourself. I have never said I don't like Obama because he is black. I don't like him because of WHAT HE IS, not because of his skin color, because after all, he is half white too - although he doesn't like to acknowledge that. Well did you check on me at the Alvin, Texas Police Dept.?

You will never understand - will you?
I am not surprised that the left cannot see past their own noses on this. I grew up with Rush Limbaugh - he has always stayed true to his beliefs and has never compromised who he is to get ahead. He is a self-made man and didnt need Harvard, or any other college, to validate his ideas. I will have a beer and a smoke with Rush anyday - I would drop everything if that man needed my assistance in anyway. My wife and I love Rush (both 30 years old) and my kids will grow to know who he is and why his opinion matters. Put his character to BHO is no contest - Rush wins everytime. Enjoy the next 4 years of "hope and change" - the Conservative movement will live on with me and my family. Happy Birthday Rush - I wish you every happiness!

1. You are a racist. Just because I don't respond to all your (inane) comments on other threads doesn't mean I don't read them. Your racist views are well known.

2. I don't need to waste my time checking up on liars in the comments section of a blog. Your lies speak for themselves.

Have an extremely emotionally painful four to eight years of Obama. I hope your hate rots your soul.

Scarlet-

Just trying to help. If you want to fight monsters there is no reason to become one-that is the big ddifference between people like us and people like them. I am a Republican and I love my country. I did not vote for Obama but knew he would win the moment Bush started the bailout checks last summer. Bush destroyed fiscal conservatism for an entire generation of republicans. If Obama can find a way to fix that I'd be obliged cause right now the GOP as I know it has its face stuck in a bible and can't seem to move past FDR.

What America needs now is a plan that works and I don't care how we acheive it. Some people would cut off their nose to spite their face.

You must truly be amused at some of things you see here. I may not agree with everything you say but I am glad you are here to help cull the far right social conservative tin foil hat wears who have highjacked the GOP.

There is no doubt in my mind that once we get rid of the religious wing of the party common sense and good fiscal IDEAS will return to the GOP.

Remember the last inauguration when the left was having a coronary over the cost of $40 million.
The latest price tag for next week is up to $150 million. Nearly 4 times as much. But now it's OK.
The President has actually had to declare an official state of emergency in DC just to permit the release of enough funds to pay for this.

Well, except for when he admitted carrying the water of conservatives in 2006.

In fact, you could probably argue that he's been "carrying the water" his entire career. Sad. At least he has gobs of money...just too bad you can't buy a family with gobs of money :(.

The company one keeps...LoL!!!
The contrast of these two gatherings goes a long way towards explaining the current electoral status of the GOP and the conservative movement in general.

On the one hand you have a party concentrated on expansion as exemplified by Obama breaking bread with top representatives of both the left and right.

On the other hand you have a party apparently intent on self-marginalization as exemplified by Bush lunching on the same day with the paradigm of far right ideology.

Is it any wonder that new voter registration for the GOP has DECLINED BY 1 MILLION VOTERS?

Depends where you get your figure from -
Daily Mail (UK) - $160 Million.

There are a bunch of people claiming that the Obama day is going to be a similar cost to the last Bush day (approx. $40M) and the additional security costs will be about the same at an additional ($10M).

But then...

"Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-Washington, D.C., has requested an additional $15 million from Congress to help the city cover costs. That would double the $15 million Congress has already allocated to pay for all national events and demonstrations in Washington during 2009."

and ....

"Next week’s presidential inauguration of Barack Obama has already cost Maryland at least $11 million, state officials said today.

The unbudgeted spending, mainly for transportation and security, is part of some $75 million that Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia have already had to absorb, Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty told reporters."

"How awful that you must wake up everyday with all the hate that has no place to go now that President Bush won't be around. May you choke on your hatred."

That's what "liberals" said back in 2000 with the election of Bush. "What will you do without Clinton to hate anymore and to blame things on?"

I suspect that "liberals" will do the same as "conservatives" did the last eight years whenever Bush fouled something up by bringing up Clinton. "Liberals" will simply say "well, what about Bush?" It won't matter to them that two wrongs don't make a right nor whether the accusation has merit or not anymore than it did for "conservatives". It's their boy in the White House now and they must support their "leader" no matter how wrong he may be. Leader, party first and always! The Evil party will ape the Stupid party.

For the next four years you can look forward to this nonsense because the overall electorate has been dumbed down to a level of thinking that most charitably can be described as adolescent. That is why the only "change" that will be seen will be for the worse.

As long as the electorate continues to buy into the phony left/right paradigm there can be no meaningful return to constitutional governance. Neither side will recognize that they are being scammed by the globalists who control both parties.
