Isn't "Spitzer" Manhattan-ese for "putz"? |
The only time I liked Eliot Spitzer was at the Giants tickertape parade ceremony at NYC City Hall last month. This guy is finally getting his comeuppance. Good. Having said that, I feel sorry for his wife, his kids, and relatives. For that matter, I'm sorry the majority of my fellow New Yorkers voted for him into office 16 months ago. But don't blame me; I voted for John Faso. (Originally, I was going to write a long tangential paragraph about where I was when I found out this story, but I decided against that.) |
I actually feel sorry for all New Yorkers, including myself. I'm hoping David Paterson can restore order as the acting governor. |
I always thought of him as a power mad little butt monkey, myself. |
Yeah, the fact that he's got a lot of GOP-thugs as enemies didn't help his cause any. Was this a Karl Rove special? Just how long had the Bush-league of the DoJ been focusing on bringing down Spitzer, anyway? Ah, I'm sure it'll all come out into the open, but not before Bush and his fellow neocon thugs finally get that immunity they've been crying for.

Yeah, "Power mad little butt monkey" is about right. Like I said, he had it coming to him. I shouldn't be celebrating, but I and the village of Freeport (NY) are feeling good tonight. (As NYS AG in 2002, Spitzer sued the village of Freeport over alleged housing discrimination.) |

...maybe the last two words in that description of him might have been too extreme. He was definitely power mad, no question about that; also, arrogant, hubristic, felt he was above the law...and that's all I can think of for now. |

Elliot Spitzer is a democrat. Just thought you ought to know! |
It's official: Eliot Spitzer has resigned. |
WCBS-TV (CBS 2) pre-empted "The Price is Right" today to cover Spitzer's resignation announcement. CBS.com doesn't have the full episode up yet. Why couldn't he announce the resignation in the 10:00 hour? "Guiding Light" (which I don't watch, but my mom does) is expendable. Besides, CBS 2 would just re-air *that* overnight. But TPiR? Forget about it. |
...I DVR the show and watch it later in the day. So much for that. |
I just heard Eric Shawn report on FNC that David Paterson is more liberal than Eliot Spitzer. If that's the case, I guess we're going to be worse off as a state than under Spitzer. Election Day 2010 couldn't get here soon enough. |
Your a funny girl, there is a lot that is President Bush's fault. But this aint one of 'em! He hired his own hookers, he did, not president Bush. I think it was President Clinton that used the IRS and FBI to injure his enemies, not President Bush.
Today's show is now up at CBS.com. So, now I can see what was pre-empted by a governor that couldn't wait until 12:00 to resign. :-D |
I shouldn't assume how he'll govern before he governs. We'll just see what happens. |
