Posted by: Matt Lewis at 10:21 AM

Governor Rod Blagojevich (D-IL) has been arrested on charges of conspiring to profit financially from the selection of Barack Obama's successor in the Senate. Wow.

Wow. Now I don't get your last two posts to me.

Maybe I need to drink more...or you need to start making sense.

Damn it! I forgot to include it in my last post, but I wish you a Merry Christmas.

"I don't get your last comment to me. Are you saying that I'm a Republican?"

You might as well be, at this point, judging by your previous posts. It doesn't matter. This nation is royally screwed. Buy ammo and learn who your real enemies are. [hint: it isn't the two idiot parties. They are meant as a smoke screen to keep you distracted from seeing what your worst enemies have in mind for you,]

"sorry for assuming you are a Democrat or a liberal."

Hah! I get accused of this sort of nonsense all the time. I, in return, apologize for any bad words I've had with you.

"well, Ryan then we are agreed..."

We do indeed. We can disagree about the "war on terror", etc., but we have more in common than realize.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 3:18 PM
well, Ryan then we are agreed, actually
I think both parties are melding into one. The RNC is no longer my friend and the DNC is darn well not my friend. sorry for assuming you are a Democrat or a liberal. I don't even use those words around children. I say "bastards" instead;0

- this last bit is actually credited to PJ O'Rourke

I give you an "L" for learning and don't take this as a personal insult.

The problem we have is this. The partisanship of both these evil institutions have hurt the nation. I think that you can find enough grounds to convict most of the senior "officers" of the DNC and the RNC.

We have to get away from the set of mind they have placed us. That is to say the Stupid party verses the Evil party. Both of those entities are our worst enemies. At the very top they are very much united. Consider this. When Bush came in office he sealed the records on Clinton's criminality. Obama will do the same thing as "putting this behind us." One hand washes the other.

This is how the rest of us get screwed.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 2:46 PM
and btw
I'm actually waiting for W to sic some more attnys on Ramos, Compean, and Scooter for The Blaj's actions. The way the Stupid Party does things, I figure these guys will have to do more time for this.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 2:44 PM
actually, Ryan
YOU miss the point. I was predicting the defense strategy of the Dem/libs on this one. Since they use it almost every time, however, it's not really a prediction, more of an inevitability. You're way off base about cons recognizing crooks and malcontents. We recognize them and run them off. You guys promote them.

"Such is the verbiage of a classical liberal. If I have to explain in minutiae to satisfy your quibbling mind, then the "soul" of my comment is lost."

No, not lost at all. I understand your mindset. As a card carrying member of the Stupid Party it's all right as long as it is not a Republican. My point is that all of these crooks need to go to jail, regardless of party.

It is idiots like yourself that have saddled the rest of us with the likes Obama and Emanuel.

In order to understand the blues and greens all one has to do is read this blog.

In any case, plumber, if you have any kids, I hope they enjoy the Obama Youth. You helped put them there.

Oh, I've figured it out. I'm also rather fond of the term "Republicrats". I could have also called them all modern liberals, but to quote the Bard, "Brevity is the soul of wit".

Such is the verbiage of a classical liberal. If I have to explain in minutiae to satisfy your quibbling mind, then the "soul" of my comment is lost.

It also makes for a laborious and boring thread.

Most of them are corrupt. It is only to partisans that the "R" and "D" matter. It is all of their faults, regardless of political faction. One day you may figure this out.

Hussein will change the federal govt.
what life in the mob looks like. Anyone who believes that a man with 143 days in the US senate could raise 800Million without making some serious concessions (some bordering on our national security) is naive. Hussein made so many deals including the ones with the Clinton's (Hello, Hillary for Sec. of State? - what experience is needed?). The governor is the first glimpse at Hussein's inability to manage the experienced corrupt people surrounding him. His type of change will make the federal government what we see in third world countries - blatant corruption and nobody does anything about it because 'money has exchanged hands'. Hussein will make this worse than a third country. Hold on to your seats - we are the ones we have been waiting for. Forget the third world politics of corruption - he will be dealing with nuclear plants around the world and i wonder what deals he will make when he 'meets and talks to our enemies'. Any predictions?

LOL. If the former gov of Illinois, a convicted Republican, hadn't been so corrupt, Blagojevich wouldn't have been elected to clean up the mess Republicans made.

See? It is the Republicans fault.

heh, heh, heh

Before you speak Kathy
It's not a bad idea to have at least SOME basis for your statements.

As I just pointed out Palin was PRESIDENT of Stevens' 527, and sought him out to make a campaign commercial on her behalf.

Geez, crack a book why dontcha!

Lepanto and Plumber on Palin/Stevens
You guys are kidding right? For at least two years leading up to her gubernatorial run Palin was President of The Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service Inc., Steven's 527 group.

Later, during her run she tapped Stevens to film a campaign commercial for her where she stands smiling at Stevens while he explains to the assembled crowd that Palin is just the type of politician Alaska needed to fill the ranks when he left the Senate.

In short, Palin is no Polly Anna. When it suited her purposes she was more than willing to align with Stevens, and when it suited her purposes to kick him under the bus, she did so.

Hate to break it to ya bud, but Sarah Palin had absolutely nothing to do with Ted Stevens. You are really reaching here, but that is typical of you liberal loons. If Blago was a Republican you would be dancing in the streets wouldn't ya?

Don't lie.

Could it be that Palin has a record of taking on Good-Ol-Boy Republicans in AK (including Stevens), while BO marches in lockstep with fellow Dhimmicrats?
Fred writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 11:27 AM

When Senator Stevens was indicted and then convicted, i don't recall TOO many folks HERE tarnashing Palin with that stuff...Could it be right-wing hypocrisey involved?

Glad all of this is coming out AFTER the people of this country elect a crony of these guys to the highest office in the land. Will the NYT start asking hard questions now?

Sale
Nothing to get upset about, this was just a senate seat pre-Christmas sale. After Christmas, the state senate seats go up in price and the national senate seats skyrocket. God knows what cabinet positions go for these days.
The Plumber writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 11:23 AM
Typical Liberal
This is hilarious. This clown knew Fitzgerald was snooping around and still tried to sell the Senate seat. The gov is as brain-dead as the Senator which he sought to replace.

Also,

"It said Blagojevich also talked about getting his wife placed on corporate boards where she might get $150,000 a year in director's fees."

He should have asked for $249,999.99:)

Unless of course he knows that BO is a liar and that the ACTUAL tax cut threshold is closer to Bill Richardson's figure.

Kathy writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 11:18 AM
Finally
As a former resident of the incredibly corrupt state of Illinois, I could not be happier about this arrest. I hope he gets convicted of every single charge against him and spends the rest of his life behind bars.
Ryan01 writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 11:11 AM
Good
that this defender of illegal aliens is in trouble.

Maybe Bush will pardon him along with "Scooter" Libby, seeing how Bush loves illegals as well, along with treason in the case of Libby. After all, the person who garnered the conviction was Patrick Fitzgerald, the man who nailed Libby.
vonryansexpress writes: Tuesday, December, 09, 2008 11:09 AM
Weird hair, bad ethics
'What the tarnation is goin on over there.'

Under scrutiny already for all sorts of favoritism and kickbacks, he now conspires to sell the Senate seat.

One dumb and reckless crook. Then again, you've never a crook because you're smart are you?

Did anyone catch his on-tape bartering for a job with a non-profit or union? Well, you go where you're comfortable. Hey, how about the UAW?

At least it was not my Governor
It least it was not New York's Governor for a change. Since NY only recently found out about Hillary's appointment to Secretary of State Patterson has not had enough time to make any deals yet. Maybe this will have a chilling effect on his future plans. Probably not, in NY they are much better at it.
