Romney Uses New Technology to Target Values Voters in Iowa
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 11:17 AM

What's Mitt Romney's strategy for counter-balancing Mike Huckabee's Christian support?

According to one senior Romney aide, last night the Romney campaign hosted a tele-townhall conference call for values voters in Iowa.  Approximately 20,000 households were called, and close to 5,000 households participated, I'm told.

Conservative leaders Jay Sekulow, David Keene, and Mark DeMoss were speakers on the call.

According to my source, this wasn't merely a persuasion call;  Listeners were instructed to press "1" on their phone if they wanted to caucus.  They were then given instructions on where (and how) to caucus.

Considering that only about 75 to 80 thousand Iowans are expected to participate in the Republican caucus -- and that temperatures are very cold -- this seems like a wise way to campaign.

Clearly the Romney campaign is well-organized and has the superior turn-out mechanisms in place.  We will tomorrow whether or not it is the difference-maker.

Town Hall Teleconference
Town hall teleconference is an excellent option because attendees do not have to leave their home or office. Thank goodness for companies like AT&T and orangepoint.net/town_hall_teleconference.html. This saves time and money.

not only money but he can use a phone
Now people are going to vote for him because he can use a phone? He lost!!! Huckabee won!!!! I hope he continues to beat the fake, loser, liberal Romney. I'm sick of Romney's ilk.

Romney the humble
He keeps warm by maintaining pure thoughts and living cleanly. Won't that be a change in Washington!!!

But if we can't get Mitt then I hope it is the Bill and Hillary show. We need them for the entertainment value. It will make Mitt easier to get elected in 2012.

I meant to say "Even IF Mitt's..."

This $50 co-pay abortion nonsense is just that. Romney had nothing to do with this court-mandated item. He did not ask that it be inserted, agree to it, or have the ability to do anything about it.

I was pro-choice until I saw my first ultra-sound. I have been a staunch pro-lifer ever since. I have no problem with his changing his mind.

What is the use of arguing your point if when those with whom you are arguing take your side you dismiss them as a "flip-flopper"?

Even Mitt's not 100% pro-life now(which he says he is and we have no reason to disbelieve him), I would much rather have the borders secured and businesses that hired illegals punished and have deportation through attrition than open-borders, dollars-for-illegals'-children Schmuckabee.

Besides, there's not too much that the POTUS can do about abortion except for appointing SCOTUS judges and the next president may only have the opportunity to nominate one.

Schmuckabee has a lot to answer for regarding his liberal tendencies and foreign policy idiocy.

Seriously now,
What does values does Romney really have to run on??

Romney speaks about faith in America then unleashes, factually distorted attack ads on his competition. Values? C'mon, where were Romney conservative social values when he was governor?

On Pro-Life and Pro-Family issues he's been very liberal - now he claims to be conservative, he's been consistently dishonest about his opponents and he exaggerates his own records, can you trust him?

On business success? So he's a successful manager, a multi-multi-millionaire, a shrewd invester and a political insider, his father was a successful governor and businessman before him. He's had his way in life pretty much handed to him, he's spent millions of dollars campaigning in the early states outspending Gov Huckabbe by 20:1. Huckabee has spent spent most of his life serving others, and managed to become successful on the merit of his own hard work. Who has demonstrated the most leadership throughout their life as well as throughout the campaign?

What sincere message does Romney have to motivate us to vote for him? That he's not as liberal as Giuliani? Indications are he's just as liberal - only Giuliani has been married more times.

On taxes: Romney favors eliminating taxes on capital gains and earned interest to stimulate the economy. That's fine but who do you think that benefits most??? Huckabee favors eliminating ALL TAXES ON INCOME AND PRODUCTIVITY including but not limited to capital gains and earned interest, eliminating the need for the IRS altogether, no more payroll deductions and no more filing every year - EVERYONE BENEFITS from the FAIRTAX that's why it's called the FairTax!

January 3rd.
Breathe...that's it...inhale, and hold, and exhale...let it all out. Just let the caucus results happen. Let them wash over you and pass through you. Be one with the caucus results. Be one with Mitt Romney taking first. It's all good.

Yet another Huckster gaff
is anyone else appaled that Huck didn't know he was crossing a picket line when he went on Leno. Regardless of one's position on th writers' strike, the American people have a write to expect a Presidential candidate to know when he is crossing a picket line and to have thought about whether and why he is doing so. If this were only one example of Huck being uninformed, he might be forgiven, but it is only one of many such examples.

Not only then, while Romney ran negative ads, they were atleast dealing with a candidates record. Huckabee went personal, repeatedly calling Romney a liar. In my view, a candidate should be willing to debate and compare his record. Going personal the way Huck did is a means of trying to duck the issues and shut of discussion. It is the tactic employed by the Clinton's and the current crop of Congressional leaders over the past 8 years and which have so poisoned the political environment.

Please Iowa caucus goers. Think before you vote and do NOT support Huck.
THE POSITRON writes: Thursday, January, 03, 2008 2:56 AM
NOW I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR ROMNEY!!!
ROMNEY IS TOO NEGATIVE, MEAN AND NASTY. MITT ROMNEY WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SPOUT negative Ads against McCain and Huckabee. Not too long ago Romeny was way down in the polls by a large margin then suddenly Romney places highly negative ads against Huckabee and made dishonest statements against him within his print media. For two weeks Huckabee did not respond with negative ads. Since Huckabee did not retaliate negatively to Romney's ads, some thought that Huckabee was conceding that they were true about Huckabee. Then Huckabee's poll numbers started to go down with Romney in the lead.

Suddenly Huckabee threatens those negative ads and the hate mail hand delivered to peoples doors from Romney by presenting the truth about his own record and facts about Romney's record then suddenly Romney wimpy Romney cries out, "Not fair... I should be the only one to be allowed to use negative ads because the republican establishment will let me get away with it."

So when Romney gets a taste of his own medicine from any other candidate, he falls apart and screams that everyone else is being negative.
WHAT A WEASLE and A PHONEY!!!

Huckabee is the BEST candidate for the dangerous times that we live in. What also makes Mike Huckabee the most logical candidate is that he is not only attracts Republicans but also Democrats to his side without compromising his principles. Both side support is needed to win this election in 2008 and he has it.

Huckabee IS NOT A POLITICAL MASON nor a N.W.O. pundit and learn why this is good for America.

Huck probably picked up
a few percentage points by his appearance on Leno. Just think, more individual people saw Huck on Leno in one night than have listened to Hewitt's obsessive Mitt nonsense over the past year.

If I had 9 million dollars to spend in Iowa, I could probably buy a very good campaign organization for
Micky Mouse. Mitt is a real genius at buying people.

ROMNEY discusses GPS GUNS Technology !
Finally Candidates understand that the U.S. Congress should not be funding non-trackable, non-accountable giveaway combat weapons. period.

electro firing guns are faster, jam proof and tech-enabled

America repeats this pattern:

Gave weapons to Taliban to check Russia, now fighting to get power back.
Gave weapons to Saddam to check Iran, now fighting to get them all back?

Much easier to find if electro rapid-fire GPSGuns are trackable in war zones

and my 2 cents
I'm a Romney fan from way back. I used to be on board for the hukster, and was hoping he'd pick up second seat to Romney. But alas, the man proved to be a anti-mormon bigot, who tends to stick more than just a wet finger in the air. He also inserts feet at openings above his neck at every opportunity. I hope he enjoys Leno tonight. He'll have plenty of time to watch after he tanks in Iowa. Hard work pays off. Go Mitt.

"Huckabee has always had the values worth voting for?" You mean those values like pardoning of murderers, influence peddling and taking tobacco money.
BorderBill writes: Wednesday, January, 02, 2008 5:33 PM
Impressive
Romney's organization so far has been nothing short of impressive.

If he wins Iowa it will be interesting to see what he does in NH and SC to win there. I doubt he can win all three but if he does it will be nothing short of amazing.
Dr_B writes: Wednesday, January, 02, 2008 4:35 PM
Maybe Huckabee will
Use the same strategy to win the war in Iraq, close the border, deter Iran, or fix the budget.

I can hear it now...

"People of America, I'm not going to actually DO anything, think about strategy, analyze data or consult specialists. I'm going to just ask ya'll to pray that things will be ok."

Romney on the other hand, works like a dog, stumps, travels, organizes, strategizes and motivates his enormous team. You can't say Romney hasn't outworked EVERYONE in Iowa. The guy is an unstoppable energizer bunny.

That kind of energy is exactly what D.C. needs.

You are working harder than Fred and I would get behind you before Fred.
Big G writes: Wednesday, January, 02, 2008 2:54 PM
Good gosh
Fred doesnt want any...and he's proved it. If his supporters see more potential in him than he's willing to work for, he doesnt deserve to win.

Its like watching a kid that could play in the NBA talk about it but never work out, because thats not his style.

This is the NBA and Fred would rather go through the motions. Its hard to get enthused about a guy with potential that refuses to improve his game.
Con4fred writes: Wednesday, January, 02, 2008 2:23 PM

Please people, try to remember that neither Huck, Mitt, Rudy or John are Conservatives. All of them are dyed-in-the-wool RINO's.

If you want a candidate that will stick to ALL of Conservatism's core principles, I suggest you take time to read Fred Thompsons white papers.

It wasn't cold in Florida
It wasn't cold in Florida, where Romney ignored values voters as unnecessary. I'm afraid late to the pro-life movement Romney, will need more than slick expensive technologies to win over values voters.

Huckabee has always had the values worth voting for.
