GOP operatives are gleeful over today's Washington Post's editorial that debunks offshore drilling myths and a concession House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made on CNN last night that she would allow a vote on offshore drilling.
Pelosi told CNN's Larry King in an interview that aired Monday evening she may allow a vote to increase domestic energy exploration as a part of some type of compromise package that includes measures she supports, like releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
“They have this thing that says drill offshore in the protected areas,” Pelosi said. “We can do that. We can have a vote on that.”
Surely, Pelosi's concession is due to the fact House Republicans have taken over her House over August recess protesting her decision to close the chamber without allowing a vote on offshore drilling.
That strong cabal of House Republicans should keep it up. The pressure is working. And the GOP shouldn't stop until she concedes to a stand alone vote on offshore.

the idiotical, mockery of a female called Pelosi. If the conflict between Russia and Georgia has taught us a lesson it's this. "We need to drill, get our own supplies, proclaim our independence on ANY type of foreign Oil, drop Chavez, Admadinejad, AlMaliki, and the SAUDI's and other OPEC Cartel Members. No one can possibly drill cleaner, more responsibly than the U.S. It will provide additional jobs, for which we need to use our own population to exploit it. It can provide additional state revenues for those states that choose to drill. Its the time to do it, and do it here! |

...oil, coal, nuclear, wind, hydro, tidal, solar...whatever it takes. THEY'RE ALL ALTERNATIVES! There's nothing magical about the word "alternative" that excludes any option from the list. There's nothing inherently evil, wrong, or undesirable in any of these alternatives. Drill, mine, build! Human nature is part of nature - not apart from it. Human activity is just as natural as any other. |

McCain's fellow gangmembers continue to conspire with the Democrats to pull the rug out from under the GOP House members. McCain will join them as soon as his backstabbing knife is sharp enough. |

my bet: Pelosi will only let a bill come to a vote on the floor if it's watered down with excess profit taxes & lots of other favorite Dem givewaways.
Then, the Repubs will have a political problem: vote down more drilling, or vote for the appearance of more drilling while giving away the store on other Dem issues. |

The House Republicans deserve congratulations and encouragement.
Congratulatins for giving the Looney Left a black eye and forcing their hand on this critical issue.
Encouragement to keep up the pressure until they get what they want - a straight up vote on off shore drilling.

I am not buying anything Pelosi is selling.
“They have this thing that says drill offshore in the protected areas,” Pelosi said. “We can do that. We can have a vote on that.” Wow, that sounds extremely professional, "this thing."
If anything comes to the floor, it will be jam packed with all sorts of stuff. I am sure windfall profit tax will be in there. Have to make sure that we get "Big Oil."
