... You won't find a lot of philosophical diversity on Meet the Press this week. The panel will include such conservative luminaries as David Brooks, E.J. Dionne, Rachel Maddow and Mike Murphy. Is it asking too much to have at least one conservative fill in as the token conservative??? I suppose Brooks and Murphy are what passes for conservative in some circles, but come on. Do Brooks and Murphy really pose a philosophical counterbalance to the extreme liberal positions of Dionne and Rachel Maddow? Aside from the lack of philosophical diversity, I have another question: Why the same faces week in and week out? I'm quite confident I could put together a list of fifty (50) fresh and qualified conservatives who would do well in this arena. If I can do that, why can't an NBC producer???
|

1. Because under stress, people fall back on their best learned behaviors. In this case the MSM is stressed by buyer's remorse, and can only think to call the same old, same old week after week. It's comfort food for the mind, the pundit equivalent of meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
2. Because the producer's would have to track down some phone numbers instead of relying on their speed dial. |
|
|
David Brooks and Mike Murphy are the equivalent of what passes for Obama's speeches to foreign nations. Both are embarrassed by and apologize for conservatives, much as Obama does for the United States. Real conservatives are neither embarrassed by nor apologize for either. |
|
|
Why should MSNBC offer a "token conservative"? You people have your entire network running 24/7/365 propaganda for the GOP. |
|
|
I guess that brilliant statement was about Fox, the one and only station that leans towards the conservatives, what having every other station put out the leftist crap is not enough for you? |

that COULD expose the fraud the are selling. If no one can argue with you, YOU MUST BE RIGHT, is their motto, so they dont invite anyone who could successfully debate their crazy idiotic insane ideas. |

washington is totally wired for you right-wingers. you get more than a fair representation in the corporate media. here is the funny thing: where the silent majority across the fruited plain shakes its head at your tired stupidities, the fools inside-the-beltway and within the MSM take you clowns VERY seriously.
boo hoo about MTP this weekend. but your campaign of chestthumping and verbal intimidation over these past decades has the media terrified. in fact, the corporate media is the only one who does not understand that a secular realignment has occurred in the American body politics and the formerly ascendant Republican party is now on the verge of--poof--disappearing. as people are slaves to their personal memory, it seems unfathomable, and so your idiotic voices will always be heard.
but your era is over. your team drove the country aground, starting with Reagan. we are not great--economically, strategically, morally--and because of your crackpot theologies. the silent majority has left you. they are not with the Dems per se, but they are definitely away from you. you guys have as much credibility as the radical leftists had back in the late 70s. you should be glad that you get any airtime at all. but you do get airtime. wildly disproportional airtime. this whining about the "liberal media" just shows how flat and stale your argument has become. ha ha. it is frigging great. you are corpulent, fat, and self-insistent. and utterly irrelevant from the moral standpoint. |

1.) Has NO knowledge of economics. Shoved a stimulus package down the throats of America---did not even allow for it to be read. He promised a MAX of 8% unemployment as a result. OOOooooooops, major blunder.
2.) He did not even write the "Stim Package"---opted rather to leave himself vulnerable to the incredible ineptitude of his dimwitted congress. Gave new life to, "Chickens......Comin' home to ROOST!"
3.) Nor did he write the ObamaCare health plan. Gave complete control to the same feckless bunch who wrote the, "Stim Package". Shoved it down America's throat---wanted it done before August recess. OOOooooops, did'nt happen.
4.) Has proven that "campaign mode" is a profession unto itself.
5.) Promised Americans that with his NEW, conciliatory tone with Europe, he would gain their reinvigorated support by sending more troops to Afghanistan----OOOooooops, not happenin'. He promised that our allies would gladly take prisoners allowing for the closing of, GITMO. OOOooooops. Wrong again.
6.) In March, introduced his NEW strategy in Afghanistan. Appointed a new general. This general has been largely ignored and disprespected. There is overwhelming evidence that the prez' is leaning towards that same behavior he perfected as Illinois Senator; EXCEPT, registering as, "PRESENT" is simply not an option as America's leader.
7.) Iranian nuclear revelations? OOOoooooops, we'll simply get together and fix this with, "no pre-conditions".
8.) Yanking missles from Poland---without advance notice? Let them eat cake.
9.) Self-ordained, "Olympic Oaf".
10.) Has exhibited that supreme narcissism and ego will rule the day.
This prez' was pegged over a year ago. A man of no experience. A man deemed, "unprepared for the office of POTUS"---as quoted by his now, Vice President.
A man criticized by the leader of France----OUCH-----as a "Bumbling Idiot". France, no less... |

She's not been around. Great freshness in the air as a result of this. Oh well...perhaps another site has been graced with the presence of pedantic and oh so predictably pathetic spew... I wish I could say she's missed, but, as Mark Twain said of her,
"In religion and politics people's (Pathetic Liberal's) beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing." - Autobiography of Mark Twain |

PL. If you don't have anything relevant to say, Keep your mouth shut and do not post. It is a good rule to live by as you are wasting thread space. |

Mr. Lewis writes, "I could put together a list of fifty (50) fresh and qualified conservatives"
I would love to see this list... So where is it? |
|

You shut up with your tired azzz posts. |

"Is it asking too much to have at least one conservative fill in as the token conservative???"
Who's on the other sabbath gasbag shows? Will President McCain be making another appearance, his 200th?
Have you done a statistical analysis of the political leanings of the people on MtP and the other shows over say the last year? Others have, and it's not a pretty sight: wingnuts up the wazoo. |
|
Those 50 conservatives have real jobs so don't have the desire to pontificate on weekend talk shows. They're resting, recreating like normal human beings versus those living on George Soros grants.
Now that I think of it, what the hell am I doing on this blog on a Saturday?!?!? |
|
How can Meet The Press continue to run with only 4 viewers - Pathetic Statist, Ericccc, Chicken coop and Bob Munck (spelled correctly?).
Oh, maybe Gregory's wife and Mrs. Dionne and Butch Maddow's significant other may tune in, but is that enough to justify keeping it on the air? |

The problem is who are the Rhino's. I will not vote for any of them. I voted for McCain but will not do so again. The same goes for Graham. Voting record, protecting the Constitution, maintaining a strong defense, smaller government, personal responsibility and actually representing constituents are several of my key requirements. |

Isn't your alma mater playing this afternoon? It is the MELTING ICEBERGS, INSANE STATE?
The chip on your shoulder is dried poop. you stink. You are the pet parrot of chris mathews. Bitter that, any would dare hold an opinion other than your own. Go back to your sustainable garden plot, and re-watch Al Gore's film. You will be tested on it next week. Then go to Mikie Moore's new movie, I hate everything American. Go pray to that pile of pond scum that spawned you in your evolutionary mind. You call our Theologies crackpot, have used every means to silence creationism, promoted evolution, hell, financed it, taught it as gospel, thus removing yourself from your Creator's care and concern. We of the narrow-minded right will seek the aid and comfort of the creator who endowed us with certain inalienable rights, among those not listed, are aid in peril and time of aid with a certainty of answer. This is called Prayer. Not only a believer's privilige, but a certain inalienable right. My God is bigger than your pond scum. |

Per the above-referenced post: "Barack Obama is the, "Peter Principle"";.....all I can say is absolutely superb!!!! Thank You!

Who did the research, the Others Brothers, no doubt? |

grave to see how remarkably FAR the once worthy Sunday show hath fallen. Rachel Maddow, for Gawdsakes..!? |
|
For YEARS we've watched these shows become dominated by wingnuts and faint-of-heart Dems - now it's YOUR turn to sit back and DEAL with it.
Oh--- I forgot. You guys don't "deal" with anything. You turn into tantrum-addled imbeciles: Teabaggers. Birthers. Deathers. Asshats. Ignorati. |

"Is it asking too much to have at least one conservative fill in as the token conservative???"
Oh, come on. There have been eleventy kazillion surveys showing that the Sunday talk shows are heavily skewed towards conservatives. Worse, they frequently put up a conservative and a moderate and act like they're being "balanced."
Heck, John McCain has been on the Sunday shows on average more than twice a month. He LOST the election. How often was John Kerry on in 2005, or Al Gore in 2001? |
