Obama German-Language Flier Translated ...
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 10:20 AM
A reader of the blog was kind enough to help translate the Obama flier for me.

Eintrittskarten warden nicht benotigt means “Entrance tickets not necessary.”

Diese veranstaltung ist kostenlos und fur die offentlichkeit frei zuganglich means “This is free and open to the public”

Also, he asks people to use public transport.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3269/2694048267_3e2a9043db.jpg

One additional point—Obama requires attendees of all rallies in the US to get tickets, and there have obviously been suggestions that that means that people who are not fervent Obama supporters are excluded.  But he’s OK with letting anyone (literally, any random dude off the street) into his rally in Germany?

So, if you’re a German who might be interested in hearing Obama speak, in person, even if you don’t agree with him, you’re good to go.  If you’re an American, who could next year be represented by him as president, who wants to hear him speak and doesn’t quite agree with him, you’re out of luck.

Does that suggest he’s more concerned with openness and transparency with Germans than he is Americans?  Isn’t that pretty lame for the guy who likes to talk so much about openness and transparency and who, presumably, is running to represent all Americans?

UpdateErick Erickson has a very thoughtful post on this.

And Reuters' Jon Decker has this:

"According the Rasmussen Reports survey, the belief among voters that reporters are trying to help Barack Obama win the fall campaign has grown over the past month by five percentage points to 49 percent. About 14 percent believe reporters favor John McCain."

jeez
you people sound desperate to attack Obama. Tickets? Seriously?

Obama doesn't have an extensive ground organization in Germany like he does in the US so ticket distribution and verification is not feasible.

This is seriously what you're daily line of attack is going to be? Tickets?

Obama the trojan horse...without America
How about letting our military men drop out if they don't like your Obama President....I think the drop out rate would be about 3/4....

then let's see what the liberal media says when America is hit again and again.

Michelle Obama's Name Removed from Terrorist Fundraiser's Web Page - Update: Terror Fundraiser's Page Disappears!

As we noted a few days ago, Hatem El-Hady, former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts (closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising), has now devoted himself to raising money for the Barack Obama campaign.

This is some seriously lame stuff
stick with the Marxist angle or some other silliness. This just doesn't resonate with the average right winger.

The obvious
Matt,

You may be missing the obvious thing here, Sen. Obama wants as large a crowd as he can get, especially if he's going to film it for anything. That's probably why it's easy to get access to the speech.

"Loyalty Pledge"
Obama has so much to learn from you people.

He needs to do what Bush did in 2004 and force everyone to sign a "Loyalty Pledge" before attending one of his rallies.

The question remains
why have a rally in GERMANY?!?! A freshman Senator with no connection to Duecheland feels the need to speak there. This dog and pony show campaign is really annoying.

Film at Eleven!!

I sincerely HOPE millions of Europeans flock to the feet of Barry Obama. I hope the 300 Obama consultants, film crew, and MSM record the event and replay it over and over and over.

Democrats just don't get it.

There is an independent spirit that permeates through REAL Americans. This spirit, born in 1776, still lives today. When the "Made in the USA" label is made in China - the LAST thing Americans want is a Euro-sucking Presidential candidate who is embarrassed about Americans not speaking French.

Keep running those reels of Obama being mobbed by Europeans.

Obama is having a political rally in Germany!?!?!?!

Paid for by the Obama Campaign
Hope this portion of the big charade is being paid with Obama's campaign funds!!
We the People have spent enough on all his photo ops. Three senators on a fact finding mission - - right - never have so many photos been taken on a Senate fact finding mission.
One would think the senior senator on this trip would do most - at least some - of the talking -instead Reed and Hagel looked like two lap dogs -while the JUNIOR senator bloviated.
Cheer on Europeans - cheer on - the voting is still done here in the USA.

Joe - Lern Deutsch!
Your comments are pathetic, and your reasoning should be totally disregarded. Your small-minded provincialism is particularly amusing, as is your terrible Babelfish translation. While you're on the site, try this:

In Allgemein sind die deutschen viel vernünftiger als die Amerikaner. Man muss das Land nur ein bisschen näher anschauen: weniger Kriminalität, weniger Armut, bessere Qualität (in ALLEM!), etc. Wenn du das nicht weißt, kann dir leider keiner mehr helfen. Mach bitte die Augen auf bevor du sowas Blödes schreibst.

I'm sure you'll get the general gist if you're ignorant attitude to foreigners is held under sway long enough for you to go to an online translation service.

Have a great day!

Get over it.
Enough with the media bias baloney. McCain would never be received by the Germans like Obama will be. This is jealousy. Also, the fact that CBS attempted to cover up a lie-strewn statement by McCain by inserting an answer from a different question kind of hurts the media bias claim. The media is responsible for McCain getting the nomination. They are responsible for him being as close (nationally) as he is.

Reagan helped bring the Wall down!
I find it rather ironic about the so-called enthusiasm Berliners/Germans have over Sen. Obama. After all, it was that other great Republican, Ronald Reagan, who played an important role in bringing down the Berlin Wall that divided Eastern and Western Europe. If they had implemented Obama's current appeasement policy then, that wall likely would have remained there today...not to mention the fact that we'd likely have a mostly Communist Europe after WWII. If McCain's team were shrewd, they'd pounce upon that fact...

blind
You would have to be deaf, dumb & blind not to see the media bias towards Obama, only an idiot could look at what's going on not come to the conclusion that Obama was fostered into the position he is in today....since he has not earned his way there. He is a creation of the far left, he is in their minds the "perfect" candidate, just Black enough to use racism as shield against his opposers, young & vibrant to appeal to the "skulls full of mush" college crowd, handsom & charming enough to swoon the gullable female leftists, & his presentations are "preacher-like". But, the one thing he needs the most is what he lacks the most....experience & the acquired wisdom to lead a Nation. He is so incredibly unquailified, he has zero experience in anything that could be a testament to his ability. A community activist is not a quailfier, this just describes him...a radical. The weak-minded person is easily lead to believe a man who promises the world, the old saying is, "if it seems to good to be true, then it probably is..." Obama is an appeaser, he will do more damage to our Nation than we could imagine, his approach to his policies already sets him up to be a "worldstage" pushover. We need a no nonsense President who does not bargain with third world Dick-tators, he must not be afraid to use the most Lethal force when neccessary. I am proud to be a part of the World's lone Super-power, but if Obama gets ushered in (with the help of the media) then we will rapidly become a second rate Nation, with a vastly weakened Military. You Left wing idealists won't appreciate your freedom until you lose it.

smatter (aka Euro Elitist Trash)
First of all the first "Joe" of 12:33 above is not me.

As for my highschool German, yeah it sucks but it is not like I need it much anyway (other than past efforts to pick up German girls in various locals which worked just fine because everyone knows German girls are easy). But what I said in German above translates to English as:

"Hello, I am Barack Obama. If you liked how I walk in the water, turn water into wine, feed and a multitude with a loaf and two fishes, just wait and see how I deal with social security and Medicare!"

Not exactly a slam on Germany.

Barack Obama is trying to channel JFK and Reagan with his Berlin visit. I get that. But substance matters too. Germans have had bad experiences in the past with leaders with charisma. Now when it comes to bad leaders, Germany is a world leader--I will give you that. I am not saying Barack Obama is anything like that. But I do fear a Jimmy Carter streak in the guy.
