The only thing the candidates can do is condemn push polling which Mike Huckabee has done...more than once. The 527 fiasco has made it unlawful for a candidate to pick up the phone and tell the push pollers to stop it. Push polling needs to be stopped, and Gov. Huckabee will be the first to agree. Mike Huckabee is NOT being dishonest, here, as some would have you think.
You, yourself, have the power to hang up your own phone. If no one listens, and they get hung up on every time, they will quit. It's one of the powers We The People have. Use it.
Speaking of We The People, maybe you would like to check out Mon-Tue (Jan 21-22) upcoming speech with Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee. Two people who believe in American Solutions.

can't contact whom ever it is who push polls.
Can only ask publicly that this be stopped. Or ask state or federal campaign officials to look into these push polls.
Huckabee has done so.
Those who post here and blame any candidate for what is completely out of their control, and would be a violation for a campaign to do anything about it, are off base.
Thank John McCain for the 527 problem. Just an off-shoot of campaign finance reform.
I guess it's not a problem that big money from Romney supporters has funded the Club For Growth ads that attack Huckabee nationwide.
Unfortunately, neither can be stopped in this campaign cycle.
Those who blame the campaigns have got it wrong. They know it or should know it.
At the very least put the blame where it belongs!

There are two problems Florida, the first is that these activities are against the law. I think everyone here agrees that McCain/Feingold needs to go, but we have to respect the law even though we don't agree with it.
The second is that Mike "Mr. Honesty" Huckabee loves to walk around claiming he's not doing an negative campaigning, yet its clearly happening. This just shines a light on the dishonesty of the Huckabee campaign. And since Mike's only appear is his supposed virtue, this makes a huge difference. |

I agree with some of the others, whats the big deal! the caller stated they wasn't connected to any candiate. How remarkable he was able to record it from the very begining and not knowing who it was before he answered Besides Romneys ad's were worse than that and he endorsed it. As for the comment about the Huckabee ad, he didn't run, but it was shown, he let the reporters see it so they wouldn't think he was lying when he first told them he was going to run one, but changed his mind. The fox news reporter admitted to Greta that he got a copy, Huckabee didn't know about and wouldn't even tell her how he got it, because Huckabee told his staff not to let anyone have a copy. Some people do not have the intelligence to think for theirselves, and they would rather believe lies than the truth. How does anyone know that Thompson didn't have this done under the pretense it was Huckabee doing it. I trust Mike Hckabee, before I would trust Thompson. |
|
|
After watching the video i just dont get it! Obvious this wasnt done under force! This guy agreed to the survey and it was Pro Huckabee and Anti Thompson. So What! There are commercials on TV daily with this same kind of stuff. But i dont care i dont have to watch them and I dont have to listen to some sap on the phone either. Hang UP! |
|
If it's illegal, then the government should start arresting people.
Otherwise, what's the big deal?
Also, it doesn't make any sense to blame Huck for these. By law, 527 groups are separate from the candidates.
More than anything, this shows what a sniveling whiner John McCain is, a sore loser. The temper tantrum McCain threw in 2000 had nothing to do with telephone calls, but he was just made because the Republican Party had dared to defeat his greatness.

This couldn't have come from Huck ... he doesn't engage in push polling.
Of course, he didn't know basic Mormon theology. He didn't realize that the bookcase looked like a cross. He didn't realize what the NIE had reported about Iran. He didn't know about how our borders are NOT being violated by citizens of Pakistan.
It's funny that "value" voters find this guy so ethical. Being pro-life and anti-gay aren't the only qualities to being a devout Christian. How about not getting cited by your ethics board more than 10 times or being named as one of the top 10 most corrupt politicians by Judicial Watch.
If you want values - there are several candidates that have more integrity and values than the Huckster. |

Aren't automated calls the ones with the computer voice on the end? Or am I mistaken? |
|
South Carolina law prohibits automated calls for political purposes with a penalty of 30 days in jail and a $200 fine for each violation, but such calls are commonplace.
Huck opposed his own commercial too, then showed it to the media.

Vote for Fred! The true conservative choice and the only adult of the group. |
|
I use to like Huck ... he was my 2nd choice. Now I truly distrust him. A man that is willing to weasel around the laws(even if the law needs changing) thinks he is above the law. What will he do in the white house? I cringe to think of another man from AR in the White House! Didn't we learn the first time?! Christians be wise here we have a wolf in sheeps clothing! True Christians try to follow the Savior. If Huckabee tried to turn them off we would know that he was a principled leader. We need to look fof integrity!
My gut tells me that if Huckabee is in the white house the GOp is in big trouble!!!!!! |
|
I've been saying it for weeks, folks. The Huckster is the Rep version of Clinton.
Now that we have a better understanding of where Huck comes from, it's time to shower and let the cleansing begin. |

push polling lies, scandals and unlimited funds for any political candidate. Mitt Romney will repeal this McCain/Feingold fiasco! |
|
While a push poll like this is annoying, it is 100% legal because the group doing the call discloses who they are. I think that it will be interesting to see how states react to calls like this and whether they decide to expande the current laws to make activity like this illegal.
This group's actions is well documented and Huckabee has publically asked 3 times in a very forceful manner that this activity be stopped. I do think that it hurts his campaign and he realizes it as well.
I read some of the quote attacking Huckabee above for this action, remember he has denounced this many times. Put heat on Common Sense Issues, not Huckabee. |
|
Gov Huckabee has repeatedly spoken out against push polling, my question is how is push polling any different or worse than the push-blogging that goes on around here? Both misrepresent the truth to people. Still, it's certainly not worse than providing legal counsel for terrorists:

and that group was run by well know Romney supporters. Take five minutes to Google and you'll find out. Also look for the name Carl Linder and you'll see the links between the groups. Clearly this push-polling is done by Romney supporters or Romney himself to use make him look like a victim of Mormon bigotry. This is lower then low, and it doesn't surprise me one bit the Hugh, the ultimate Romney shill throws this crap out. |

to finance a group in order to give Huck a bad name. Who is the King of going negative and dirty. Could it be old money bags himself? |
|
And thus we now know the reason for HUCKS rapid rise in IOWA against the Mormon Romney....
Considering the push polling he did against Romney in IOWA the questions he is using against THOMPSON are mild.
But,,,,, we are suppossed to believe Romney is the one who went negative.. Yeahhhhhhh |
|
I believe that call was received by a Fred suporter who had the presense to pick up his video recorder.
Huck says he has no control over these calls. Bullshiit. All he would have to do is tell them to stop and that would be the end of it, but he won't. Plausible deniability? What a huckster! |
|
|
Huckabee is THE WORST! Shame on him for dirty push polling! He is going to give all the Evangelicals a BAD NAME! If a candidate cannot compete fair and square, they should not compete at all. (Goodbye Huckabee) |
|
I used to like HUCK and consider him as an OK candidate: UNTIL
1. his hate success campaign 2. researched his PRO Illegals policies 3. discovered he is pro Criminals 4. discovered he prefers tax hikes
HE promotes "ENTITLEMENT"
HE IS A PROVEN BIGOT |
|
BIGOT Huck hates success, personal responsibility, ambition, achievement, risk reward, personal sacrifice:
He is one of those **** christians who has nothing other than HATE to offer: |

in 'God's standards'
David Edwards and Muriel Kane Published: Tuesday January 15, 2008
The United States Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from "We the People." However, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee thinks it's time to put an end to that.
"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."
When Willie Geist reported Huckabee's opinion on MSNBC's Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski was almost speechless, and even Joe Scarborough couldn't immediately find much to say beyond calling it "interesting,"
Scarborough finally suggested that while he believes "evangelicals should be able to talk politics ... some might find that statement very troubling, that we're going to change the Constitution to be in line with the Bible. And that's all I'm going to say."
Geist further noted of Huckabee that if "someone without his charm," said that, "he'd be dismissed as a crackpot, but he's Mike Huckabee and he's bascially the front-runner."
|
|
Im not a Christian, or not Christian enough... and the ..."United States Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from "We the People." However, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee thinks it's time to put an end to that."

If you add up the numbers for the latest SC polls you realize that there are not enough undecided voters to shift the results a lot. Any change in the order of finish is going to have to come from one candidate taking soft support from another.
That explains the Huckabee (I will never go negative) push polls.
Huck is right he has to win SC (Ditto for Fred). It will be interesting to see if Romney gets any bounce in SC after he has downplayed his expectations. |
|
Dirty, sneaky politics, again by the Evangelicals? I don't believe it!
Mitt for Prez! |
|
Way to go preacher man.
Go Huchazombies Go!! Those you cannot convert you must eat. |
|
|
So far only Huckabee has been attached to push polling. The anti-Mormon push polling was finally linked with a 527 group that supported Huckabee. Nobody remembers that, even though it was reported here on Townhall. |
|
|
Well the Hucksters are at it again. |
