HamNation: Racism! It's Everywhere!

It's in every political ad, as long as you look hard enough. According to my findings, even Harold Ford Jr. himself is sending coded messages.
My column, on the same subject, is here. As one of my commenters put it so well, "I'm fixin' to throw a fit over this."
And, if you missed Chris Matthews calling all of us racists earlier this morning, go here and let the healing begin. This Philadelphia native and Washington denizen knows all about the South and how to turn it from the neanderthal's paradise it is now into a tolerant liberal's dream. 1. Assume all Southern whites are racists and treat them with nothing but contempt. 2. Never mention interracial anything for fear of rousing them to riots. 3. Get all the black guys to start acting "unthreatening" and "child-like." That should do it. Thanks, Chris!
Update: Seriously, these people have issues. This liberal "debunking" of the RNC's ad alleges that the hunter pictured in the ad in camo paint, is actually in blackface. The. Hunter. Is. In. Blackface. He sees the hunter and thinks blackface. Who has the racial hang-ups again? Projection.
Thanks once again to producer Justin Germany of Campaign Solutions for his great work on this.
Update: Ace has more ideas for great Republican commercials: "That's the kind of ad that would motivate me, a conservative racist homophobic retard."

Ms. Ham,
I call racism on the "buzz cut" haircut comment. Everyone of a certain age (that being old, decrepit, farts such as myself) "knows" the gentleman from Montana is wearing a “Flat Top,” not a buzz cut.
Cheers! |

You have got to stop! Between you and Michele Malkin at HotAir.com I'm getting behind on my Ann Coulter and Mike Adams columns! |
|
Seems that racism exists everywhere Republicans are and nowhere we're not.
Guess we should just go away and racism would go away, right?
Stupid liberals..... |
|
|
Ms. Ham, I think you need to upgrade your sound recording equipment. There's a high-pitched whine accompanying your voice that goes away whenever you cut to another video or sound clip... but keep up the good work regardless! |
|
|
The argument still does not work. Pay attention now. REAL racism (an ignorance shared by ALL colors) cannot be addressed with authority when SILLY, PATHETIC, charges are made by those that have no other argument to make but to FABRICATE racism where it is not. I am not holding out hope for your understanding.. |
|

Clearly, MKH's red shirt was worn to mock Native Americans and suppress their turnout at the polls. Will this country never rid itself of its blatant racism? I weep for the children. |
|
This is the second vlog of yours that I've caught. You've taken to it like a fish to water... and I thoroughly enjoyed the background music in both videos... I especially liked the "What's your name little girl" and the "I've got friends in low places" bits.
Keep up the good work... both you and Justin are doing excellent jobs.
I look forward to your next vlog.

The ad appeals to the Republican base. The party of George "Macaca" Allen, Tony"tarbaby"Snow and Conrad Burns I wonder how anyone could imply that a Republican ad is racist. |
|
what?? What moron thought the hunter was in blackface?? I can't even imagine the depth of stupidity that this person has descended to.
The only way you could take this ad to be racist is to break everything into racism and not racism.

I can imagine the KosKids head exploding as I type this. And that warms me deep inside... |
|
|
I noticed that about the music, too. I'll work on that for next time. Most of that happens in post-production, so I'll tell Justin. |
|
The cries of racism are being heard so often the we are becoming inured to them. The tendency to see everything through the viel of race has muted the voices of those who truly are being treated unfairly. Sad, really, wonder what Dr. King would think.

Democrats are not racist, republicans are not racist, PEOPLE are racist (some).
So far only racist people seem to find the racism in these ads. Nice vlog MK (again)

Another good Ham Nation, MK.
From what I can see, the Democrats are offended by the deep revulsion it brings them to see:
A white woman wink at a black man
A black man who is too 'nice'
Drums being played during an ad when a black man's picture appears, even if it also plays when a white man is pictured.
To those of us who don't consider race the deciding factor for every issue, it sounds like they are the ones with deep seated prejudices.
I mean, the vast majority of us have mixed racial families in our lives, we have many black friends who we consider quite nice, and we have heard John Bonham play without picturing those friends and family members dancing in loin cloths.
We just aren't offended, or even surprised or bothered, by these things being depicted on TV. Maybe democrats need to get out more, they seem to think the majority of Americans think like THEY do.

...another excellent vlog.
I have a question: Do to the overwhelming success of HamNation, did you have to cut the neck of that shirt from the previous post in order to get your head through it?
Look forward to more. |
|
Good HamNation, but the BG music was a little distracting. Maybe it was because the music was too loud versus MKH's voice, or maybe it was because I liked the songs. Probably both.
Never thought I'd hear REM and Garth Brooks on the same post. Renaissance girl, yeah!
Racism is the card liberals have up their sleeves that they like to play when they're afraid of losing.
LIBERAL: Ford is a man of solid moral conviction. NEO-CON: At a Playboy party?! LIBERAL: RACIST! |

Ok, not really. Just wanted to be the first. :) |
