Robert Gibbs makes Scott McClellan look like a genius
Posted by: Dwayne Horner at 6:46 PM
Robert Gibbs, Obama's Press Secretary, again makes Scott McClellan look like a genius:

"In summation, Mr. Gibbs comes across as a fool."

Sorry, I can't argue with you there. I've never seen Gibbs speaking.
Crispian writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 11:54 PM
Mr. Munck
Maybe so, Mr. Munck. That's a broad topic of discussion.

Sandra merely pointed out that many white people (recognized by society as such, if not you) appointed by Obama suffer from a great variety of defects (eg. head of Treasury doesn't pay taxes, Press Secretary who is a poor communicator) and couched her statements in a historical argument. She did not say that race determines one's nature.

No need to go ranting about racism just because she invoked the well-recognized concept of race.

In summation, Mr. Gibbs comes across as a fool.
Bob Munck writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 9:28 PM
Crispian 9:06 PM
"But our society does recognize the concept of "races" delineated by physical characteristics such as skin color."

Society is wrong. There's no one physical characteristic that can be used to determine a person's race or even membership in a given race. The very idea of race is undefined. Using race to make judgments about people is about as useful and accurate as using their astrological sign.

Our preoccupation with race is another of those things that will cause our future descendants to look back and ask "what in the world were they thinking?"
Crispian writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 9:06 PM
Mr. Munck
I'm mostly just picking on you - mirroring your superfluous criticisms of others. All in fun ;)

But our society does recognize the concept of "races" delineated by physical characteristics such as skin color. I applaud your blindness to others appearances, if not this social reality.

None of this detracts from the fact that Mr. Gibbs comes across as quite the fool.

"I believe Dr. Chu refers to himself as American of Chinese background or Chinese-American!"

Do you think that he's referring to his skin color when he does that?
Retired Lady writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 6:56 PM
Goodness Bob Munck
I believe Dr. Chu refers to himself as American of Chinese background or Chinese-American! But then again, he, perhaps, does not have your keen understanding!
Bob Munck writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 6:30 PM
Crispian 5:11 PM
"This is a great illustration of your ability to understand arguments and rebut them. Steven Chu is not white."

Ha! That never even occurred to me. You're saying that because his grandparents were Chinese, even though he has pale skin and was born in St. Louis, he's not white. What color would you say he is?

How many colors do you divide the world into? Is a swarthy Italian white? Apparently I've underestimated the depths of racism.
Sandra writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 5:49 PM
Frank - Obama said it not me
You typical white person you! Obama referred to whites as 'typical white people'. His theology refers to them as 'whitey'. I was using his premise to 'esplain' why he is picking such dumb white people - SERIOUSLY! Tax cheats are not difficult to find but 6 in a row? Common? Even you unracist person can figure that one out. If it is still not clear try and decipher this statement 'it is our time now'.

If you think whites are included in that statement, find out what the Black Liberation Thelogy teaches i.e. whitey was created by a different god than blacks, hence the left brain for the former and right brain for the latter. As psychotic as that sounds - IT IS WHAT YOUR PRESIDENT THAT YOU LOVE AND SUPPORT BELIEVES!

Keep the change Mr. 'unracist'.
Sandra writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 5:44 PM
Bob Munck - unclear about race issues?

Crispian writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 5:11 PM
Mr. Munck
Sandra said: "Obama has picked the most unintelligent (is that a word?) white people to work for him."

You said: "Steven Chu, Obama's Energy Secretary, has a Nobel Prize in physics. Do you?"

This is a great illustration of your ability to understand arguments and rebut them. Steven Chu is not white.

Press secretaries
"I'm surprised the resident commie trolls aren't flocking here like a bunch of buzzards, defending that moron!"

WH press secretary is the most thankless job in the universe, not least because the WH press corps makes Tiger Beat magazine look like the old London Times.

But those of you who think the stock market index shows that Obama is failing need to come up with a quote from anybody in the administration that the economy would be turning around in the first month or two of the new administration. That's just a phony benchmark you all have made up - "strawman" is too dignified a term for it - and are now holding him to.

AlGoreBull got a Nobel Prize as well. Do you think that means he's smart? Duh, nope. Not if you consider how he justifies getting people to buy carbon credits while flying in big gas guzzling jets and 28k power bills...

Frank has joined the rank as thread jester along with Raelei! Good for chuckles!

Clendon, oh but he has a PhD!!!! Apparently energy policy escapes him!

Ah yes, what a brilliant change O is initiating: the destruction of our country!

Cramer makes McClellan look smart
After all, wasn't he the crackpot who claimed that "all is well" with Bear Stearns a mere 6 days before it collapsed?:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUkbdjetlY8

The bright light of market analysis is usually 5% behind the market in his stock picks:

http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/07/are-cramers-stock- picks-five-percentage-points-worse-than-the-m/

Frankly, aside from the swipe that Dwayne is making at Gibbs, the underlying message SHOULD be this:
Do we trust the same guys who cheerlead the stock market and the fake success from traders borrowing obscene amounts of other people's money and grow rich from helping America's economy implosion?

My money's with the new President who is looking to diffuse the gluttony and set a sane course for everyone, not just the greediest in the industry whose bottom line is ratings.

And regarding Gibbs: he is dealing with reporters who are undoubtedly making over $250K and squealing about their pending tax increases. I do not feel sorry for their very selfish, biased lack of journalistic integrity. The fact that Gibbs even answers the questions from these sloths shows incredible fortitude and good humor. Kudos.

You are absolutely correct. Even his choice of Biden as VP fits this model.
tangoromeo writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 8:15 AM
Bob, it's great that Chu
has a Nobel prize in physics. It helps offset that he didn't know part of his job as Energy Secretary was to be knowlegeable about OPEC and global oil market policy, et al. Petroleum and all it's associated activities and markets are the business of the Energy Department. Another fine vetting job done by the Obama administration in regards to briefing a potential nominee up front about his duties.

I thought Palin didn't know what she was supposed to do if she became VP because she's stupid. Glad to see a brilliant Nobel Prize winner also doesn't know what he's supposed to do in the job he's been offered!
Clendon writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 8:09 AM

Yeah, we have a great energy policy. The energy companies will be bankrupt soon.

Indeed, Muncky Boy loves to chest puff and correct people all the time.
He must not have gotten over his teaching position and is compelled to beat down anyone for anything.

And,I agree. Because look at Obama, a supposed Constitutional scholar and Harvard Grad. Apparently he missed the boat, didn't he?
Nick writes: Wednesday, March, 04, 2009 2:48 AM
Freudian slips?
It was interesting that Gibbs kept saying he was going to get in trouble for possibly appearing to come out against CNBC and how he slipped and referred to the people over at CNBC as his friends and then corrected himself and said that Kramer was his friend. Freudian slips? I have a feeling that he wouldn't be so worried about offending people if the comments about Obama's policies were made on a show on Fox News.

Mr Munck
How snarky of you..as if degrees are the be all and end all..just because someone is book smart doesnt make them intelligent. I don't need to defend Sandra, she does a pretty good job all by herself. However, it rankles me when psuedo intellects are such snobs they think a piece of paper in this dumbed down educational era means something. I know how much you love him, so I will cite Rush as an excellent example of someone who has made it on his own and isn't an educated fool. Scripture says something about
that..professing themselves wise they have become fools. Your posts are always a good example. Chu believes in Gore Bull Warming..need I say more? As if a mere mortal man can do a thing about our climate..of course
maybe there is something to it..since there's a lot of methane coming from Congress, trolls and Gore.

the truth is
the rich are getting out of the game, and wont come back to play till this IDIOT, and his cohorts in congress are GONE. Make the rich PAY for all of this crapola, YEAH RIGHT, they will just not play anymore, they have their money dont really need more, and so Obama ,Polosi, and Reid , can just find their funding elsewhere.4 years isnt that long of a vacation for the really rich, and when no money comes in just how long do you really think Obama will last, not long Id guess.Someone will actually use his birth as a way to remove him if it keeps going as it has, and when those idiots in the Obama msm finally see it aint working they will jump ship like the rats they are and go after him and others without mercy, aka Bush.it is now a sporting event getting ready to unfold before our eyes, they dont seem to see, AMERICA is great even if they dont think so, and will get past this and move forward, but they will be gone from any power or station in this country .
Sandra writes: Tuesday, March, 03, 2009 11:10 PM
O making 'whitey' look bad?
Obama has picked the most unintelligent (is that a word?) white people to work for him. I think he is making up for those years we got exposed to 'dumb' blacks on tv and politics. Now, he is reversing that whole concept by giving us 'goma pile' in the whitehouse.

For Obama, everything is about race - whitey = bad, and blacks need liberation from past, present and any potential white injustice.

Did Obama let Rush choose his spokeman, this gay rights advocate proves the reason why gay people should never be married nor even have civil unions recognized by any government agency. I pray this idiot does not have childern and believe a constitutional amendment should prohibit gays from ever adapting anyone else childern. Gays use their financial influence to steal minority childern from family members in cities like Houston, the gay party is the current comptroller of the City of Houston.

AVOIDANCE
IMHO Gibbs et al on the left are doing whatever they can to distract from the collapse of the market. Their rationales are obviously lame, to me at least. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I would bet the $5.00 left in my 401K that they are near panick in the White House about 'O's effect on the market. They are also in denial, again IMHO, about it; hence the in it for the long term comment. Good luck with that market strategy. I look for the markets to turn around about the time Obama and the Dems are voted out, not before. Of course the entire country will be broke by then, but we are American free marketeers, we will rebuild.

Arrogance on display!
Such smug, haughty arrogance from someone who, mostly likely, has never signed the front of a business check. So Cramer is just another talking head from Wall Street (the source of all evil) who surely doesn't know what Main Street thinks or is concerned about. Never mind that over 50% of Americans own(ed) stock on Wall Street companies and how well they do directly affects how Main Street functions. The disconnect on display is astounding in its breadth!

And to pretend that Gibbs doesn't know what his boss' former supporter says on national TV is laughable. These guys monitor everyone - it's part of their War Room strategy.
anne writes: Tuesday, March, 03, 2009 7:24 PM
I think they do have goal ...
and they are succeeding. Quickest way to close the gap between the rich and the poor is to make the rich poorer.

I was never rich but I'm a whole lot poorer. What was I thinking fulling investing in the 40lK and the IRA? Putting a little money away for my kids' education? I have sacrificed mightily trying to plan for the future and I would be in the same boat if I had spent every penny.

Long term thinking my a**.

Countdown
I'm wondering how long before he's replaced. He has to be the worst WH press secretary in my lifetime.
Retired Lady writes: Tuesday, March, 03, 2009 6:59 PM
Does O have any intelligent
advisers? According to Gibbs, O has "long term" goals, so the Market tanking NOW is OK, apparently! Oh yes the rich are going to rescue us!!!! Anyone who has faith in this "empty suit" (to quote a friend), I have some property on Mt Soledad you can buy cheap!
