I read a quote recently that went something like, “Of all the great men in history, we only seem to remember their greatest contributions and achievements and not their lowest moments and mistakes.”
This is what our society has done for Thomas Jefferson who owned slaves and had an illegitimate child, Martin Luther King who plagiarized part of his Ph.D. dissertation and many of the great thinkers and artists of the renaissance who were gay and had odd habits of their own.
Yet many people cannot seem to move past Michael Jackson’s eccentricities and think of all the positive things he did.
