The Democrat Scandal
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 4:17 PM
Even as Democrat Senator Chris Dodd was scooping up more campaign contributions from Freddie and Fannie than anyone else in Congress, Democrat Congressman Barney Frank apparently had a pretty substantial conflict of interest.

Even as Frank was writing legislation to deregulate Fannie Mae, his then-partner was an executive there who stood to gain from the deregulation.

Just imagine how the press would be labeling all of this a "Republican scandal" if the shoe were on the other foot.

CHARGED
Barney Frank should be put in jail along with Dodd and Pelosi It is time to hold these people who are supposed to be working for us accountable. Enough is enough. I get sick of them blaming everything on Bush. He is responsible but so are the Democrats. I am not my brothers keeper and should not be punished because people who lived above their means.

Wait til Bill O'reilly finds out...
Barney you might very well be the ONE person directly to blame for my 401K's 37% reduction last week.
I can only hope that justice will prevail. There's hope, cuz O.J. Simpson's finally getting his.

This is disgusting
and even more disgusting is the fact that just because he is a democrat, he will get away with this both in the eyes of the law, and in the eyes of the public. I'm sure the MSM will never report a word of it.

I'm becoming very cynical and very tired. Why even try to fight them anymore?

Time for Conservative PAC's to retaliate
OK, John McCain has been quiet during the bailout process because he knows that we had to have it done and we needed the democrats to support it.
So he was stymied up until it was passed.
There is so much documentation available showing the democrats, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters and many more fighting against any new regulations to rein in Freddie and Fannie. All of these people and their buds got very rich off of these GSE companies.

It's time for someone to take the initiative and produce a short documentary that can be aired as a commercial (maybe 2 minutes long) and expose these dems and show the public what they caused to happen.

If it's effective it could derail Obama and possibly some other dems seeking office.

Let's make it happen.

"I am not George Bush. I am John McCain"
McCain has to say forcefully, “My name is not George Bush. My name is John McCain.”

For example:

“Senator Obama, Your entire campaign, for 18 months, has been built on the claim that I am George Bush. Do you want to see my driver’s license (pulls it out)? See, it says, “John McCain”. Do you want to see it? For 18 months, you have misled the American public into thinking I am, “4 more years of George Bush.” Well let me tell you, while our names may both have letters from the English alphabet in them, I differ from the President on many serious issues (#1, #2, #3, etc.). Let me repeat to you and the American people: I am not George Bush.

Furthermore, I have a reputation, built up over a period of 25+ years, as reformer and a maverick. Senator Obama, one does not acquire such a reputation after 25 years based on hot air and empty statements. One acquires such a reputation through action. And my actions, my record, is one of fighting corruption, and of reaching across party lines to do what is right for the country. This is a record America is very familiar with, and one which you have distorted.

Your record is the exact opposite. You have no accomplishments of great importance to this country, no major sacrifices. You have no consistent record of reaching across party lines or of fighting corruption. You run your campaign on a message of change, yet you have changed nothing in Washington or in Illinois. Rather than focusing on changing Washington, you have focused on running for President from the first day you arrived in office. And during this time, while I actively sounded the alarms about the impending financial crisis, which ended in a $700 billion bill for taxpayers, you were taking lobbyist money from the people who caused it. More money, I might add, than every congressman except one."

"I am not George Bush. I am John McCain"
(cont'd)...

Senator Obama, you bear some responsibility for this financial crisis. You and your liberal Democratic friends pushed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to act irresponsibly, which resulted in the millions of bad mortgages that now plague our system. While I fought to reform Freddie and Fannie, you were silent. This is a pattern in your career. You owe an apology to the American people, and a dose of honesty. You also bear some responsibility for those people who are losing their homes. You bear some responsibility for people getting in over their heads, and now losing their dream homes.

Senator Obama, you have not brought change to Washington, and you will not bring change to Washington, because you cannot bring change to Washington, because you are a typical politician. You have been part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I stand on my record, a 25-year record of reform and bipartisanship, which is exactly what America needs to make sure a $700bn bailout never happens again. You stand on a record of political corruption, ties to people of questionable character, naked ambition and empty words. Other than flowery speeches, as Hillary Clinton put it, you really bring nothing to the table. So you can spin my record any way you want, but the American people know it, the American people know I am a real reformer, the American people know that as President, I, and Sarah Palin, can bring real change and real reform to a corrupt system that needs it.”

Rebuttal #1:

You say I voted w/ President Bush 90% of the time, but you voted with him 80%(?) of the time; and Joe Biden did it 85%(?) of the time. This is a false measure. We both know that most votes cast in Congress are inconsequential. It is the consequential votes, the consequential issues, that matter. And on those issues, like Fannie and Freddie, and raising taxes, you were either conveniently silent or against the American people.

Realize now
I realize now that the intelligence of Obama Supporters has to be Zip, they believe that the Dems had nothing to do with bailout don't believe that Obama started ACORN, Freddie Barney Frank, Chuck Fannie Schumer, Chris Thieving Dodd, and a Dork Pelosi are very aware of who is responsible, but they know they are working with a bunch of dolt constituents who dont have a bit of intelligence. The democrats lack of intelligence gives them only certain options of people they can put into the White House. Dems now want a Community Organizer who created Acorn to run the white house like a huge ACORN. Republican Presidents have to babysit all Democrats because their only hope to stay in office is to offer free money to free loaders and to protect the people who steal Americans money, This is what you are wanting to do this country. The Dems tell you, OmG we are in a crisis, the world is going to collapse because of this bailout, but, we intend to add tons of pork to the bill so we can keep you deeper in debt to the government. What part of your party is crooked dont' you understand?
I would like for one Lib to do the research on the people who intend to support obama and let me know the total IQ level of these people and you will see that the intelligence level is very very low and Republicans and Conservatives are supposed to stand by and let a whole white house of idiots run our country?

PATRIOTIC REPUBLICANS AND CONSERVATIVES GET OUT AND TELL THE INTELLIGENT PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY TO VOTE MCCAIN PALIN, SO WE CAN HAVE SOME INTELLIGENCE IN THE OFFICE INSTEAD OF A BUNCh OF COMMUNITY WORKERS
PLEASE DEMS GO AND RESEARCH HOW ACORN WORKS AND THINK ABOUT HOW YOUR CHOICE WILL RUN THIS COUNTRY.
YOU GUYS NEED TO GET A CLUE AND GET YOUR HEADS OUT!

Throw the Bums Out (the Dems, that is)
It’s time to “throw the bums out” in this election and expose the culprits behind our $700 billion taxpayer bailout. The “bums” are Obama and the Democrats with their Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac connections, as Cal Thomas explained well in his September 27 piece, "Blame Democrats for Financial Crisis"
http://www.middletownjournal.com/o/content/oh/story/opinio ns/editorial/2008/09/27/swg092708thomas.html

McCain and the Republicans tried to stop the disaster through stricter Fannie/Freddie oversight; Dems blocked them, and Obama did nothing (just check on YouTube for CSPAN footage). No wonder: Obama has been the top recipient of Fannie/Freddie campaign contributions, behind only Democrat Chris Dodd (and just ahead of Democrat John Kerry). Some of Obama’s top advisors include former Fannie/Freddie CEO’s, who resigned under clouds of suspicion.

If Barack Obama wins the presidency, and Democrats retain control of Congress, then we will have great cause for concern, if not downright anger: the exact people responsible for the $700 billion bailout will be running both the executive and legislative branches, spending the $700 billion we are giving them and no doubt avoiding any real investigation or accountability. This is an outcome American cannot afford.

The only way to expose what truly happened and prevent a recurrence is to vote Republican this election.

Cause of $700bn bailout: Obama et. al.
Let's be clear, the cause was liberal social engineering, not "unbridled capitalism", and Barack Obama was smack dab in the middle of it. To wit:
1. As a community organizer, he worked for ACORN to force banks to make risky loans to low income people. Funny how we never heard that part of the story until now.
2. In Congress, he was the 2nd biggest recipient of Fannie/Freddie contributions.
3. In Congress, he also blocked (or refused to vote on) legislation (pushed by McCain) to rein in Fannie and Freddie.
4. As the Democratic nominee, he had Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson help/advise his campaign (former corrupt Freddie/Fannie CEO's)
5. During the $700bn bailout saga, he supported adding $20 billion in assistance to ACORN (it was eventually dropped from the bill).

Folks, we should all be pissed off at what has happened, and we should all want change. But electing Barack Obama is not the right answer. He has not brought change to Washington, and he will not bring change to Washington, because he cannot bring change to Washington, because he is a typical politician. He has been part of the problem, not part of the solution.

On top of all of this, he wants to raise taxes and spending. If we throw a tax-and-spend liberal agenda on top of the wreckage of previous liberal policies, we'll end up in a depression.

Don't vote for Obama just because you don't like George Bush. Please take a look at the situation we're in, and ask who is more likely to reform Washington.

If you want to watch a documentary on this whole thing, check out the Fox News special (sure, the Dems will say it's biased).

Its up to McCain
Well Senator McCain better get his butt moving if he is planning to be President. Ombama and crew as crooked as they are have a goal to rule and if they win we can look forward to have another Carter perhaps worse adminstration. All of his promises will probably fail and he will blame the Bush adminstration. I'm sure none of his crew members Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, & Rangle will ever have to do time. Just give Obama a throne and a new crown and he will be happy, life as we know it now will not exist, liberal will dance in the streets, until all of his promises never occur. Then its time to blame Bush again.

Shelly's reason for Voting...
Shelly, you are a real einstein. As frightning as it is, american's can vote for anybody for any reason.
Shelly must have raided her bank and put her money under the mattress. If not, do it now before Obama takes it from you!

If there is reason to convict
you can bet they will be convicted. If there is ONE thing we know about the GOP it's that they will not rest until they can claim some Democratic jail time - and they will whine, p!ss and moan about it until they get their way. The Party of Whiners. Heh.

But, since Dodd and Barney are not even remotely threatened at this stage, I'd say the bigger concern is to ensure the criminals who TRULY ARE responsible for our current problems - both economic and DoJ - should be frogmarched IMMEDIATELY. Including Karl Rove, Tom DeLay, G. Bush, D. Cheney, C. RIce, Rummy, Gonzo, etc., etc., etc.

Notice how all the BIG offenders are GOP?
Michele writes: Sunday, October, 05, 2008 7:55 PM
If I were a lib I would want to know....
I am watching 60 minutes evading the fact that people taking out mortgages they can't afford are at the core of this crisis. They have yet to use the words Freddie and Fannie and thier fundamentally blame for driving this financial fiasco.
They have managed to solely blame Wallstreet, and lack of regulation. They have not mentions the tracable facts that Republicans tried to pass 6 bills over 7 years to regulate Fannie and Freddie, only to be blocked by Chris Dodd(D), Barney Frank(D), Chuck Schummer(D) and Nancy Pelosi(D), to name a few.

National Security,
with out that,
nothing else matters,
in the last two years the Democrates have been in charge,
Pelsoi, Dodd, Reid, Franks,
they gave us Fannie and Freddie and ACORN,
AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED,
and they gave us change alright,
we dont need that kind of change.
