From Bill Kristol, a guy I trust more than anyone else when it comes to Palinalysis:
...she's freeing herself from the duties of the governorship. Now she can do her book, give speeches, travel the country and the world, campaign for others, meet people, get more educated on the issues - and without being criticized for neglecting her duties in Alaska. I suppose she'll take a hit for leaving the governorship early - but how much of one? She's probably accomplished most of what she was going to get done as governor, and is leaving a sympatico lieutenant governor in charge.
...it's going to be a high-wire act. The odds are against her pulling it off. But I wouldn't bet against it.

As I have written before Sarah Palin plays by her own rules when it comes to politics and it has served her well. I do not agree with Kristol that the odds are against her, in fact there are many pluses in her decision as I listed on my blog and in other posts. Whatever happens her decsion was cool and calculating, will it work? Time will tell. |

Here's some restoration, reformation, & revolution that Our Founding Fathers supported:
1) Advertise and Promote the Fact that you are forming a Grand Jury in Blogs, Local Newspapers and Community Organizations.
2) Form the Grand Jury and select a Foreman.
3) Select a Private Attorney General to make Presentments to Grand Jury, if local DA refuses to make presentments.

6) Schedule presentments by said Citizens.

8) Schedule presentment of said Documents to Grand Jury by Grand Jury Attorney General.
9) Have Grand Jury Attorney General present said Documents to Grand Jury.
10) After investigation and deliberation is completed, vote and issue a True Bill (Indictment) or No True Bill.
11) Announce all Indictments to the Press.
12) Serve the Indictment on the Judiciary for the Issuance of Arrest Warrants.

She quit before her term was finished once... why not again?
I liked her alot but if I was an Alaskan I would be PO'd right now!
They elected her to do a job and she left before it over plain and simple.
If she left to be VP, or higher office that would be fine. If she left because her family needed her that is ok (but i wouldn't vote for her again anytime soon if she had family obligations).
But holding an elected office you get an OBLIGATION to those that you serve to not quit for personal gain. Quiting to give speeches, focus on a book and travel and promote /prepare yourself is quiting for personal gain.
Its almost as big a let down as the Gov Sanford thing. (and i liked her a lot better.

If he were born in HI (which I doubt) he'd be a native born citizen, NOT a Natural Born Citizen which according to Art. 2, Sec 1 is the requirement to become President along with age 35 and 14 years living inthe U.S. And Natural Born means having two
parents who are citizens of the United States.

I have read the Constitution. I even know how to check on what is written therein. As you are undoubtedly aware, the relevant provision in the Constitution provides only the framework for the law, it is the law itself that actually defines the eligibility requirements for natural-born citizenship.
The relevant law is, as you surely know, is U.S. Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter III, Part I, Section 1401: Nationals and citizens of United States at birth.

"Natural born" is not therein defined. The term IS defined in the U.S. Code, as I referenced. |

Seriously, if there was anything to this ineligibility argument, don't you think the Supreme Court would have accepted the case contesting his eligibility? Or that prominent Republicans, be they politicians or members of the media (Faux News), would be all over the story? Indeed, if the rumor had legs to stand on, i.e. a sliver of credible evidence, don't you believe that ALL Americans who put their country ahead of their party (I count myself among that group) would be digging into the issue?

That's a good question, i.e. why Obama has not produced his original birth certificate. I do not know. I am not even aware that he has refused to do so. (Has he? If so, why?)
What I have heard is that Obama produced a copy of his birth certificate that shows that he was, in fact, born in Hawaii to an American citizen, his mother, Ann, and that Hawaii state officials have confirmed that he was born there. For most people, in most cases, this would suffice. Or I would have thought so. But I am not one who questioned McCain's eligibility either.
All I see are rumors, none of them backed by anything approaching credible evidence. What am I missing? |

Fear of riots? I freely admit that there would be a huge outcry, perhaps violence, but I am unable to go along with the notion that such fears would block everyone who either hates Obama or loves their country and the Constitution upon which it is based or both.

You guys are wrong on one point: if Barry was born in Hawaii, he is a natural born citizen, irrespective of his father's nationality. I've read the relevant section of the U.S. Code that was in effect in 1961, and that part is quite clear.
On the other hand, if his paternal grandmother is to be believed, and he was born in Kenya, you are correct in stating that, under that same section of the U.S. Code, his mother was too young to impart U.S. citizenship automatically on Baby Barry, and thereby hangs a Constitutional crisis.
None of us has ever seen the 1961 original of his birth certificate, and millions have been spent to conceal it from public scrutiny. I have to ask, why?
His removal from office is the kind of turmoil through which I would be happy -- no, thrilled -- to live.

Me-Oh, come on. She looks weak. She looks like a little girl who couldn't stand the media scrutiny.
Remember Patsy Schroeder. She ran for President in 1988, and then went on a crying fit when she realized how tough campaigning was. No one ever took her seriously again.
Maybe it isn't fair, but a woman politician has to be a lot tougher than a male. Could you imagine Maggie Thatcher quitting? Or Indira Ghandi? or Golda Meir? (Yes, the all resigned positions at some point, but not at a 'master plan' to regain power.) Could you imagine any of them giving that idiotic speech Palin gave yesterday?
You guys whine because people attacked her children. (No, we didn't. We attacked her judgement in letting the crack dealer's son sleep over and impregnate her daughter or having a Down's baby at 42.) I think everyone has missed the point of
Sarah Palin's announcement. I don't think she intends to run for President in 2012 at all. I do think she will soon become a voice for debuking the Liberal agenda. Currently no Conservative has done a very good job of countering the Liberals notion that we can tax our way to prosoperity or borrow our way out of debt. Sarah Palin's plain spoken, direct way of addressing these issues is understood by average American's. Green Energy is a hoax. Spreading the Wealth around cannot work because it reduces wealth at it's core. Adding the cost of Government to the already increasing cost of health care will not bring health care cost down. Spending tax dollars on make work projects that add nothing to the real GDP will not turn the economy around.
Sarah Palin is one of the few people who can deliver this message in such a way that working Americans can understand it. Most of the Washington and Wall Street Elite do not understand Main Street. Sarah does. That's where she's from.

Americans also do not like people who get paid for a job they aren't doing.
Obama spent 2 years on the campaign trail and ignored his duties as a Senator, yet continued to take the paycheck. The paychecks that you, me, and every other taxpayer paid.
Palin clearly stated in her press conference that she didn't think it was right for the citizens of Alaska to pay her salary while she is spending 80% of her time defending herself against frivolous lawsuits.
That's not "quitting". It's putting the interests of the people above your own. What a concept! One that is rarely seen in politics.
So once again, Palin has shown that she is above the fray.

You can not hold a dual Citizenship and be President of the US. Look up dual Citizenship regarding the Constitutional requirements for holding the office of President.

Many people have asked the Hawaiian officicials for a copy through the freedom of information act and they have basically been told NO WAY! I say, WHY THE HELL NOT??
Also, Occidental college in Los Angeles refuses to turn over ANY of his enrollment forms, information on classes he took, grades he received or any of his thesis' etcetera. WHY? And Obama (choke) has said himself that he enrolled as a foreign student to receive assistance for tuition.
