Huck as Rodney Dangerfield
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 10:18 PM
I understand why conservative writers aren't rallying around Huckabee, seeing as how he's a fiscal liberal, and all.

But why does he get so little respect as a viable candidate?

He has already had a great night; he won more states than Romney tonight, but no matter how well he does, I don't know anyone who thinks he has a chance...

But I think it's at least worth considering the possibility that it could become a two-man race between Huckabee and McCain.

Amazing
It is amazing, that without many states reporting you have already ruled out Romney. A lot of votes left to be counted, lets see what happens before you decide --- I think Huckabee will not be ahead of Romney after the night is through.

There's an old saying
The existence of millions of idiots is not proof of the existence of millions plus one idiots.

If all the world supported Huckleberry, all the world would be wrong and I would still be right.

DUH
It's a twoman race -- and Romney's not in it. He is a poiler and needs to drop out for the sake of the party.

Do the right thing Willard!

Huck et al...
bottom line we have a Lib, a half Lib and an ex-Lib with one non-viable constitutionalist left in this race - get ready for nuclear winter even if we "techinically" retain the White House

huck as liberal
how do u see him as a liberal.... more like a fiscal conservative...

Why Not Viable?
Huckabee is a serial panderer to Christian Conservatives. He rarely completes a sentence without some passage from the New Testament. He has no clue regarding foreign policy and his economic policies are all over the map. There's your answer, Matt.

"two-man race between Huckabee and McCai
Might be just what Romney needs to start his independent campaign where his party can't game the system to deny him the votes. McCain vs Obama. Grim.

McCain vs Obama vs Romney
I like those odds (for Romney coming in at least second behind Obama). Lincoln and Romney. I like it.

If only we had supported Ford over Reagan in '76 . . .

oh, wait. Never mind.

No Respect for Huck?
If you want to know why some do not consider Huck a viable candidate - just scroll through the comments and the blog (ie Mary Katherine Ham) at all the bigoted references to Mike's faith. Funny, comments of a negative nature concerning Romneys religion are immediately decried as ignorant and invalid, David Limbaugh and others have written and spoken out about the growing anti-Christian movement on the left - now it's creeping into conservative politics as well. Those of us who are believers and strong involved conservatives are being heard tonight though. Can you say Huckaboom??

he's the half lib......great on guns...."moderate on god" - he opposed Morris Chapman in the inerrancy debate within the SBC and way left on immigration....love the no-IRS pitch but.....newly come to Jesus there also

What People Say about Huck.
Huck is a nasty, vile man. McCain can be crabby, and can play rough politics, but he is not nasty. Huck is nasty.

A Southern state governor
is always viable. Name any sitting Republican senator who has ever won the presidency? HARDly comfortING.

I just sent 50 bucks to Huck and am openly supporting his candidacy.
