Bill Hennessey over at BigGovernment reports that a small band of conservative House Republicans met Tuesday to form a steering committee and to get the ball rolling in bringing the GOP back to its conservative roots.
Rep. Michele Bachmann, one of the group's most outspoken members, is calling on Americans this week to rally Thursday at the Capitol in protest of Obamacare. On Fox's "Hannity," Bachmann reported that radio talk host and best-selling conservative author Mark Levin will be joining her in the rally. However, noticeably absent from Bachmann's rally cry is the support/acknowledgement of GOP leadership:
Before the Hill brass swooped in to “help” organizers by providing speaker lists and talking points, a band of conservatives formed a steering committee to keep the message and the tactics authentically conservative. These rebels don’t want talking points; they want a battle cry. Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) hosted the meeting of a dozen Hill conservatives who’ve had enough. The meeting was to help Michele Bachmann, and other originators of the House Call protest, retain control of the event and the message. Until now, Mr. Akin and a few others in this Gang of 12 preferred keeping a low profile. Emboldened by the grass roots effect in New York’s 23rd Congressional District race, Akin is determined to go on offensive for conservative principles rather than just fending off Democrat advances. Last week, for example, Akin recruited eight House Republicans to endorse Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, in the NY-23 race, even while the National Republican Congressional Committee was pumping hundreds of thousands of dollars to boost Scozzafava. Tuesday’s meeting included Rep. Steve King (R-IA), Ms. Bachmann, Doctors Paul Broun and Phil Gingrey (Rs-GA), Dr. Michael Burgess (R-TX), and others who are willing to take on their own party’s heirarchy. According to Mr. Akin, “This steering committee is full of risk takers who’ve been pushed out of their comfort zone” and are willing to fight for principle. Akin cited an emerging “sense of camaraderie among conservatives” in the House.
Hooray for active conservatives taking a stand!

It is about time someone in DC has decided not to play the game and stand up for us. These supposed Conservatives will have lots of questions to answer and will be held accountable. They may not realize how many of them will not be reelected but it is necessary to elect true Conservatives. |

I only hope there is a group of conservatives Filling out the Impeachment forms as we speak.Democrats have broken too many laws now. They need to resign. They are just too Anti-American, and in the way.I'm serious, If they're not removed pretty soon, Americans will revolt. We've fought alot of wars, we're pretty battle hardened. Removing congress by force wont be any problem at all. |

ignore this part of my last post: You are either unbeliEvabley gullible or completely ignorant of anything that remotely resembles so full of lies that you have been sppon fed by theliberal when you believe it is all right to kill unborn babies, for gays to marry, for ____
I meant to say that: You are either unbelievably gullible or completely ignorant to anything that even remotely resembles a patriotic American who loves God, country, the flag and the freedoms given to us through the blood, sweat, and tears of our forefathers that are being dismantled daily by this administration of far left, liberal gang of goons. They clearly have no love of God, Liberty country, the people of this country, or anything other than the power they 'believe' they possess by having been elction to their perspective office. America is being split in two by the likes of you, who wouldn't make a pimple on any of our framers a-s-s! You are an Obamanation, an embarassment, and a tragic joke of nature to the America way. |
|
Tell me, how can you believe that it is not all right for Michelle Bachman to be able to rally the conservative base to tell members of Congress that if they don't refute the idiocy and unconstitutional monstrocity of a health care bill that will tear America apart we will vote them out of office, because as they, AND YOU seem to have forgotten - THAT THEY WORK FOR US? You are either unbeliEvabley gullible or completely ignorant of anything that remotely resembles so full of lies that you have been sppon fed by theliberal when you believe it is all right to kill unborn babies, for gays to marry, for |

Michele sez.."rally Thursday at the Capitol" Time to wander the halls of congress and look into the whites of those legislator's eyes.
Come on troops...go and comply! |
|
Slowly but surely we will win back the GOP.
Btw, I'd love to look my Congressman in the face and tell her what I think of socialism this Thursday. Since she won't meet constitutients in her district "without preconditions", it'd probably be the only time I could actually see her before we boot her a** out of office next year. |

Don't look now, but there's a coup going on. You will be escorted out of the party in your pajamas. |

Conservatives need to reach across party lines and find CONSERVATIVE AMERICANS who know that if they don't unit to save our nation - it will be dismantled by the white house frat boys.
Win or Lose, americans deserve a CLEAR CHOICE on election day. If the GOP wants to become the party of 'no values/principles' that plays defense ALL THE TIME then conservatives should not endorse or give money to that cause.
I prefer Owens to Dede if Owens will vote for less govt. less spending, lower taxes, traditional marriage, and all the other conservative values that matter to america's socio-economic-military future. |
