She Did It!

There's really nothing to add to the accolades flowing from all sides -- except to say that Sarah Palin is everything one could hope for in a female Republican.
There was no bitterness, no defensiveness, no explanations about her family that would have humilated or embarrassed anyone. Sarah Palin is nobody's victim. She simply told us who she is, what she believes -- and then she took it to Barack Obama in a style and with panache that a much more seasoned politician would have envied. It's no easy task, especially for a woman, to draw blood with a smile. She did it, and remained extraordinarily likable.
Barack isn't the only person in this race who can give a speech. Hillary Clinton isn't the only formidable female politician on the national scene.
Sarah Palin is a presonal with small town values but the intellect and toughness to thrive on a national and international stage. She's a leader of conviction and a proud wife and mother. And you can tell she really can do it all, as well as it's humanly possible. Magnificent. Just magnificent.

I gotta watch her and Rudy again.... priceless!

Sarah Palin is everything one could hope for in a Republican, male or female. |

Sarah Palin did a fabulous job tonight. "A Star is Born" is a phrase I've heard tossed around tonight and couldn't agree more. John McCain took a huge risk selecting Palin and she showed the world why it was exactly the right choice. |
|
As a center-to-right republican, I didn't like the speech at all (or Guiliani's speech). It played well to the building, but I think to middle-of-the-roaders it will seem angry, sarcastic and mocking.
I think most non-partisans don't like viciousness, and this speech seemed vicious towards Obama. |

Palin is doing a masterful job of doing what the Republican Party called on her to do: retain the conservatives who have not yet been offended out of the Party by McCain. It's a big task to put onto a novice's shoulders, but desperate times call for desperate measures. If anyone can drag McCain's sorry carcase across the finish line in November, Palins's the one. |

Ladies and Gents... we have a winner -- intrade shows Gov. Palin down $12 to under 8 in just over an hour. Be afraid... be very afraid.
But look for the nasty to continue on Sarah. She is now the deadliest woman in America. Imagine, if you will, a country where women like Sarah are the norm, not Rosie O'Dumbell. OMG the horror.
Quick you lefties, make with the personal attacks - because THAT'S going to win you those votes. Queen's Gambit... Accepted. |
|
Sarah delivered! If only Reagan was alive to watch her speech!
|
|
|
But someone should have told Levi not to chew gum on stage. |
|
that she is going to open a speech with the words "I accept your nomination..." I think.
Someone on another thread said they would have no problem voting for the ticket if Sarah was running for Pres not VP. I think she is...just not this year.

The content and delivery were phenomenal. This lady ooozes charisma and will change the entire dynamic of this race. She and Giuliani went a long way toward ripping away the Obama facade. I'm sure the Obama campaign is in shock tonight and will have many sleepless nights figuring out how to deal with this new political star. The media will have to be careful or lose even more of its credibility if that is possible. I can't wait until her debate with Biden. |
|
Oh, wouldn't you like to have Sarah Palin as you friend.
Smart, dialed-in, look ya in the eye, drop dead female pretty and the completely American person.
I guess we'll have to be content to have her as VICE PRESIDENT OF THE USA ... yippie yi yo ki yay. |
|
Gov. Palin was fabulous and I cannot wait to see and hear more from her.
Hope in one of the speeches about McCain that someone mentions that he not only reconciled with those who held him captive, he helped "reach across a very long aisle" to improve relations with North Vietnam.
Obama promises to meet with our enemies unconditionally. McCain reconciles with them when they have left their aggression with us behind them. One is the action of a naive youngster; the other the action of a courageous and wise man. |

Great speech Sarah...direct hit. Now that's someone I can pull the lever for.
I especially relished the fact she aimed her big-ol-moose-rifle directly into the vipors nest of the left-wing media. They have had it coming for a long long time. She made the likes of Sally Quinn and Keith Olberman look small, petty and irrelevant. Gee...it's just toooooo baaaddd Sally Quinn you have your shorts in a bunch because the "media" wasn't given time to "vet" Sarah. But I have one question...who the h*ll is the media? In case you forgot...the people run this show! NOT the S.O.B. mainstream media.
You go SARAH! |
