Getting Back in the Game

It's obvious to anyone with eyes to see that, with President Obama's sweeping plans, he's intending to move America to the left and expand government as dramatically -- if not more so -- than FDR did back in the '30's.
Given the administration's success at spreading fear, Republicans are going to need to come up with a compelling way to make the case that in many ways, Obama's prescriptions are exactly the wrong medicine for an ailing economy. They need to point out that:
First, the President's promises are simply too good to be true -- not unlike the lendors who convinced homebuyers that they could have something for nothing. Much of what Obama has promised is simply pie-in-the-sky. As Jack Kelly has noted, the President wants us to believe that:
The Bush deficits were bad, but he proposes to triple them, then cut them in half within four years, and do this without raising taxes on 95 percent of Americans or leaving a mountain of debt for our grandchildren. He's going to expand health care coverage, while reducing its cost. He'll impose a "cap and trade" carbon emissions plan that will generate revenue and create jobs while easing global warming.
If you believe all that, I've got a bridge you can buy. But if the promises Obama makes are incredible, what reason do we have to believe that his projections for the economy are credible? That's especially true when investors and financial experts aren't buying what he's selling -- reflected in the fact that, in the month since his inauguration, the market is down more than in any month since 1933.
Second, the GOP needs real stories -- not just of government waste, but of the small businesses and owners (and regular Americans) who are going to be hurt by the tax-and-spend policies Obama is advocating. Joe the Plumber became an overnight sensation because he put a human face on the dry policies that McCain had talked about. The GOP needs to find an army of Joes and Josephines -- good, hardworking Americans who aren't looking for a handout, and who are going to suffer if Obama's plans are put into place -- and introduce them to the American people.
Third, the divisiveness of Obama's policies needs to be emphasized. Americans have survived many (and worse) crises in the past -- not by being divided, one citizen against another, but by standing unified against a common threat. Obama's approach relies on a certain scapegoating of "the rich" -- even those whose wealth has come through years of hard work and sacrifice.
Certainly, those who have behaved illegally or unethically should be held to account. But trashing all bankers, just because some have behaved inexcusably isn't just unpresidential. It's wrong -- and Obama ought to stop it. He was supposedly elected to "unite" us, not to stoke resentment and hatred between different groups of Americans.
Fourth, the GOP needs to explain that we all fall or rise together, as Americans. If Obama taxes the job-creators out of existence, what happens to the job-seekers?
It would be instructive to remember the "yacht tax" that the Democrats put in place about twenty years ago. It was supposed to raise tax money by really sticking to the yacht-owners -- that's right, "the rich." Who suffered? The yacht-builders and those who worked for them. By 1992, even the NY Times ran a favorable story about (the first) President Bush's efforts to have the tax repealed in order to help yacht industry workers. The moral of the story? It's impossible to bring real prosperity through a class warfare strategy of soaking the rich. For better or worse, economically, we all rise and fall together.
Finally, shouldn't someone be pointing out that we have the least experienced President in modern times touting the biggest plans to remake this country that we've seen in almost a century? Given that he's never really run anything in his life -- or been responsible for hard results -- is it wrong to ask that President Obama show that he knows how to fix the economy before, say, we go allowing him to remake the health care system?

Doesn't matter how far from the reality de-lusive Obama is, his faithful misinformed and misled fans believe his every word! Do your homework and take the 'O' rose colored glasses off! Your King 'O' knows not what he does! How could he; what in his background has ever prepared him for such needed wisdom? Certainly his lack of executive knowledge leaves much to be desired. I'm bothered and bewildered that after all the two face Obama has said and done, more people haven't seen how ill prepared and radical he is?! Heads in the sand will bring the U.S down! Ex Democrat

Thomas Jefferson pretty well covered much about our situation today in two quotes made by him over 200 years ago. Our founders fathers feared what we are living today:
1. "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."
2. "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."*
I don"t think the presidenr's clueless. I think he knows EXACTLY what he is doing. HE was tutored by communists and making a career of destroying the productive for benefit to the leeches. No, he knows what he is doing, alright. STIMULUS deprives YOUR children/adult/vets of meds and leaves you to SILENCE the SCREAMS without meds rather than pass HR 219 AND 236 to protect SOC SEC for military and non-military and vets lockbox law and cola to protect medicare WITHOUT RAISING taxes, and WITHOUT cutting services.ggogle HR 219, HR 236 and retiresafe.org

Do you keep copies of these rants and paste them in every time, or do you just set out to type and somehow have it turn out to be the same sad words over and over? |

If people bothered to look at Obama's accomplishments before the election, they would have seen only two:
2 Books
Of which one was likely ghost written by his pal Ayers. Its been shown that the patterns of one of the books align's more closely to Ayers' writings as well as the terminology, when compared to BHO's other book.
His record on voting was quite clear...abstaining from voting for or against anything....i.e. Present. Thats not leadership
His record for putting together a flood of earmarks all directed at business dealings he was associated with or that contributed to his campaign. I.e. the muli-million dollar earmark for the same institution his wife was working for, and that conveniently netted her a 200K increase in income just after receiving the earmark. hmmmm.
His plans are purely idealogical, the bulk of which have been proven in the past to have failed and failed miserably. He knows because he was asked about them in the campaign, admitted to their failures, but yet insisted it was the way to go. So why would someone put forth plans they know to have failed in the past? Arrogance? Ignorance? Does this mean he is anti-american? It seems so.
This is not the sign of a good leader. These characteristics have been seen as flaws by leaders of past who were more focused on their own legendary or celebraty than doing the right thing, only to make mistakes that their enemies could capitalize on.
My only hope is that he does something that will warrant an impeachment so that the tax payers arent stuck with paying his retirement for the remainder of his life. |

OPERATION - "I CAN'T READ A THING WITHOUT MY GLASSES"
OPERATION - "HERE'S YOUR SIGN" - TEA BAG LABELS -----------
1) - Congress passed this porkulus bill WITHOUT READING IT. Could this be due to a lack of Reading Glasses on Capitol Hill?
In this era of Socialism and redistribution of weath, I am willing to redistribute a pair of my old glasses to the slimy politicians that voted for this travesty. To help them, "See the Error of their ways." Or, in other words, help them "See the light."
Outraged citizens will be sending glasses during the month of March. These glasses do not have to be fancy, I even think broken glasses would be better since they are breaking the country. They can be dollar store glasses or even toy glasses. They will get the message.
Send your glasses to their local offices and in Washington D.C. All their offices need to put the Will of the People into better focus.
---------- 2 - This mail in protest has already been discussed. This is just a reminder. Start saving your tea bag LABELS. We are not sending the actual tea, just the labels. All of these labels or signs, tell the corrupt politicians WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THEIR NONSENSE ANY LONGER! WE OWN THIS COUNTRY, NOT THEM!
According to your location, mail them to your Congressmen, Senators, and the Dear Leader, so they will arrive on TAX DAY APRIL 15, 2009.
------------- Make up a few fliers or signs. They can even be handwritten and post them around your neighborhood. We want as many participants in both of these protest mailings as possible.
These are just little things, but we are striving to keep the pressure up on these politicians. Mass mailings in conjuction with the tea parties are effective vehicles to convey our anger.

To Bob Munck-get a pencel and take notes if you can't keep up.I have never read a single substantive arguement supporting your complaints about other peoples opinions. If you come at me-come strong or don't come at all.I've forgotten more about history and politics than you have ever learned.Did you even read the Coulter column? There is not one thing that you can't simply look up and find she is telling nothing but the truth.Everything Obama has proposed is a literal paradox(that means it can't physically happen at the same time).LIBERALS-YOU CAN"T EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT TOO!It's Occums Razor Bob,the simplest answer is almost always right. All conservatism represents is plain common sense and decency. |
