Brownback Campaign Goes After Romney on Abortion/Amnesty
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:32 PM

Brownback Political director Martin Gillespie and Brownback blogger Leon Wolf are going after Mitt Romney for his failure to label abortion “murder.

LifeNews.com reports:

”Martin Gillespie, political director of Sam Brownback's campaign seized on those comments and told LifeNews.com that he thought Romney was again changing his position on abortion.

"Mitt Romney's flip-flops on abortion throughout the years make more sense now," he said. "Every different Romney flip-flop on abortion has coincided perfectly with the most politically expedient position of the campaign he was in."

Following is the statement from Romney's campaign:

Romney Campaign Statement Encourages others toward Pro-life Position

Responding to the Brownback campaign’s comments, Kevin Madden, a spokesman for Romney, said, “Governor Romney is firmly pro-life and is he will continue to encourage, promote and defend pro-life policies. Advocacy of these policies and bringing others towards a pro-life position is an important part of the governor’s efforts.”

This is not the first time the Brownback campaign has gone after Romney.

Good for Brownback
He has been solidly pro-life for years. While I would probably vote for Romney in a general election IF he is the nominee - he does not have my vote in the Iowa Caucus. That goes to Senator Sam Brownback.

Steve you
are so transparent it's funny. You want Mitt to be punched because that makes your RINO Rudy more viable. Frankly, on key issues like life, guns, trustworthiness and credibility...RINO Rudy and Flipflopper Mitt were on the same page until very recently. You think a Republican is gonna win a national election without gettig the endorsement of either the NRA or the NRLC? Never happened before, not gonna happen now.

speaking of abortion...

Sam Brownback should abort his campaign.

Good For Brownback
Good for Sam Brownback. While certain worthies at TH love nothing more than to kiss Romney's ring, at least one candidate is giving Mitt the punches and kicks he so richly deserves.

This trio of nonconservatives all get
what they deserve! I hope the lower tier cuts their legs off untill they look like little midgets running around on stage! Brownback lost me last year when he supported the original BUSH/KENNEDY/McCAIN "Amnesty For All bill", but until then, he had a very good conservative voting record. A SCANDAL FOOD FIGHT will not be good for the top tier, because the lower tier is where the conservatives are! Brownback has NEVER waivered on his ABORTION position. It's the GOP that is waving like a tree in a hurricane!

What's Romney's
position on abortion, gun control, and amnesty today? Life long hunter..LOL. Prolife...LOL. Anti-amnesty..LOL. The dude is a sharp guy but a flip flopper like hi dad, mom, sister in law...all the rest of that Romney clan.

Eating their own...
Jessica,
Your comment heading made me think if Darwin's natural selection...ironically apropos for Brownback.
As it stands, Brownback is just working for a cabinet position. He is either too dumb to realize he has no shot at becoming the next President. (I don't think he's dumb per se') That leaves him as a hopeless idealogue, or someone who is politicking for a cabinet spot.
My money is on the Cabinet spot.

Irrelevant
Brownback is irrelevant. I disagree with Romney on abortion but still support him. Romney will help the pro life cause a lot more than Brownback. He is a much better spokesman and can reach a much wider audience.
