Here Comes the "Racist" Meme
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 11:54 AM
AP is running a story that purports to plumb the "racial attitudes" of some Pennsylvania voters -- and which suggests, none too subtly, that there are a lot of racists who won't vote for Barack Obama simply because of his skin color.

As I've noted before, racism is wrong, but opposition to Barack Obama for any non-racial reason (e.g., policies, character, associates) is not.  The problem, of course, is that many in the MSM will try to conflate the two.

It's remarkable that, as support for its proposition that there are suspect racial attitudes lurking in Pennyslvania, the piece was reduced to quoting a woman who won't vote for anyone (and anyone who's worked in politics is familiar with this archetype of perpetual disgruntlement) and a man who's obviously senile (he remembers voting in '56, but not in recent elections).

It's just the beginning of the racial meme that will be harped on and expanded on as the campaign progresses.  The irony is that coverage like this is what helps create the "Bradley effect" because people become worried they will be portrayed as bigots if they're not promising to vote for Barack.

A vote for Obama is a vote
for continuing the Cheney legacy...

I have Dream ANYONE???
What about all the racist blacks who want not to examine the content of Barely Sane as Osama I mean Barry Huesein Obama, freudin slip I appologize.

These same blacks throw the race card at every single issue and I am tired of this ignorant response to ANY disagreement with their side of an issue. They even go so far as to demonize conservative blacks who disagree.

I say anyone who votes for or against a cadidate based of a physical characterist is an ignorant and miserable human being who is selling out his country and should withhold their vote instead of dishonoring the process

Ex-Tex
Based on Obama's genealogy, there is no black candidate running for POTUS.
There is, however, and Arab masquerading as a black.....
Does that make a difference to anybody, you think....?
Naaaaaah....

If the black candidate for POTUS...
...was Dr. Thomas Sowell, he's have my vote in a heartbeat.

Barack Obama- not a chance in hell.

Given...
That a lot of the country was fairly racist just 50 years ago, it's certainly not inconceivable that a portion of rural voters would not be happy voting for a black man or seeing him as president.

And I think there is a certain degree of fear that goes beyond mere partisanship within some conservative circles that Obama is a shadow candidate who's just playing nice, but will somehow 'stick it to Whitey' once he's in office.

So ...
If NOT voting for a Racist Supporting candidate is considered racist because he is black, what is voting FOR a racist supporting candidate because he is black then considered ?

Cool I guess :)
Ana Mus writes: Monday, June, 09, 2008 12:59 PM
the primary voters were called
racist for not voting for Obama. Obama pulled and used the race card out of the hat early. He and his surrogates will continue and when he loses the entire nation will be called racist.
