6-Year Old Boy Floats Away In Homemade Helium Balloon Aircraft?
Posted by: Jillian Bandes at 3:21 PM
You can watch live coverage on network television, or on Breitbart. He's traveling between 15-20mph, 4,000 feet in the air above Colorado. This is completely terrifying.

UPDATE: The thing just landed. No one came out. No one knows where the kid is. Developing...

UPDATE: He was hiding in a box in the attic of his home. Just.....wow.

so very sad
I hope the child ran away because he thought he did something wrong. Kids do that.

The kid
Just found out that his parents were libs and he was looking for anyway out. Hopefully the kid is safe and sound with some nice conservative family.

The balloon....
.....landed, but no child was found.

This is a terribly sad story. My prayers are with that family.....their lives were forever changed today....
Cicero writes: Thursday, October, 15, 2009 4:19 PM
It's still not clear. . .
whether the kid was in the balloon or not. News reports are conflicting right now. Hope the kid just freaked out when the balloon lifted off, and is hiding out for the moment.

Yeah....let's hope so.

....wonder if septic would be interested in a free balloon ride......
Cicero writes: Thursday, October, 15, 2009 5:36 PM
This may not turn out well. . .

In the old days, you used to show up everyday at about 5:00 EST, drop a pile on every thread, and then disappear.....
You are showing up later in the day nowadays.....
How come.....?
Riders on the Storm writes: Thursday, October, 15, 2009 6:50 PM
I'm glad the boy is safe,
but this sounds like a kooky family:

"'When the Heene family aren't chasing storms, they devote their time to scientific experiments that include looking for extraterrestrials and building a research-gathering flying saucer to send into the eye of the storm,' according to ABC's description of the episode."

After hours of television coverage and authorities being tied up looking for the child, he is found in the attic. Wouldn't you look all over the house and yard first before calling the police? And why did the eight year old say his brother was in the balloon?

Riders....
ditto....

Pretty interesting day in Colorado.....
