Kurtz Is Exactly Right
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 12:26 PM

There was a time when major media outlets refused to touch unsubstantiated allegations.

Howard Kurtz's column on the absurd story planted in Insight Magazine and passed off as originating with Hillary recounts how the "story" spread throughout the media world should be must-reading in every newsroom and among first tier bloggers.  New and old journalists alike have to reassess their policies now, and reject anonymous sourcing for "blockbuster" stories, whether in The New York Times or Insight Magazine.

when i was little i was sure
that adults had it all handled and acted not like me at all. Now that I am a grown-up I am appalled at the sophmoric weaselly antics of the press as well as some other professions. I can't believe that these people get paid for this. This is indeed an awesome country little thanks to them.

"Cut Terrorists Some Slack!": Libs

Yet, when it comes to accusing terrorists, news-gathering organizations are very, very carfeful, and routinely give the terrorists the benefit of the doubt:

headline: Insurgents Allegedly Plotted U.S. Attack [http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/22/terror/main2385993.shtml?source=RSSattr=U.S._2385993]

Do the anti-war/anti-Bushers want the Commander in Chief to give the terrorists the benefit of the doubt, too?

"Bias! HA!...
...You're Seeing Things!": "Journalists, So-Called

Journalism has been infiltrated mostly by Lib, political operatives -- cats among the pigeons.

They have intended and continue to intend to blur the line between what was known to be objective and accurate journalism and bird-shot blasting out of opinion.

Because they are in "journalism," they can say that you're seeing things when you complain about bias.
