WASILLA, Alaska (AP) _ Bristol Palin's boyfriend plans to join
the family of the Republican vice presidential candidate at the GOP
convention.

   Levi Johnston's mother said her 18-year-old son left Alaska on
Tuesday morning to join the Palin family in St. Paul, Minn.

   Sherry Johnston also said there has been no pressure put on her
son to marry Bristol Palin, the pregnant daughter of vice
presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

   "Absolutely not," Sherry Johnston told reporters outside the
family's Wasilla home. Johnston said the two teens already had
plans to marry before they knew she was pregnant.

   Sarah Palin announced Monday that her 17-year-old unmarried
daughter was pregnant. The father was not identified beyond the
first name of Levi.

National Stage
I am a traditional conservative mom of two and hope the do not celebrate/elevate teen pregnancy on a national stage -especially a Republican stage. I am very happy that they are getting married (hopefully before the baby is born) but since they are not as of yet -I hope Gov. Palin joins them off stage.

I can see it now. Liberals chasing down Bristols' ex-boyfriends, and their ex-girlfriends. Some teen somewhere has to have something negative to say about Bristol. Maybe the neighbours dog doesn't like her. Sheesh.

That's good to hear
"Johnston said the two teens already had plans to marry before they knew she was pregnant." I'm no fan of the idea that if you fool around and get pregnant, you should get married no matter what. There are times when that's actually a very bad idea. But not knowing the Johnstons and Palins personally I had no right to judge the wisdom of the marriage. Knowing now that they were planning on getting married anyway would seem to clinch it, that they made the right choice. I'm not excusing them fooling around; that was wrong. But they seem to be making the right decisions going forward. With a system of belief centered around Christ's gift of redemption rather than condemnation, that's what we ask.

Maybe
it would be one if the drivebys and obama campaign would leave a 17 year old girl alone. Given that the DemonRAT party is the party of baby murder, they have no room to even talk about this girl. There are a lot of families, mine among them that have worked hard as parents to instill values and good decisions on their children only to have them make mistakes. They won't be the first and they won't be the last, but this case it's a case of gotcha..attempts by the propaganda wing of the DNC, the driveby media who have the combined i.q.'s of a gnat and the morals of alley cats to tell the Christian/evangelicals that they are so judgemental they will bail on Palin..Not so. This will further anneal them to Sarah Palin.. and her family because she's us, she's fly over country she's the bitter, gun totin' bible believing church going clingers...
