Colmes Clarifies
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 2:52 PM
I have an update to my blog that's still featured on Drudge..

Alan Colmes, of Hannity & Colmes, just phoned me to say he posted a clarification about his "Prenatal Care" blog and told me he did not in any way mean to suggest Palin was to blame for her child's condition.

Colmes says he only mean to call her "judgment" into question.

"It’s fair to question a person’s judgment if that person is seeking to be Vice President of the United States,  just as the judgment of the Obama Biden ticket has been heavily questioned.  And part of that question of judgment has to do with life decisions that candidates make," Colmes clarified today. "In the case of Sarah Palin, it had to do with a choice to give a speech and then board a flight after contractions began and water began to break in the last month of pregnancy with her fifth child. "

(And for those wondering, Colmes was very kind and personable with me. We sometimes spar on the air, but there were no harsh words in our conversation at all.)

Alan Colmes, you are a moron. I have always known that but you just confirmed it. For one thing, Down Syndrome is not caused from lack of prenatal care, it is just an extra chromosone that is there from conception. For another thing, nobody knows what causes Down Syndrome. I am a grandmother of a Down Syndrome child. He has spoken with sign language since he was 6 months old, and now speaks verbally as well as with sign language at the age of 4. He is not defective so don't call it a birth defect. I will tell you who is defective, it is the lefties who think that a child should be aborted unless it meets societies definition of perfect. If we did that then there would have been a lot of you lefties who would have never been born.

Who cares what Colmes says or thinks
What does he know about pregancy, labor or delivery? He is a nobody!
Ana Mus writes: Monday, September, 01, 2008 4:31 PM
Colmes did nothing more than
try to put some legitimacy to a nasty, vile rumor on the internet. No matter how he tries to parse it, he is a talking head who represents the Democratic party. He is showing he is like Obama in that he is claiming he didn't mean what he said in the first place.

He was on the air last night and did NOTHING to rectify his outlandish allegations against Governor Palin. Nor, did he try to rectify it on his blog IMMEDIATELY.

He's trying to claim Gov Palin didn't show good judgment? When has he questioned Obama's judgment? Palin isn't consorting and taking advice from Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.

Nice try but the error in judgment was made by Colmes. This was her 5th pregnancy. I think she understands her body and how it works during the birthing process. She was in contact with her physicians. Equating this "error in judgment" to Obama spending 20 years in Wrights church is a howl.

Ed Morrisey at Hot Air is right. Colmes is a careless intellectual light weight.

Is this the best his astute research into the Palin's judgment could come up with.

Alan Colmes
I agree that Alan Colmes seems like a decent person. However, having watched him over the years his interviews have become a review of dem talking points, he interrupts anyone he disagrees with, and rapidly changes the topic when he is losing an argument. He seemed to be more fair a few years ago. The last year he has aggressively pushed democratic talking points.

He has lost all credibility in my book - he is no better than the lunatic Kos Kids. Questioning her pre-natal judgment is off limits and just sick. Alan, look in the mirror, take a shower and wipe the scum off yourself.

BTW--Kudos to Barack Obama. You heard me. Sen. Obama shows both class and judgment. Prehaps some of his followers should do the same? http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2008/09/the_de cency_of_barack_obama.asp

WHERE IS the outrage !

OBAMA's slander package

deliverd by the media

HIS EVIL< DEMENTED< DEPRAVED BASE

He cannot win without them: he motivates them, encourages them, inspires them, and then acts like his hands are clean:

HE cannot win on the merits of the issues HE HAS TO SLANDER the personal lives of his opponents

Alan Colmes Has A Good Heart
September 1, 2008

I first met Alan Colmes back in 1980 in New York as I appeared twice on his New York radio program as The Street Economist, a maverick consumer advisor. From there I made many television appearances before joining the investigative unit of Pinkerton Inc. Alan was one who gave me the start to success in my career. He is a kind and decent man with a good heart and with Sean are the foremost purveyors of the political scenario from their positions on Fox News. This has to be some kind of misunderstanding or what we all have seen recently in the primaries, a misspeak. My commentaries are proof that I am a huge McCain ticket supporter and energetically stand by Sarah Palin. Again, I am confident that Alan Colmes would never intentionally cast any malice in this particular instance. I forgot about this
and will continue my modus operandi of watching and learning from all the Fox luminaries, Alan Colmes as well.

Colmes never questioned Obama
Lay down with dogs get up with fleas is what Colmes should have told Obama. But instead of doing that Colmes defends Obama's choice of friends such as domestic terrorist William Ayers.

Good for you Amanda
for singling out Alan on that one.

As much as I disagree with Alan, I respect the man. He and Hannity keep each other in check.

Nice try Alan Colmes but...
You got blown away by Andrew Sullivan. He was so over the top that an award was created, the Andrew Sullivan Award for Excessive Sarah Palin Degrangement Syndrome. Better luck next time. You can try for the award in the future.
mark writes: Monday, September, 01, 2008 3:07 PM
colmes clarifies? typical
i find it common that liberals open their mouths first and care not where the chips fall. their purpose in life is to raise questions of real, or in this case, imagined issues. i think it was t.c. who earlier said palin will shine when listing her accomplishments and her tackling of corruption in her own party, while obama and biden cant even remove or address the dead weight in their own party. of course, we all know that dead weight cant remove dead weight as all dead weight is inactive
